A couple of reviewers have Tweeted about seeing the finale. Apparently it's the best thing one of 'em has watched all year, and we also need to brace ourselves for emotional trauma. i'll find links later

    Help.

I can't wait for book four!

Am I the only one who laughed at Zaheer and P'li kissing?

    Also, two questions:
    1. I don't understand how what Zaheer wanted was natural order.
    2. Has Mako always been able to shoot lightning? I vaguely remember, but I'm not sure.

Started writing this the other day, but since I never posted for 11, here is that. I'm still on that finale high, so I wanna wait a bit before I try to analyze that (it will probably be long), but I liked it a lot, definitely the best finale out of Korra by far.

Apparently there's a Tumblr blog out there called ZaheerForThePeople that has been posting some interesting stuff regarding Guru Laghima and Xia Bao. Would not recommend reading if you want to go into the finale blind or the posts are true, but for the curious cats it's out there.

edit: Those content of those posts didn't come up in the finale, though they seem so legit? Maybe it'll be grounds for something in Book 4? I dunno.

Also Episode 11 destroyed me at the end even though I think the first half of the episode was kinda boring (desert trip).

I feel like that part could've been taken out of the episode and given to something else? I dunno, the script felt weak in places ("I will do ________" x5), and I didn't really like how they used Iroh to tell Korra to go talk to Zuko when they could've just had her done that since everyone knows Zuko and Aang were buds. Also, "Zuko knew Aang best" except for, y'know, his wife and kids???

I am so torn about Tenzin's fate. Half of me wants him to live because that would be devastating if he died and Jinora/Ikki/Meelo/Rohan lost their dad, Pema lost her husband, and Korra lost her mentor. On the other hand, it would be so good for developing Korra and Jinora, that they both have to carry on Tenzin's legacy.

Speaking of his legacy, I never stopped to realize it but this episode showed just how much weight Tenzin holds in the world. He is the only Airbending Master, the only one who knows everything about the culture and practices, the only one who can teach people about it and Airbending. Even Zaheer recognizes this and seemed in awe of Tenzin when the Red Lotus approached them. Unfortunately that didn't stop him from ALMOST KILLING THE CLOUDBABIES.

    ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE.

It was good, but it also didn't feel like it ended on a note like the other 2 seasons. It had more of a "we'll be making a next season for sure" feel than "Yeah, this is the closing episode. By the way, there could be a next season." I'm not saying it was bad, but it was...different. I still find the first season finale the saddest of them all just because of Tarlock and Amon.
Speaking of which, I liked what they did to bring back those characters in Korra's fears and her little episode in the cave. Also, if it were me, I would have snapped Zaheer's neck while he was trapped. They already tried holding him in prison once, and that didn't work forever.
I just wonder how they're going to continue on now as well. Just seems...meh.

Kind of disappointed with the last half of this season. It felt like they were trying to cram lots of plot points in, which they could've explored better with less action stuff. I wanted the whole philosophical ideas of Zaheer to shake up the more modern ideas of a modernizing world. In Korra's time, there has always been a disconnect with old ways and the new. Like how Republic City is the modern era whilst the Earth Kingdom still seems so old fashioned.

Regardless, better then the last Series. Zaheer was great.

Now regarding thoughts to the future:
In regards to the end and the future, I think Korra will quit being the Avatar at the end of her story. See, she was the one who put everyone in danger from the Red Lotus, as they ransomed the last airbenders in order to get her. She also was also losing her battle against Zaheer, and it was only due to Jinora and the other airbenders that Zaheer was defeated and to Lin's sister that the poison was removed. After all that, Korra was broken quite a bit. And yet the world went on without her, since Tenzin declared the airbenders would take care of the people of the world in Korra's absence. In essence, the world is becoming self sustaining, they don't require the Avatar to save them from everything.
Which is proving to Korra that what Zaheer said was true. The time of the Avatar was at an end, the world no longer required her. This has been a recurring theme in the villains, especially Amon, and is shown when Korra starts hallucinating. During the whole end of the last episode, all I thought is that she can no longer take the task of Avatar, she doesn't need to really.

It'd be interesting to see what they do have planned.

