Portable game stations like the PSP and DS are in my opinion not worth it. I've played and borrowed the PSP and I'm not much of a fan and all my friends say the DS isn't worth it. And for both portable game stations there are only a handful of games I would even think of purchasing. I think games like Crisis Core and upcoming games like 358/2 Days and Birth By Sleep should be remade to play on the Xbox 360, PS3, and maybe even the Wii. Anyone else care to give their opinion on this matter?
The PSP and the DS probably have the largest libraries of worthwhile games out of this entire generation.
This^ And I think the fact that the people behind C.C. and the Kingdom Hearts games are branching is good, mainly because it appeals to a wider range of people. Its pretty much a win win situation. More people get to play, companies make more money.
Console sales are going down in Japan, for whatever reason; many people prefer the portable consoles. That's why so many games are being made for them.
I have a really long train ride to school so I enjoy handhelds a lot. My psp keeps me from falling asleep out of boredom and missing my stop. I can't deal with the kids-leaning-over-your-shoulder-thing-to-watch-what-you're-playing aspect though.
i'm probably one of those kids doing that, lol. i personally like handheld systems and games. but if i didn't have to play them outside of home, i would choose to play them on a television so that i wouldn't have to deal with finding good lighting, having cramped finger space, and very small screen.
This are all good reasons, I'm still a little sketchy on them. But I still believe that Crisis Core and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts games should be on the main games stations. I don't want to have to go out and buy a PSP or DS just to play only a few games I want.
This is the truth seeing how the Wii only seems to sell crap mini game bundles or decent games that'll you'll never hear of again because their all trying to do something new with the remote system. The PS3 is lacking in games because Xbox is buying out all the games originally for the PS3 and Sony are just sat in their chairs going, "F*ck", and the Xbox seems to only be getting shooting games at the top of its list while handheld gets classics or remakes and even spin-offs with multiple playing styles from multiple generations of gaming. In other words, if you don't like shooting games or can't wait for the next instalment of a series your better of with a handheld. In my opinion anyway.
Yes, lets ignore No More Heroes, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros, Fire Emblem, Zelda, etc. and make the horribly incorrect claim that there is nothing worth playing on the Wii... Or the developers are realizing that exclusives limit their audience and potential sales? I don't know about you, but out of the 12 games I own for my 360, only 2 of them are shooters. Another horribly incorrect stereotype. The only remakes/ports I own on my DS or PSP are Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Chrono Trigger and Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness. Chrono Trigger is the only one I played heavily before getting the handheld version, FFT is because I wanted to give the game a second shot and found that I STILL don't care for it, Fire Emblem is a remake of a game that was never released outside of Japan before and the only reason I have the PSP version of Disgaea is because, until two weeks ago, I didn't have a working PS2 and I missed the PS2 version of it. Remakes and ports aren't the only things worth playing on the DS or PSP. I have just as many games for Gameboy, DS and PSP as I do for my Wii, PS2, XBox, Gamecube and 360. Handhelds and consoles are two different beasts. Both have plenty of games worth playing. Consoles have power and capabilities handhelds won't be capable of until YEARS after the console with same capability was released. At the same time, despite being less powerful, handhelds can be taken pretty much anywhere. Basically, you shouldn't ignore handhelds or consoles based on bias or popular claims.
Uh, excuse me? That has nothing to do with this. My point here is to see other people ideas on if the portable game stations are really worth purchasing. Cause many of my friends say they are boring and have few games that are worth buying. I'm just giving my opinion on this and seeing others idea on this matter. This has nothing to do with the company who makes the game.

I can understand the PSP not being so much worht it but i mean COMMON!!! The DS is only like friking awesome!!! i love my DS with a passion i mean i get to play all my favorite FF games on the go! The PSP is getting better no doubt but Nintendo DOMINATES the handheld world of today!
SO! What Flashcart do you have? I personally belive that Handhelds a lame if you have to pay 35$ for a game no bigger that your eye... Im not saying ANYTHING, but I "know a guy who knows a guy" that has a cycloDS, he says that he wouldnt buy a handheld if you couldnt play "backups" on them XD
