Then they'll just do it the day after that. What difference does it make?
It's not a change of law that is necessary, it is a change in some people's mentality. I am seriously drunk at the moment, but I'm level-headed enough to know at least that.

Another example of why gun laws in the USA need to be tightened. This had nothing to do with the fact it was Black Friday (an odd name in itself), it was just a coincidence that it happened on that day.

It's called Balck Friday because when stores are in the red, they have more stock than what they're selling, so they need to be in the black to be safe, which is the whole point of the day.

Ah...never heard it put that way...my manager (I'm a retail peon here...lol) likes to think it's called Black Friday because he writes his gains in black, and losses in red. On Black Friday, he runs out of black pens because he's done so much business. Of course, this man is the same guy who'll strut into work with an M&M tie on because it's Payday.

    /end slight off-topicness

Anyway, when I said Black Friday should be banned, yeah maybe that'd be a stretch, but seeing as how people are willing to come to blows over deals now it might not seem like such a far-fetched idea anymore. I was trying to see it from the viewpoint of how many more lives, if any, have to be lost because people nowadays are just too greedy for their own good.

Which is exactly why eBay, Amazon, and several other online sites have become my best friends. No crazy crowds. And no one's gonna shoot me through the computer screen if I snap up the last PSP Bundle.

This is a tragic event and I would not put it in with other things that happened just because it's Black Friday when it did. The 4 people involved obviously had very personal issues with one another and this wasn't a squabble over merchandise and buying things, like what had happened with the Walmart employee.

Those who think Black Friday should be banned... uh no. Just because there are a few idiots out there that mess up things, it doesn't mean others out there did not do the right things and why should those who do the right thing be punished for those who can't act responsibly? Should we take away any holiday or festivity or event because of -the few-? It's lame to do so and shows how weak people truly are because they must destroy an all around event because they are afraid and full of anger over other things. The thing to do is punish the wrongdoers and we continue life. Sacrificing many other people's personal freedoms and just the simple joys of life and rights we have is not what makes us who we are. We are stronger when we don't let fear make decisions for us because when we do let fear and anger do that, we are not even being close to logical.

This is not a war. You'd think differently because you had to in those circumstances where violence is around you day in and day out. Stopping a single 'shopping day' won't stop violence from happening, such as is the case here. It's convenience it happened. At least in this case, the only ones to die are the actual gunmen. We don't close schools because gunmen go in and shoot people in killing sprees of stupidity. We move on. The same should be the case here. The Walmart employee incident in my opinion is much more connected to Black Friday...but in the end, it's simply connected to the fact that there are idiots in this world that need removed from our streets to rethink their lives. They become self-absorbed and could care less about others so we deal with them. I really don't get why there are some people that do these idiotic maneuvers because Black Friday isn't even as cool as it used to be before everyone knew about it through advertising. You don't find the sales you did even 5 years ago now. I don't bother to wake up early and go out for it, and yes, I prefer to do my shopping on other days, because I don't like dealing with a bunch of people around, but I still would not consider removing a day others choose to do so.

In the end, tragedies happen and there will be people that do things out of irrational fits of anger, jealousy and greed. We should not be stooping to their levels by responding with fear and hatred so that we sacrifice things for them. We are stronger than that and if people aren't, they should not be making decisions for the 'good' of everyone else. It's simply not rational.
