Axel's death...I have noticed differences when he explodes between the Japanese and English versions of the game...

There is the english version, right when he explodes there is a smokey heart/circle there.

This is a japanese version...it might be FM+, it might not be, but there's clearly a difference. At about 1:18 it looks like butterfly wings are on him...

And so my question is this....why did they change this scene? Has anyone noticed this besides me?

I admit, I have no idea why. I do find that interesting, though, that they changed it.

The American version is edited. To the extreme.
Apparently, pirates chugging rum is bad, we can't have a bad guy have a gun as a weapon, and someone exploding into a firey mess is inappropriate for people ages 10 and up.

    Seriously, wtf. -_-

The reasons behind the censorship were mainly due to Disney's greater presence and insight into the English Translation.

The American version is changed alot, and censored. Not suprising to see a difference.

Yeah, the burst of flames coming out of his chest being replaced by greyish smoke isn't really a surprise, considering the amount of edits they have. But, it is interesting that if you pause the English version of it at the right time, it really does look like a heart shape.

I noticed this ages ago. I think they edited it because maybe the flames spelled something for like a millisecond in Japanese but it would mean nothing to the americans and british so they edited it.

    Just one farfetched theory.
