I grew up with it, and I still find the occasional scenes with Dean funny, but I don't think I could watch the full movie again.
It's called the Iron Giant. Now that you know what it's called, go watch it. You don't have any excuse anymore. Seriously though, it's been so long since I've seen this movie, I forgot about most of this scene. The Giant making a splash definitely stuck though.
Do you not like animated films or...? Just curious. I love The Iron Giant, really great film imo. Not wholly original but nicely executed. Brad Bird is a fantastic director.
Nah, just growing up I always found it a little too boring. I enjoyed a nice view of it now and then, and when I was even younger, I might have watched like crazy, but I also owned a giant ton of pixar and disney movies, and watched them all like an addict, but Iron Giant was one of them that never stuck with me that well. But like I said, I still enjoy the occasional scene with Dean like this one. I always laughed so hard my ribs hurt.
Ahh, gotcha. It was sort of the other way around for me as a kid -- the film was a little intense for me and I always got scared part-way through. I actually didn't see the movie in its entirety until a couple years ago. I remember they used to show it on Cartoon Network a lot and I always shut it off. :v Interesting how it had sort of the opposite effect on you, lol. But yeah, I agree this scene is pretty excellent. Makes me want to watch it again, haha. Too bad Netflix has a habit of removing all of my favorite movies from streaming j_j
Yeah, my family had a fun amount of VHR movies, and like I said, a lot of them were disney and pixar, like the Christmas Beauty and the Beast, A Bug's Life, which is funny, because I found Hopper a little creepy growing up; there was also Lion King 2, Little Mermaid, Cinderella, and probably a few others that I can't remember. Of course I remember the famous ones, and not the others -_-
Iron Giant was the first movie I saw on Netflix when I finally got an account. It was pretty nice seeing it again although my memory of it is already foggy again
