Video Anyone have the KH/KHII opening and ending FMVs?

I've been having a lot of trouble finding them. I'd like to make an AMV, but there's been a lot of obstacles. And nearly every download I've found has had some kind of problem. The videos are either in an unusable format, poor quality, or have subs or watermarks. There's also size issues. I need the videos themselves to be the same size when you play them, or else the AMV won't look right. The format has to be something like wmv or avi, and the quality has to be good. No watermarks, and no subs. Can anyone help me?

 

Have you tried downloading them from the cutscene archive?

Visiting the page to download the Kingdom Hearts opening resulted in a virus attempting to attack my computer. Norton was able to block it, thankfully. This happened every time I tried to visit the page. The download itself wouldn't work after that. I'd click on it, then it would just take me right back to the same page where it would ask me to "click here to download" again.

The Kingdom Hearts II opening had subs, and the quality was terrible.

 

That is so weird, because I've never had trouble with any of them. And I don't remember the KHII opening having subs, but I could be wrong. It's been a while since I downloaded the clips to make an amv.

Have you tried KH13.com? I haven't downloaded from them before because they don't really have English cutscenes - just Japanese ones, so I'm not entirely sure about the quality of them or if they contain subtitles or not. Lol, I'm really not much help.

 

Just tried it. No luck. With all the people out there who make AMVs, I'd like to believe someone has what I need. This series is so popular, so it doesn't make sense that it's so hard finding one sight that has them.

It's only KH2 FMVs (including BBS Secret, & Gathering), so it doesn't have KH1 FMVs. I'll keep finding them once I do.

 

That's not really going to work.D : As I said, I need them to be the same size. More often than not, that's not the case. The best bet is to download them all from the same place or to get them from someone who already has them and can verify their size. Just finding the videos alone is not hard, it's getting them all to meet the criteria listed in my first post that is the challenge.

P.S. i'm not just here to promote them but their clips are better than a lot i've seen (except for the ones form the torrent on Youtube. Those are 10x's as amazing)

 

That was where I originally got my clips from, some time ago. If I remember, they were not high quality, at least the KHII ending had subs, and I believe the videos were not the same size.

 

Well as far as i've seen the clips are in good quality(except for the part where you learn that Xemnas is Xehanort's nobody). And if you need it to be the same size then find someone with Vegas and ask them to crop them and upload them to Mediafire or something.

 

That's not really an option either. First, as I've stated, I'm pretty sure those clips are not good quality. Second, by the time they are edited by someone, some quality is bound to be lost. Third, that's not as easy as you might think. It is very hard to find someone who only has those programs, but is willing to do all that work. And making all the clips the same size is extremely difficult.: (

 

I would do it if my comp didn't block sites like Mediafire and Megaupload. Sorry. :(

 

I may have a solution, but I will need some help. I have a program that can rip high-quality videos from PS2 disks. Here is what would be needed:

-A computer with a DVD-ROM drive. A friend of mine tried on her laptop, and it did not work. Not sure if this problem would arise with all laptops or just hers.

-The discs for Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II.

-Access to a site like MegaUpload, so you can upload the extracted files for me.

-WinRAR or some other unzipping program.

If you would like to help, please give me your Instant Messenger info. What do you get out of it? A really impressive FMV-extracting program.

 

I've done that with KH1 and I'm working on doing that for KH2 (it's a bit more complicated and a lengthier process). The problem is, they don't come out at the same resolutions; KH1 averages around 640 by 400 (though the secret endings are much different) and most if not all of the KH2 videos are 512x358 iirc.

If you'd like I can upload them to Mediafire, I was waiting until I had a complete set, and I wanted to see if I could get the file size down a bit, but if it's urgent I can get them up most likely tomorrow.

And no, that still won't help me. If I could deal with the size differences on my own or get somebody to help me with that, then I would not have needed to post here.

 

Well KH1 is quite easy because some guy made extractors for it. Traditional FMV extracting methods wouldn't work with it, because it's compressed weirdly, but the extractors I believe were made using hex editing.

KH2 does work with the more traditional FMV extraction method, let me describe the process:
1. Rip the ISO to your computer. (10 minutes, varies based upon your CD drive)
2. Split the ISO using The File Splitter (20 minutes)
3. Run each part through Nova Software extractor, extracting the PSS files. There's I think five. (20-30 minutes)
4. Use PSS Demux to get an M2V file, a WAV file, and a DAT file. (about 1 minute per file)
5. M2V file is the video, but the format may not be accepted by your editor, so you'll have to convert it. I make it into a high quality AVI with Virtual Dub, which can take a very long time and outputs large files. That's later corrected by Vegas though. (can take like 20 minutes per file, depending on the length of the video and your computer)
6. The audio is tough: the WAV file PSS Demux gives you is basically just static & other nonsense, so you have to bring the DAT file into a hex editor, add an atrac3 header to it, and save it as a WAV. (about 3 minutes per file for me, but hex editing is confusing for me so I go slow)
7. The WAV file that your hex editor gives you will resemble the FMV's proper audio, but it will have pitch & speed problems. You'll need to edit it to have the proper pitch/speed (usually fixing the speed fixes the pitch). (about 2 minutes per file, if you know what you're doing)
8. Then you have to mux the video and audio together and render it out. I use Vegas and it takes a while, depending on the length of the video. For the ending with the credits it can take like 20 minutes to half an hour.

As for resizing the videos, you could try using Virtual Dub. It's a tough program to get used to if you're coming from something basic like Movie Maker, but it's free and I believe there's a resizing option in it.

 

I don't know about the in-game scenes, but the program I have extracts lots of FMVs into M-PEG 4 format. Playable right from the ripping.

I really can't download and run anymore programs on my PC. I've tried that program before, and it never worked well. I'm really not interested in resizing at this point. Maybe someone will have the stuff I listed and be willing to help me.