I feel like the real reason they took this off tv was because of

all the killing and dying and stuff

I disagree. The same stuff happened with Avatar: The Last Airbender, and it stayed on TV.

It would've been more merciful to kill Zaheer alongside his friends and lover.

Apparently, Australia's promotional commercial for Book 3 had clips from Book 4 within it. Would urge ya not to watch it if you haven't finished Book 3 already, just to be safe. But it seemingly hints at a possible ominous role for a character we've seen in the show already:

Zelda Williams' character, Kuvira, who's the lead guard (and one of the Metalbending dance performers) under Suyin Beifong in Zaofu.

It was definitely pretty obvious there was something suspicious about her when she got that pretty extended screentime and name drop out of nowhere in the finale. I wish they'd done it earlier in the season so it felt more natural (show her interact with Suyin and Korra more, **** even have Korra thank her for helping save her from the RL back when they invaded Zaofu or be the one teaching Korra Metalbending), since it does feel pretty shoe horned in. Regardless, I'm excited to see what she's going to be up to. Bryan said that Book 4 will tie in with Book 3 a lot, so Red Lotus connection is a definite possibility.

plus a major female antagonist i've been waiting for azula's successor for so long :')

Oh how I keep forgetting to give my input on things.

Anyway, Book Three of Legend of Korra is the best the series has been in terms of being consistently good. Like, there's no episode or subplot that I wish they didn't include this time, as opposed to the love triangle and (dragged on) Pro Bending in Book One, or the awkwardly placed detective story and horrible final battle in Book Two. Though Zaheer isn't as colorful a villain as Amon or...whatever the name is of the Book Two villain, he at least didn't seem as "Saturday morning cartoon villain" as the other two. I liked how calm Zaheer stayed throughout the story, and the Red Lotus were pretty cool (though I think they could have used some more fleshing out for Zaheer's band.) Bolin is getting treated better and better as a character, Mako is being written less like a ****** and more like a thinking human, Korra's being smart, and Asami is being really useful.

And that ending....man, that was actually a good cliffhanger.

    ALSO KORRA X ASAMI 5EVER.

    Book 4 Title revealed.

Rumor has it that all production for Book 4 will probably be finished by the end of the year, so we could see the final installment to Korra as early as January. On one hand it's exciting, but I'm also gonna miss all the fanart and stuff that usually come with the longer hiatuses :C (Hiatus until Book 2 was absolutely unacceptable tho). Really hoping Nick doesn't bumrush through Book 4 like they did with Book 3, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Already knew the title for a while now thanks to Wikipedia. :3

For the hiatus part in particular, that wasn't really Nick's fault. It was Mundo Nick's fault for leaking book three, which is what caused book three to air earlier than expected and what also caused book three to be taken off television.

Omg Korra... Please if there is any Tonraq-like amongst all of you, members, Step forward and come to me. What I would give for a man like that * hides *

The season 3 was amazingly great ! I wanted fights and awesome scenes, I freaking got them ! I couldn't have asked for more ! Action everytime, good surprises, nostalgia, jokes are back ! Bolin is funny, and the vilains are so cool. I fear the book 4 will be boring now...
One thing I was disapointed about is the title.
I think we all though that It would be the change about the Spirits living in the '' Human world '' and that Korra will have to do something about it. Instead, nothing has changed [ Either about the spirits , or for the 4 vilains who wanted to change the world - but finally didn't ].
So '' Change '' was a... bad title, from my point of view.

I am sure she's with Tahno... [ Same haircut and face haha or maybe they're familly-related... Haha ]. But yeah I was sure something was going on with her. But... good or bad ?

Well the Dying and stuff as you said was one of the most interesting parts ! I honestly was shocked [ but in a very good way ], to see that even in avatar people die really. When I saw the first death [ the queen ] i was like omg \(OoO)/ for 5 minutes xD And then P'li that was quick and shocking but even more at it was really fast and stunning.

...It's a janky piece of crap? Pausing frequently doesn't work, it takes a long time to buffer, the resolution is inconsistent, and I can't watch a full episode without the player suddenly rewinding 10-15 seconds and playing back through silently until it gets back to where I was at before at least three times.

Sounds like an issue on your end. I haven't really had any problems with it.
