Video Anyone want to join a MEP?

So by now I think it's prettymuch settled; we're going to do a WORM (unless we find a suuuuper long song that everyone likes). So you can get started on your parts whenever you like, make them... Oh... does 20-45 seconds sound okay? Then just upload 'em somwhere and one of us can compile them. There's no specific date they need to be in by or anything (yet).
(Also, we can still take more people).

 

Is it OK if I use the widescreen settings for Youtube? (640x360)
Would that mess anything up?

 

Are we going to have a color theme? Most WORMs do, so each part doesnt look too out of place <3

 

I presume only Kingdom Hearts footage?

 

Haven't done an AMV in forever, but I'd like to hop on this. I take it we're using clips from KH?

 

Uhh I don't see why not o_o.
It might be better to use regular though, I'm not sure DX. The difference in resolution could cause yours to be ultraa wide and everyone else's this little box in the middle.

Oh, about that. Yeah, but I'm thinking that since we have so many people we could just use whatever we like as well. If other people agree with that then you can use clips from Final Fantasy or your favorite anime or something, too... What do you all say?

EDIT: Woaaah active topic. I haven't thought about a color scheme/theme either. o__o Anyone have something in mind?

 

Probably a movie-like theme, to go with the beginning of big summer movies comin' out. I'd say to stick with Kingdom Hearts and the Final Fantasy series, so that more people will recognize them.

 

I was just going to do mine in the normal KH style, with only a saturation enhancement. I don't really plan out every step of my videos before I make them. I just let them evolve naturally.

 

Sorry for double-posting, but my Vegas is working fine for the moment, so I'll definitely be involved in this.

BTW, if you're putting together some kind of intro (some people do) using characters for the participants, use Ven for me.

Also, I can make an intro if you guys want one. Sorry about letting this get a bit outdated, I've been busy lately...

what format should we save our parts as? ^^

I'd say anything that's relatively high quality -- as the quality will decrease a bit anyway when it's saved again in the final project -- and isn't .mp4, .mov or .avi. The latter two tend to end up rather large and .mp4 & .avi files tend to have issues working with Vegas, which will probably be used to compile the parts (and even if it isn't, .mp4 files don't even work with WMM).

I usually render to .wmv. If you're unable to save in a format that works (i.e. you're on a Mac, which generally saves to .mp4/.mov formats), I do have a file converter on my computer, although again, it'll probably decrease quality quite a bit.

 

You do know that Mac users can also save to QuickTime as well, although i'm not sure if that would work with Vegas since i've not used QuickTime on it.

Btw, should we not have a list of what songs people will be using so we don't get the same song a few times?

 

Quicktime = .mov & .mp4, or at least I was under that impression o_o Is it something else?

And I didn't even think of that... But yeah, we definitely should. So I guess... everyone just post the song you're using and I'll add it next to your name on the participant list ^^;.
