Kingdom Hearts II Axel's True Identity Theory

I have just recently come to believe that Axel's true name is none other than..................................................................... Reno. Think about it. They both have Red Spikey Hair, they both have those Markings under their Eyes, They both Talk almost exactly the same, They both really care for their partners in crime, they both don't do their jobs (Axel betrayed the organization by kidnapping Kairi, and Reno doesn't attack Cloud when he is off duty), and sinse Xemnas' true name really isn't Ansem, then that leads to assume that it could also be the same for other nobodies. I mean really, Roxen is too close to Roxas, By saying Nexor someone could think it is a racist term, Exron is a gas station or something, Norex just sounds stupid, Xeron seems to cliche of a name due to it starting with XE and ending with an N, Xenor is what you get when you say Xehanort five times fast, and so on and so forth. Besides, by naming him axel, it makes it alot cooler to find out that his true self is Reno. Reno's heart must have been taken by the heartless when they raided Radient Garden. So what do you think? Is this another one of my great theorys or has this one already been thought up? and I promise I won't let a fight break out htis time.

Actually,Axelis based off Reno so his real name should be Ale,Reno's favourite drink.

Reno is not Axel. Nomura already confirmed it.

The reason why they are so similar, is because Nomura thought it will be fun for KH to have its own resident Reno, you know. They are the same, but are different (meaning they are not each other, but have some similar attributes. Like the ones you listed).

Axel was based off of Reno. Hence, the same voice actors, same red hair, tattoos under eyes, cockiness, etc.

Ale...you know, I've been wondering. Where does it say that Reno's favorite drink is Ale? I haven't read it anywhere, and I'm curious.

 

Total lol there...I like to think that he's an 'Ale' as well. And I think that you're right, Nomura just wanted another Reno-type character because the original did so well. Maybe they're related, just not the same person.

 

I agree with you completely there.

I'm not so sure about what happened in KH1 with Reno, but don't you like, have to go through some process to become a nobody? And I don't think Reno went through that (correct me if I'm wrong, I've just started KH1, but I've finished KH2 already).

And about Xemnas not really being called Ansem, he got that because Xehanort called himself Ansem, took Ansem as his own name, etc. hence the fact that he was called Xemnas.

 

Well, they obviously have to lose their hearts. I have no idea how long it takes to actually become one after that, though.

 

But I don't think that Reno actually lost his heart. Anyways, we already know he isn't Reno.

 

You know what's funny?

Everyone keeps on about the Reno/Axel being the same, yet Larxene looks exactly like Elena (and Elena's sister, that Before Crisis Turk), only with blue eyes. And even though their personalities are different, it can easily be blamed that is because Larxene is her Nobody, and thus, a more darker side of her (like Roxas being so emo, Naminé so meek, shy, and quiet). Their names are even similar, and if it wasn't for the "R" in Larxene....

Guess from there.

Of course, NOT that they are the same (we don't need another one), I'm just saying.

With Axel is tiny, tiny, less possible. Only cause there's no lighter and darker side to compare, he acts almost like Reno, and he doesn't have a different VA. If the voices were suppose to be the same, wouldn't Roxas have Sora's voice? Naminé Kairi's?

We already know Axel isn't Reno's Nobody, what Nomura says is word too, but I really like your idea of them being related. Doubtful, but I like the idea.

I just think it would have been cool to see Axel in his Somebody form, saying he has an older brother, and OMG, is Reno! :P That could work for Larxene too, actually...

 

If Axel had a somebody form, what would his real name be? I'm not sure if anyone has had an answer to this, but I was thinking it was something like Eal, because it sounds cool. Right?

 

Almost everybody's going with "Ale" (Reno's suppose favorite drink that I haven't read about yet. Since I'm a Reno fan, I want to know).

"Eal" is cool too. Is either that, "Ael", or "Ale". I'm fond of Ale though.

The other two for Axel, "Lea" and "Lae", sound girly.

Y'know, usually I slap myself for thinking this, but I like believing that Axel is different from the others and that his name was Alex.

Because, think about it, the X that they add to nobody names are supposed to mark the organization's brotherhood (Even though there is a sister) with eachother. So, when Axel came into the organization, they probably could have figured that he didn't need another X. So they just scrambled his name around thus creating Axel.

I used to REALLY hate thinking that, but now, I kinda like the theory xP

Lol, Ela. I know somebody who named their daughter that.

But Alex...maybe. None of the members had double X's, so maybe that's the way it was. Probably not, but maybe.

 

1) They'd have to be brothers, sinse they are exactly the same, except Axel is a fire elemental, and Reno is, well... he's normal.

2) they come up in twilight town at the exact same time as the heartless comes up.

3) Larxene must be Elina's sister, Lerane, and just like with Axel and Reno, she is a Lightning Elemental, and I know Lerane is probably spelled wrong, but it's a name, you can name people anything.

4) I thought that Demyx was also really simelar to someone from Shinra, but I forget who it was. I think all the elementals are similar to the people who work for Shinra.

5) Now that we know they are different people, who do you think would win? Reno, or Axel?
Elena or Larxene?
Deal, or No Deal?

 

You are not the first to notice this, the reason they sound the same is because (in the english version) they are both voiced by Quinton Flynn- unless I've got my facts wrong but I deffinately know the person who did Axel's voice is the same as the one who did Renos

 

I called my friend Alex 'Axel' once XP

But said already, they probably just based charectors off other people in Square games. -shrug-

 

If you're using Seiyuus and Voice Actors as basis for your logic then Hojo is Vexen's other and Raiden(MGS) is Axel's Heartless.

But as multiple people have said, there is no connection between them in-game. Seems every game needs a cocky redhead to liven things up.

 

I heard that Axel's Somebody name was hard to anagra so they took out a few letters.
