I'm looking for a program that could give me the ability to take automatic screen caps while playing a video.

For example, let's say I'm watching an episode of a show or a movie. I want to be able to have a program take a screen cap every second or every other second or whatever.

Does a program like this exist, or am I doomed to manually taking all of my screen caps (which is annoying)?

I personally use KMPlayer. Great for GIFs or when you want to screencap a movie ( or another video). Download, install, and open up a video file. Right-click on the player and choose Capture -> Frame Extract... or simply hit Ctrl + G. The settings are fairly simple from there. I usually take 10 frames/sec when making GIFs, simply because I like to have more than necessary, but it just takes some playing around. =]
