Anyone here who doesn't like SoKai?

I don't believe that Sora and Kairi are really "canon", and I already know that the fangirls are going in a huge rampage over it.

No but seriously, even though they are somewhat underdeveloped as mentioned before, there are fairly strong hints that they may have feelings for one another (Sora sacrificing himself for Kairi, in the end of KH 2 when Sora shows Kairi the flower pin, Kairi and Sora's cave drawings, etc). I will admit, I would like it if SoKai did end up being canon.

I don't even have a concrete reason why I'm not a particular fan of them.
Maybe it's just Kairi.
I dislike her for some reason.
I have always been a solid fan of Roxas x Naminè and Aqua x Terra.
To me, Sora x Kairi just seems a bit silly.

I don't like SoKai, but I don't hate it either. It's just that I find their relationship (romantic wise) to be a bit boring. I think they make adorable friends, though.

 

i like it, i dont necessarily like the romance aspect of it, but i felt like it carried the first game on its shoulders. the whole time i was playing the game i felt like i was playing as a character trying to get his love interest back rather than a friend, this really became key in hb, where the story reached its climax. it wasnt till i finished the game that the impact of this relationship set in on me. Im not going to speculate the validity of the relationship, or how much evidence there is, because frankly i dont care. Although i feel like the relationship is being kept ambiguous enough so that the series doesnt alienate the people who are playing the game. If this relationship ever became a prominent aspect the games would certainly decrease in story value, because then you have to maintain the relationship so it doesnt come off as a contrivance that seems like it was there just to satisfy the players, which is good because thats what i like, theres enough there for you to tell that there may be a subtle relationship, but nothing to prove that there is one.

 

I really, REALLY like SoKai. I just find it sweet that Sora traveled to lots of worlds just to find/save Kairi. And for the fact that they were made for each other.

 

I'm indifferent towards Sokai and kh shipping in general. I don't particularly like any of the ships including Sokai but I do not dislike any of them either.

 

I personally like the idea of SoKai, but I cannot accept it as a canon pairing even with the idea of a paopu fruit in the middle of it all. I believe it is the closest to a canon pairing this series has gotten, but I feel like the whole point of the storyline is to promote friendship as a form of love and the strength of friendship

Because after all (everyone screenshot this because you will never hear me quote My Little Pony ever again) FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC.

 

I don't dislike Kairi, I just think she doesn't have a that important role in the series but tries to act as she would be important.
I can't really take her seriously, 'cause she tends to appear only in dreams, memories or whenever she needs to be rescued.
Also, I think SoKai is a pairing with much potential, which isn't that good developed in the series. Kairis relationship to Sora sometimes even annoys me.
I think I would love this pairing if SE would take Soras and Kairis relationship for real, but in my opinion they just wanted "a girl for the hero", so there's Kairi.

But I think romantical relationships aren't that important in KH actually. Where do we have any other couple? Nowhere, I think KH wants to show us how important friendship is and how important it is to fight for the people you love.
That's all.
And that's also a reason why I think, SoKai is kinda unrealistic.

 

I don't dislike SoKai but I don't like it. What I dislike is Roxas x Naminé. The only reason they would ever be together is because of Sora and Kairi.

 

Ok i kinda dislike this ship.Main reaon because i dob t really like kairi as a character. I lost faith in her at the end kh 2,i went to the ends of the earth to save that girl and all i get in return is a hug...Sorry but i was expecting a bit more than.just a hug but the thing is that i also felt that she was to much like a damsel in distress and i didn t appreciate the fact that she managed to forget Sora(the guy who saved her life) in a year . But i was happy when she said in TWTNW at the end of the game " this time i ll fight" it made me thibk she might somehow become useful and potentisl party member . But then quickly redrew that thought when she had a swing at the weakest heartless in the gamee. But that then anyways i was kinda happy at the end of Ddd to know that sheay come in useful. But she is still obe of my most hated kh female characters i think Sora deserves a real women like Aqua.

 

I like Sora x Kairi just fine. I'm not really the shipping type (aside from canon pairings) unless two characters really stand out to me as being a good match in my mind. I do not like yaoi or yuri, however.

I know that Nomura said there were no canon pairings in KH, but I can't help but notice that Sora x Kairi seems a bit more pronounced in this regard. The "just good friends" thing doesn't sit well with them. A few powerful scenes really help bring this out:

1. The paopu fruit comes up as a particularly strong example for many reasons. Early on in the game, Nomrua makes it quite plain that Sora has a thing for Kairi. He accepts Riku's challenge to race with the prospect of being the one to share a fruit with Kairi. Riku teases him about it endlessly. Sora draws a picture of himself on the wall of his and Kairi's secret cave--a picture of himself sharing a fruit with Kairi. Later, Kairi finds the picture and returns the gesture. Still later, Sora finds the completed picture and seems settled in his mind.

