If anyone asks me to go grab a drink with them, meaning any sort of alcohol, my response will now be "No way in hell" instead of "I'm not of drinking age"

You can still go out for a drink and not drink alcohol. Orange juice is my personal favourite.

I would always rather sit inside eating pizza than drink large quantities of alcohol. I feel like my dad wants me to drink alcohol more than I do.

Everybody needs a designated driver. You also witness amazing things when you're the sober one...

In my limited drinking-age experience imo the problem with alcohol is a) it's expensive and b) it's really not much fun to drink on your own lol chocolate is far superior

That said I do enjoy having a drink on special occasions or with friends. If it's not your thing don't let anybody give you **** about it, obviously it's not a requirement to have fun (sometimes people make it seem that way :v). As long as the people in question are responsible about it though I would really advise being polite to others who do enjoy a drink or ask you if you want one; your friends will probably understand if you just explain you don't drink.

Drinking doesn't always have to result in you getting shitfaced. You can just drink one or two drinks and be done with it.

    This.

Since turning 21 on November 8, 2012, I've only drunk six times:
    • November 8, 2012: 21st birthday
    • January 1, 2013: Shared a drink with my mom for New Year's right at 12:00 AM
    • November 8, 2013: 22nd birthday
    • January 1, 2014: Shared a drink with my mom for New Year's right at 12:00 AM
    • November 8, 2014: 23rd birthday
    • January 1, 2015: Shared a drink with my mom for New Year's right at 12:00 AM
Each time it was only one drink.

My liver would not appreciate one single drink. I'll stick to my soda

It's called control. As long as you don't overdo it, your liver will be fine.

No thanks, even a little bit is too much for my liking. And I would prefer to never experience a hangover, just in case

One beer doesn't give you a hangover.

There are plenty of other things that you've probably consumed semi-regularly that put strain on your liver, like Tylenol for example or, in fact, perhaps even soda.

Alcohol of course is in essence a drug, and it's important to be mindful of its effects on your mind and body and consume it responsibly! Personally before I was old enough to drink I was really scared of it, because sometimes people treat it like you will spontaneously combust if you have any. The media doesn't help -- usually when alcohol is involved it goes hand-in-hand with a disaster, whether it's in a work of fiction or a news story.

The reality for most people is really different; you do not lose all control of yourself or get hungover from a beer or two (honestly I think you'd have to be really really drunk to feel it the next day haha).

I'm not trying to pressure you into drinking of course, if you don't want to you don't want to and that should be respected! But I don't want you to be misinformed; I feel like I used to be.

My reasons still stand, and I have seen what people are like drunk, which I have no intention of acting like. I know all that stuff doesn't happen right away, but I don't want to test my limits. I'll keep away from it altogether. The only sort of alcohol I'd be willing to try, once, with a designated driver, is sake, because most of the time people have that in smaller cups like shot glasses, and it would be only 1 cup...unless I'm a complete lightweight and get drunk easily, which I'm also not interested in finding out

As stated, though, one beer won't have that effect. If it's your first time, you'll probably feel out of it for about 30 minutes, like I did, but not necessarily drunk, which means you won't act like some crazy maniac.

Again, I would prefer not to feel like that at all
