I, for one, think it's stupid that these "Equalists" are trying to get rid of benders. OH BOOOOHOOO THERE HAS BEEN WAR BECAUSE OF BENDERS. Guess what? There will still be wars ANYWAY. Freaking human beings are like that. No matter what happens, bender or not, **** will go down. BOOHOOO A BENDER KILLED MY WIFE. Well, what if a nonbender mugged someone and killed them? Kill all nonbenders?
Benders walking around are killing machines? Like bending matters. Everyone is capable of being a killer. Sure, there are bad ones who use their powers for evil, but there are also good ones.

Lol I know it looks serious, but eh.

Episode 7 was meh in my opinion since it seemed like nothing much went on, but there was that big discovery.

    I HAVE A THEORY!!

So the story's been really focused in Republic City, right? And that's okay since that's where all the action's happening. But what of the rest of the world? Personally I'd like to see what Ba Sing Se, the Fire Nation capital, Omashu (and maybe the secret love tunnel) look like now, and it would be great to explore
especially with Zuko running around exploring the world.
So what better way to move the story out of Republic City than to have Amon pull off a takeover of the city and maybe even burn it to the ground? I can imagine book 1 possibly ending that way, with Korra and the gang sailing or flying away, watching it go up in flames.

I sound evil I know, but yeah, kinda love my theory. Haha

    NEW EPISODE HOLY CRAP

    I HATE TARRLOK FOREVER

I totally want to think he's Amon now, or at least he definitely has some connection to him. I mean, in the flashback Korra had near the end of the episode, it looked like a bunch of the old Team Avatar were going against him and being beaten (Sokka looked like he was being blood-bended, like he did to Korra.)

At least Korra put up a bad-ass battle with him first.

Okay so yeah my theory was wrong. But I just didn't expect Tarrlok to be that extreme @-) It wouldn't take a genius to see that he was deliberately agitating the non-benders of Republic City, so he's clearly got ulterior motives.

Am I the only that wants Bolin to learn from Lin?

    And the episode today...

OMG Tarrlok can bloodbend with no full moon....Dang. Now Katara needs to come and kick his arse!

Oh ma Gawrsh! I knew the second I saw the waterfall in Tarrloks office that there would be some sort of epic fight, but I didn't expect it to be SO epic!! What is this madness! Tarrlok can bloodbend without a full moon. And it looked like in the flashback, Sokka and Toph were being bloodbended, maybe Aang too, but I'm not sure. Maybe Tarrlock he is on Amon's side, or at least is using the equalists to further his plan, to cause outrage against the benders by doing exactly what Amon is accusing them of, thus rallying equalist support and overthrowing the council. He would then be free to rule republic city and with his bloodbending maybe even Amon wouldn't be ale to stand up to him. But then again he did seem to really flip out when Korra compared him to Amon...Hmm. Also, oh my gosh the rest of the council is absolutely useless.

Also I wanted to note that although Tahno is a Water Bender, he looks nothing like the usual water tribe people we see. Descended from Swamp tribe maybe?

That's actually a really good observation. I remember reading in an interview with the creators about naming Korra, and they talked about Water tribe names generally having one or two 'k's and an 'ah' sound. Like Korra, Katara, Sokka, Hakoda, Pakku etc.

The frigging episode was AMAZIIING. That was what I've been waiting for. Tense action that makes you want to know what the **** will happen next.

Dang Im excited for the next episode now, what with everything that's going on now. At first I thought the show would be meh because of how slow it seeme at times, but now awwww yeah.

Dat flasback and dat violence and the dark story unfolding. I like.

THE DEATH SENTENCE HAS BEEN DELIVERED.

Seriously though I don't get the Tarrlok hate. I think he's a magnificent pile of filth. I mean he did utterly trounce my favorite heroine but that... kinda makes him even more awesome. "Ok, you're not half-baked. But I'm TWICE BAKED." You know, that whole deal. Villains are supposed to be bad, they shouldn't get flak for doing their job.

As a character, he's pretty great. Deceptive, yet he's got really good points, and he's an awesome fighter. Yet he's written as such a bad guy, its only natural to despise him. Hope that's understandable.

Sure, but something about the hate comes off weird to me. Maybe it's because I'm a villain fetishist and I can't understand disliking someone who's so damn good at what he does.

You know I heard a hypothesis that he's blood-bending the council's arms every time he calls for a vote of favor? Hard to explain, but if it's true, sweet tomato soup Tarrlok is one diabolical sonofabitch.

@Sforzato - It's always good to have a villain that everyone hates. It's like....liking him, you know? Good for the story, good for us lol.

And I don't think Turdlok would do that with the counsil mems, but still an interesting theory.

It's the villain fans love to hate.
After the last episode, I was relieved to see the story move forward. Such a quick fall for new Team Avatar...
Still, to see blood bending make a comeback was awesome, and having more flashbacks always gets me excited.

I am thrilled they brought blood bending back into the mix. I am still very curious to how he is doing so without the full moon. (random thought, if blood contains iron, couldn't metal bender bloodbend?) I am very curious to where Korra is being shipped off to as well, maybe the Fire Nation? Would love to get some Zuko children in the mix of things.

I don't think so, because iron in the blood is pure iron atoms. They don't contain any impurities, so they wouldn't be able to bend them, same as the reason they couldn't bend the platinum robots last ep.
Haha that would explain why the whole rest of the council are just so friggin useless ALL the time. Though you think they would have caught on after a bit.

Now I've heard a lot of the old Zutara shippers are becoming very vocal, the thought process being that now Aang and Mai are out of the way, Zuko an Katara can have a glorious reunion and make old people love. Thoughts?

    So, tomorrow's episode:

Tenzin and Lin are teaming up to find Equalist hostages (Korra?), while our illustrious Avatar attempts to connect with Aang.

    WHO IS PSYCHED FOR THIS?

According to a clip from A:LoK's Facebook,
Tarlokk claims that Korra had gone to see him the night before to ask him to release her friends, he refused, and before anything else could happen, Equalists attacked. He tried to protect Korra, but he was electrocuted. He woke up to find them, and Korra, gone.
    Freakin' liar.

Also, can we stop using spoilers yet?

New episode was really really really good

Tarrlok trying to blood-bend Amon? lol whatever. SO BADASS.

Really cool finally knowing for sure what Aang's been trying to tell Korra about Tarrlok. And ooooh, dat Asami jelly.

Really looking forward to the season finale, but...I feel like the preview showed a bit too much? Still, excited to probably see Korra go into the Avatar state.

every episode makes me love bo lin more and more. today was no exception

totally wish they would have explained how they learned to blood bend without the moon. i hope it's something they eventually bring up in time.

we've had theories at my house that since amon only uses one hand to take away bending, he's not fully removing the benders' abilities. based on the elaborate preview of the new episode, we're guessing korra looses her bending to amon. then spends the second season discovering that she can get her bending back. which means others will probably get their bending back. that'll cause some mayhem in republic city. all the benders that lost their abilities finally being able to regain their bending. =] should be exciting.

next week looks pretty intense. and as much as i want mako and korra to be together, i really feel bad for asami. mako was being pretty awful today. things are clearly not going to last much longer for them. yay and boo at the same time. poor asami. =/
