My girlfriend wants to know what this is from, and I don't know, I ask you oh more knowledgeable members.

 

Death Note.

 

Whaaat, I watched Death Note, when does he appear?

 

Matt only appears for like ~20 seconds throughout the entire anime, so it'd be easy to forget him. He's a fan favorite though. Lots of fan art of him, probably because of how cool he looks.

 

Huh, well the more you know, we've both watched it and neither of us could remember, though if he's as rare in the show as you say i'm not surprised, I'd be upset with myself if I say forgot who Near was, but since it's just some pointless character my life goes on.

 

He appears during the Mello/Near arc, which is probably why he is so forgettable. He has a bit of a bigger role in the manga (he is still very forgettable, just only like, two more useless scenes with him) but much of that part of the manga is a blur to me.

HOW TO FIND THE SOURCE SERIES OR CHARACTER NAME FROM AN IMAGE

Google search the image URL by image and view all sizes. If you are lucky, one of the picture names will have the series or character in the file name or will be hosted on a page where people are talking about the series.

In the case of a Tumblr image where you cannot find any other sources for the image but Tumblr, go to the Tumblr page that contains the image (found through Google Images) and go to the post by the person who originally posted it. They will probably have tagged either the series, the character or both when they first uploaded it.

That is how I found it.

 

Simplified for you, as Near was much more enjoyable to watch hunt Kira than L, and half the stuff he did didn't seem so ludicrous.

OH YES THAT'S RIGHT. I don't like L, come at me.

 

It is easier to let you bother with a character that has little to no likable qualities aside from intelligence than to come to you about it.

 

Personally, I liked both L and Near. L had more personality and he was more likable, but Near was just incredibly intelligent and cocky about it.

 

Sighing about Death Note.

 

Like the part where he magically knew that Mikami was the 3rd Kira based on the vaguest of deductions?
Atleast Kira and L had some chemistry with eachother, Near was just a brat.

 

Meh, I guess to each his own.

 

Mello was the best

 

No, really. Near was just interesting because he was unrealistically smart and L was a drudged up stereotype. Mello might have been pretty terrible but his relationship with Near made him one of the few things I enjoyed in that show.

 

I should probably watch the show before I dig myself a deeper grave.

 

I didn't really enjoy Death Note.
Aside from Ryuk, the show wasn't my cup of tea.
