Leah suddenly coughed and grunted uncomfortably, clutching the bed covers, a bit, though she did not wake up.

 

"Huh?" he said. "Sh-she's alive!? And she's sleeping!?"

 

Sweat ran down Leah's forehead and she was breathing evenly.

 

He saw her sweating and opened up the windows and turned a fan on.

 

Leah remained sleeping for a while, her expression peaceful.

 

George sat next to her and watched her sleep.

 

Leah's expression slowly began to change as she slept longer. Her expression was that of fear, and she started moving around alot in her sleep. Suddenly, she started to scream. She screamed in fear and pain. Something had obviously terrified her. Though she was still asleep, she was thrashing around and screaming. "George! George!" She shouted, desperately, in her sleep.

 

George took her hand and rubbed it, saying "Don't worry, I'm right here!"

 

She felt his hand. George! George, don't leave! Please don't leave..." She shouted frantically, holding his hand with both of her own. However, she seemed to relax, now.

 

"I will never leave you." he said, kissing her forehead.

 

Leah groaned softly and opened her eyes, gently squeezing George's hand. "George...?" She muttered, sleepily.

 

"You're awake." he said, releived.

 

She frowned, still groggy from sleep. "Awake...?" She asked, confused.

 

"You were sleeping." he said.

 

She suddenly sat up, alert. "Sleeping?!" She said, frightened.

 

"Yeah." he said. "Sleeping."

 

Leah took a deep breath to relax herself. "I think... I'm sick..." She said, realizing what might be happening. No, no, no, no, NO!! She thought. This CAN'T be happening now!!

 

"What do you mean? What's wrong?" he asked.

 

Leah looked down at her hands. "I guess you could call it... vampire teenagehood... It's a type of way that vampires grow up. It's how they... mature, in a sense. For example, some humans voices change. Although for us, it's... different." She explained.

 

"Can you explain it more?" he asked.
