Aww man, Avril was my first musical love, and I still haven't gotten over it xDx I think all of her albums have a few gems on them, but overall Under My Skin is my favorite, with Goodbye Lullaby being a pretty close runner up. My fave songs are Freak Out, Stop Standing There, Not Enough, My Happy Ending, Innocence and My World (which apart from the 'grew up in a small town, Napanee' part describes my life perfectly). There's just something irresistible about her that I can't get over xD
I agree, I always liked her old songs better than the ones she does now. Ahh takes me back to the the good times when ever hearing them
Avril was the first singer I got into. She's technically my childhood alongside My Chemical Romance and Simple Plan. I love her to bits and I used to always want to be like her when I grow up. Part of me still does x) She's gorgeous fuhisnijklzja <33 Anyway, I love her older songs over her new ones. I actually haven't gotten to listening to her new ones yet, but I've heard a few such as the ones above. They're catchy. But I prefer her songs from the older albums like Under My Skin and Let Go.
Avril Lavigne is an untalented hack who writes nothing more than generic, lifeless pop while pretending to be a punk rocker just to make herself seem "cool" and "edgy."
I'm gonna ignore the rest of your arguments cause that's a battle no-one can win, and just focus on the bolded part. She has herself said many times that she is not a punk rocker, nor does she want to be labeled as one. Her music is usually classified either as pop or pop-rock, whether it's good or bad doesn't really matter. Sure, she wears semi 'punky' clothing, and it's probably because she wants to seem edgy, but even she recognizes that she isn't punk.
Oh, so its the idiots of her fanbase that label her as punk. That actually doesn't really surprise me.
Them too, the media seems to be most persistent about it, though. The majority of the fans I've talked to don't think she's punk.
