OK, so my fat PS1 recently died on me, so I've decided to switch to PSX emulation. I need to find a way to make an ISO image from the original CDROMS of the games, since my comp sucks at emulation from a CD drive.

Chrono Cross works perfectly, but all of my other games work fine until the get to about 30-40% done ripping, then drop to only moving up .1 percent every ten minutes.

So I need some suggestions to help get this working better, since I don't want to waste a perfect mint copy on FF7 :D

I've trie almost every CD program, such as CloneCD and Alcohol 52%, but I get the same error no matter what.

    Nonworking games:
Final Fantasy VII, IX, Tactics, Anthology.

    Working games:
    Chrono Cross

    Any help, guys?

I've never before had issues with DVD Decrypter, though I've only used it for PS2 games. Still, it's worth a shot. You can find it here: http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/

Just a side note too, it is legal to download the ISO of something if you own it physically, if I remember correctly.

It's not legal to download, only to rip. Just for future reference.

Problem: DVD Decrypter only works with DVDs. [PSX games are CD]

Alcohol is very sensitive with CDs, and pops up an error when it finds one, and stops the whole process.
CloneCD I'm not sure, I don't think I have ever tried it. If it goes on even with 1% every 10 minutes, then leave it, it's not the faulty program but the CD's bad physical condition.
If you want to try something else to see if it works better, try:
    ImgBurn: www.imgburn.com
    or
    CDRwin: www.goldenhawk.com/cdrwin.htm
Run ImgBurn or CDRwin, choose to Create image file from disc or extract disc, choose a title for PS1 game and press start.

    UPDATE:

MagicISO: Works, ISO is corrupted and unusable.
Alcohol 52%: Stops around 40%, moves VERY slowly, gets timed-out.
DVD Decrypter: Don't know CD Settings
    CLoneCD: Same as always
Imgburn: Moves slowly at 90%, gets error at 95%
    CDRWIN: Won't go past 0%

I'm not sure but for DVD Decrypter there aren't many settings to adjust, just go to the mode tab, go to ISO->Read, select your Reader & Destination directory (along with filename) where to store the ISO image the Decrypter will create for you.
Next simply click the copy symbol in bottom of the window and dvd decrypter will start ripping the disc and creating an ISO image file to your HDD.
But I am not sure if it will work for CDs, I only know it works with DVDs.

Downloading games you own is kind of a gray area.

It seems like your games are defective. I would just download them.

Yeah, turns out all that needed changed was to wash them with eyeglass cleaner, and now they work fine from emulating through the CD-ROM drive. False alarm.

Thanks for help, and sorry, guys D:
