are the pokemon games any good?

Are they? because ive heard from the peepz at my school said they were either ok or they said they were crap. ive never played a pokemon game before, and i want to get the opinions of u game pros here at kh-vids.

 

Personally, I think they are. They are becoming more of a challenge now and I've been a fan since it began 11 years ago. I'm still as much of a fan now as I was back then.

 

sounds like my friends were wrong. i think the reason they said that is because all they play are shooters, so i wanted to come here where its not all shooter-addicts.

 

Well, coming from a Pokemon fan, I say you should at least try them. Also, not many older people will even attempt to get into them, thinking it's childish and stupid. It's true that they are mainly targeted towards children, but there are also some things for older players that involve thinking and strategies.

 

ooh, i like strategic games, i'll see if i can get diamond or pearl and try them out.

 

Actually, they'll be coming out with Platinum, the third in the Diamond and Pearl series, on March 22nd. It's got a lot more things than Diamond and Pearl.

Also, it's strategic because they all have types with strengths and weaknesses. Also, there are puzzles to solve.

 

I think so. They require lots of strategy due to the types of Pokémon (each Pokémon has a type, and each type has weaknesses and strengths to other types) and there are also quite a few in-game puzzles. I've always liked them.
And if I were you, I would wait for Platinum. It comes out March 22nd and has many cool features Diamond and Pearl don't, like the Battle Frontier (think of it almost as a Final Mix for Pokémon, minus the Japanese :))

 

sweet, i think i'll rent diamond or pearl (because Family Video lets you rent DS games now) and ill check it out, and ill report back here with the results

Yep, they're the best games in their kind. Especially now that the new games 'Diamond' and 'Pearl' are for sale :)

But you should wait a while before 'Platinum' comes out.

OMFG i never ever thought i would hear that in my life i mean even if you do not like pokemon it kicks royal a$$ so yeah i recomend cuz i just bought it a week ago POKEMON DIAMOND/PEARL

i mean i do not know bout platinum but i have diamond

Yeah...the anime sucks now.But the games are awsome.Liek pokemon Diamond and Pearl.Or Ruby,Sapphire,Emerald.And Leafgreen adn Firered.

If you like the old.Try red,blue,and yellow.I highly recommend them.

Well it depends what you're looking for. If you want a fast paced kind of game, it's not for you. But if you like strategy games, I'd give them a shot. I remember when I got my first Pokemon game. Ahhhh the good ol days...

 

I thought Emerald was pretty good, but Gold and Silver were the best to me.
