Leah didn't respond. She gently squeezed his hand. She wasn't sure exactly what to think.

 

"Please don't be upset." he said.

 

"I'm... not upset..." Leah said, softly. "I'm sorry... I can't think..."

 

"Alright." he said.

 

Leah smiled softly. "You should get some rest..." She said, softly. "It's been a long day for you... And you're going to need alot of rest to get better... "

 

"You'll need to rest too." he said.

 

Leah shook her head. "I'll be fine..." She said and smiled.

 

"Don't you want to rest with me?" he asked.

 

Leah wanted to lighten the mood a bit. "Will you protect me from the monsters in the closet...?" She asked and grinned.

 

He chuckled. "You need protecting?" he asked. "But I thought you were a powerful vampire. What can a mere human like me protect you from?"

 

"Even a vampire like me can't beat the closet monsters..." She said and giggled. "Even a human can be stronger than a vampire..." She grinned.

 

He smiled and tried to make room on the bed. "Come on in and I'll keep you safe from all the closet monsters."

 

Leah smiled and giggled, glad to see that both of their spirits were lifted, a bit. She laid down on the bed next to him and cuddled close to him. "My hero..." She said and grinned.

 

He grinned back at her and asked "Can this hero get a kiss?"

 

"Of course..." Leah said and kissed him on the lips.

 

He kissed her back.

 

Leah blushed and broke the kiss before she lost control. She smiled softly. "Now you get some rest..." She said and grinned.

 

"You'll be here when I wake up, right?" he asked.

 

Leah was surprised when he asked that. She closed her eyes and hugged him gently, not letting go. "Of course..." She said. "I'm not going anywhere..."
