Kingdom Hearts II Anyone else notice this crap?

    if the cutscenes from KH2 take up alot of room, then imagine how much ALL the scenes take up from all KH games.
    How does Deathspank do it?
    anyways, yeah, it's always bugged me, although i do laugh about Saïx's missing nose though.

    :mad: is it me, or the king has gained a little weight? and why cant they make the game on ps2? that freken sucks!!! i mean, how am i soppose to play it if i have only have a ps2. im steaming mad!!!! :mad:

    I guess its just too time-consuming to put things into complete detail. After all, the KH series is definately on popular demands and obviously Square tries to satisfy the fans as fast and much as they can. I mean, at times they only have the characters open and close their mouths with absolutely no lip sync. But if you ignore those kinda things and just look at it in a bright side, its really not that bad I guess.

    The flat faces are the low-polygonal models, and the more three-dimensional ones are the high-polygonal models. I think low-polygonal runs smoother during combat, so when you're fighting with Sora you're using a low-polygonal model of him. In important cutscenes, they switch to high-polygonal.

    I noticed something similar in Final Fantasy X, but it doesn't show up as much because the characters look much more realistic to start with. Also, if you notice, the low-plygonal models aren't lip-synched. That's because they use a change in texture to make the mouths look like they're moving on those models. In a cartoon environment like KH, it seems to show up more than it does when the characters look a bit more real.

    But, for some reason, Sora's appearance in low-polygonal REALLY bothers me in KH2. I don't know why.

    Man, I used a heck of a lot of hyphens ^^;;.

    I think there's like three levels of quality game designers use for cutscenes.

    Highest - Movie style, ending and opening sequences.
    Average - The normal cutscene, it's not at all as high quality as movie, but is above in-game graphics.
    Lowest - Some cutscenes use this level, insignificant ones particularly. Also the quality of in-game graphics.

    People ranting about PS3. KH [whatever it will be] isn't going to come out for a while. By then, no one will even be making games for the PS2 [as they don't for the original XBOX anymore]. Prices of the PS3 will have dropped by then, and most of you'll be fine. :3

    I noticed that after watching few cutscenes before.Cos it doesn't bother me very much.
    When we are fighting or going to fight,all the characters also using the low-polygonal model.They also use them when they speaking whith bubbles.
    We can also find out which one is high or low.We can see their mouth and eyes are not very smooth when using low-polygonal model.You can see more in KHI and thats why I don't like it very much.
    But don't be upset about these cutscenes because at least one whole part doesn't have any low-polygonal model.After we defeat the last Xemnes(spell wrong?),The whole of part Sora & Riku talking all in high-polygonal model.

    I noticed that, but it doesn't bother me...

    Think about it - it probably takes a FOREVER to make those 3d graphics like that... They do it like that to save time so that the games can come out sooner.

    Seems like a fair trade to me...

    Haha, true...The fans were probably pestering them throughout the entire project, soo...It's only fair. We wanted it sooner, we got it sooner, but we lost some quality.

    Besides, they did the same thing in KH1 with the high/low polygonal models.

    I agree with 2Foxxie4U. I don't mind it, though it would be nice if whole game could be high def. But this is reality and reality is...Weird.

    Lol I no exactly what u mean...xD that happens to sora alot on the game. Like far away his face is flat and when it is close its like...yeah u know!

    I noticed this as well. It bugged me the most with Saix, because he just looked like some kind of alien. The others, not so much, because at least they put in all the facial features. lol. I loved the cutscene segment that's in my sig, because it's one of the only ones where Saix actually looks human, and how he's supposed to.
