So AWESOME! I've always wanted an AC game set in the American Revolution. Guess my wishes have come true!

Very good point. Other places that might be available are various temples, ruins and such from both native american tribes that were since conquered, or maybe even ruins from Aztec or Mayan civilisations.

Anyone here play Project Legacy on facebook/twitter? It's a surprisingly deep game with a LOT of backstory and bonus info on the series. For example, some of the Pieces of Eden are in the form of Crystal Skulls, which allow telepathic communication. In one of the memory events Giovanni Borgia (Cesare's son, who actually grew up to become an Assassin) stowed away on Heman Cortes' ship to retrieve a Crystal Skull from Tenochtitlan.

So, that may come into play at some point.

i am so pleased that this takes place during the american revolution. like beyond pleased. i love american history and can't wait to see the founding fathers and how they are incorporated into the plot. to everyone who I've seen comment on like game informer, etc. being all butthurt over the fact that it wasn't set in feudal japan kawaii desu get over yourself you know it doesn't fit in with the plot line of the story. besides, you have to finish desmonds plot line first before jumping into another one with perhaps shao jun (who was chinese btw). any who, the box art look great and tomahawks are a plus. i'm hoping this one isn't so dlc-ish as revelations was even though i still loved it to pieces (as i am not a picky gamer). also, like the pictures showed, america was a lot more developed in the late 1700- early 1800s than people give us credit for. whatever, i know people "dislike" america, but honestly I'm not ashamed to be an american and actually really appreciative and intrigued by our history.

*also, yes, renaissance italy and the middle east have much more "history" than america does because it is a young country, but that's us looking at it from a present day perspective. you really can't judge the past like that from today's eyes, everything will look different than how it actually occurred. every country on the face of the earth has war, it's just that america is a young country and obviously hasn't had "time" to become as war-filled or filled with "ancient cultural history" like oh i don't know? ancient rome or the ottoman empire????? ring any bells????

i like the idea of running through revolutionary america, and considering how so many of today's youth are completely ignorant with american history, or history in general, it might do them some good to play a game that incorporates educational elements whether you notice them or not (database info that shaun gives, remember???). i give ubisoft props for the extensive research they do for the assassins creed games and how fluid they are, and it has lead me to more personal research of history out of interest.

    tl;dr: i'm pumped.

Oh my God. I need this game right now. The obsession with Assassins Creed seems like it just won't end. ;_; I'm seeing this everywhere on tumblr so I'm just all asfislguhafladfg at the moment.

I'm kind of hoping he'll still have the hidden blades because those were my favorite weapons in the other games. <<; That's the only thing I honestly really used. But the fact he has a tomahawk just seems a little better than the hidden blades. To be honest, I don't really care if it's in the damn American Revolution. I still think it'll end up pretty damn good, which I'm hoping.

I'm really excited. I really cannot wait.

I wouldn't really tell them to suck it, but I do think people are overreacting a bit. I thought Italy was going to suck in AC2, look how that turned out.

Yeah, true he has a bow, which should be a deadly weapon, but it's not got the same pace as the crossow might have in combat or aiming and loading, etc. I t might be more of a stand back and use gadget.

I don't hate it being set in America because I hate America. I hate it being set in America because things are always set in Americe.
I just find it maddening that 80% of entertainment media is set in America. I probably know my general way around New York and LA from the amount of times stuff has been set there. There are other countries in the world, you know?
When do I ever visit Firenze except in Hannibal Lector films? Or Damascus at all? One in a million.
Washington DC, New York, LA, Chicago, Wisconsin, Texas, Arizona, I can name you tons for them because so much is set in those places. I know more about American states then I probably know about the different counties and cities of the UK.. Which is a little sad I suppose.

I've read so many Historical Fiction books that have such lush locales to go to. with great conspiracy plots and historical characters to meet that i'd love an AC game to explore, but don't go to. It's just a little sad, but i'm sure i'll get over it.