2. Sora begging Saix for news about Kairi. Sora's pretty cocky in KH2, and the fact that he went to such humiliating lengths in order to get word about Kairi seems like a pretty strong indicator to me. I suppose that this could be argued as a friendship thing as well, but not in the light of the whole paopu fruit issue.

3. Sora thinking about Kairi in KH2. One scene in particular occurs in Halloween Town, when he sees Jack dancing with Sally and instantly envisions himself dancing with Kairi. Jack and Sally are obviously lovers. I think the paralellism speaks for itself.

4. Sora and Kairi's reunion. This is a point that fans say quite a bit over, because Sora hardly reacts to Kairi's appearance, but falls to his knees and weeps over Riku. You've got to remember that the last time Sora saw Riku, he was being locked behind the door to darkness. Right before that, Riku had been possessed by Ansem himself. Kairi, on the other hand, is safe (albeit far away) and Sora knows that. It's very understandable that he would be more emotional about finding Riku. He's been incredibly worried about his friend every since Riku began dabbling in darkness.

I also think that Sora's reaction to Kairi is perfectly realistic. He likes her, and he's shy about showing that (as can be seen throughout the series). He's not sure how to react to seeing her, and all he can do is make some awkward remarks about how she looks different and that he's glad she's alright. When Kairi finally hugs him, they have a silent moment that speaks volumes.

5. Sora thanking Ansem (Riku) for saving Kairi. This shows just how releaved Sora is to have Kairi safe and sound. Ansem was Sora's worst enemy up to this point in the game. He's the person responsible for possessing Riku, destroying Sora's home, and separating him from Kairi--not to mention causing a lot of destruction to the other worlds. The fact that Sora goes so far as to stop Ansem in order to thank him is pretty significant. Kairi must mean a lot to him in this case.

Just some thoughts to chew on. Sorry for the excessive rambling xD

 

Sora and Kairi's relationship does seem a little...underdeveloped. It's definitely hinted at throughout the series, though. I'll be disappointed if Sora does not give Kairi a paopu fruit in KH 3. ;)

 

I will only accept a romance if it ends up being the most complicated part of the KH story
For example, suppose Sora and Kairi are both attracted to eachother... but in reality they are both forms of Xehanort, and teh two forms are trying to fuse back together, but they think it's romance. But then, through time travel, the piece of Xehanort gets sent to Roxas in the past who then possesses Riku creating a temporal love triangle, however, this causes two Kingdom Keys to exist at one time, which causes Xehanort to be reborn in the shape of Namine, but is partially influenced by Sora's 'love' for Kairi and Riku's jealousy, and as such travels back in time in order to possess both Sora and Kairi, causing them both to become forms of Xehanort, but as a result putting a piece of the future Sora and future Kairi's hearts inside the past forms of them, which causes them to be able to wield a third keyblade. However, as a result of this heart fracturing, three copies of Roxas and Xion are created, only to all fuse back with Sora, but in turn giving him all of their hurt, which overwhlems Sora, causing him to be possessed by Xehanort, and losign his heart, and with it the ability to wield a keyblade, and Kairi becomes a form of Xhenaort. But then Eraqus reveals his plan by freeing himself from part of Terra's mind and protecting Kairi's heart from Xehanort, sacrifcing himself to free her from his possession, and so she travels back in time and performs the keyblade succession ritual on Sora and then gives him one of her keyblades in the future which restores his heart allowing him to stop Xehanort... for now
And then they kiss
Then I'll accept SoKai
It won't feel right otherwise

 

That's funny, I meet a lot more SoKai haters than lovers.

I think it's sweet, and it's painfully canon in KHI, which I hold in higher regard as a rule. Hell, even in KHII, Sora gets down on his hands and knees and BEGS FOR HER RELEASE. Not an ounce of hesitation, screw pride, I want my baby back. That's dedication.

well they definatly have theirmoments and the're a much better coule then Riku x Kairi, for those who hate me for that last part there is proof. when kairi lost her heart it was sent to the person she has the strongest feelings for. thats Sora.

 

And I'm sure that heart thing had NOTHING to do with the fact that it physically COLLIDED with Sora.
And also Riku had been consumed by darkness

 

i like sokai sora is the savior and kairi is the princess(like mario x peach and link x zelda) and they make a cute couple(plus i dont like to see yaio game characters)
