Animal Abuse

What are everyone's thoughts on this? Do they agree or Disagree with Animal Abuse? Should they have more people on the job enforcing the laws?

I'm most certainly against animal cruelty. I see what they are doing and I think Texas, is doing some of the best work for Cruelty. I have seen them press a man Four Months in prision for slaughtering an animal, illeagly, and suffering. Cutting of its front arm, ear, hind leg, then head after hours, ect.

I don't think they are enforcing a good law on this. Four Months? I'm sure if it was a human it'd be life sentance, for that cruelty.

animal cruelty is wrong. i dont think theyre doing enough about it. i heard about a man who kicked a dog to death and didnt get more than 6 months in prison.

This is a major problem around where I live... especially arranged dog fights. Basicly what they are doing is raising these mutts and forcing them to battle to the death while these hosts make money off of it. As sick as it is, it still goes on.

I'm against animal abuse as well. The humane society needs to do more than they currently are...

 

I don't know anyone who would actually agree. It's sick, and I hate it when people do what RVR said. Using dogs against eachother for money, pathetic. I sometimes hate our species, we can be so evil.....

Animal abuse cases should be taken a lot more seriously than they are now. I'll just start off by saying that.

Animals share the world with us...and it's our job to make sure that they're treated the same way that they would be without our intervention. Hearing the way that people talk about the Vick fiasco like the animals and the crime don't matter because of something so silly as football...it just makes me sick to the stomach.

I think there needs to be some stricter punishments for Animal Cruelty cases...and that guy deserves to be in the big house for life, not four months...

 

I wouldn't say for life, that would just be extreme. But he does need to go to jail. Don't take me wrong though, I love animals, and I even have one.

But I remember, one of my teachers got thrown in jail for killing a dog. Normally I would be mad but I was there. The dog attacked his son, and it almost killed him. But my teacher saved his son by kicking the dog in the neck. When he did, the dog died, and the owner sued my teacher. I was at the court, but he had to be sent to jail for killing a dog. But the owner had to pay for the kids medical treatments.

That was so messed up, but I knew it wasn't the teachers fault.

People that abuse animals are sick. Some people do it simply because they can get away with it and they know that animals obviously cannot talk or do too much. Some do it for sport or morbid amusement, such as cock fighting and dog fighting. Some people are just cruel and shave cats or toss cats off buildings or tie cans to dogs' tails which causes them to lose their tails, or they torment the animals kicking them and they think it's fun and games. Others starve their animals and such.

We domesticated these animals and as such, we owe it to them to treat them with respect and love. It is also known that many serial killers tormented and killed animals prior to moving onto humans. Animal abuse is a symptom in recognizing psychotic behavior in people.

Killing animals or abusing them is low and I do feel that more needs to be done. Every animal I have ever owned as a pet came from an abusive past. One of my cats I have now was abandoned in a paper bag along with other siblings that were dead. Another was so sick and abused my vet took mercy on me and gave me discounts on medicine and treatment. I had a dog in the past that was found in a garbage dumpster, and another dog later that I bought from a guy for 20 bucks because he was kicking the poor thing and I said if he didn't give it to me I would call the cops on him. It is a really wretched thing to abuse something that can't report it and is never going to see a vet so they cannot also find out.

More harsh laws do need to be implemented. I don't know if anyone else ever catches the shows on Animal Planet, but they have some shows on there about animal cops that go and rescue animals from these scenes and some of those shows are really sad and troubling. Oddly enough, it's one of the shows one of my cats here loves to watch.

I am against animal abuse.According to The SPCA,our anti-animal abuse board in my country,1000 cats got disowned this year.That's a lot and I mean it.

Animal abuse is wrong as don't forget,animals are living things too you know and they deserve to live(Except for Mosquitoes and bees!)

That guy should be sent to jail because he is like taking away another life.

 

A. animal cruelty is totally sick. people find it funny to beat an animal, just because they have power over them. for example: a man was in his truck. he has a tinny little kitten. he hits it again and again. then he stands up, picks up the kitten, throws it down and kills it. that really happened.
B. i dont think anyone on this site is foranimal abuse, and even if they were, do you really think they'd post it? especially after what has been said here?
C. if you torture and kill a human, you get a life sentence. do it to a cat: you get six months. is THAT fair?

 

I am completely against it! I understand animal testing but I'm still against that. I think animals should be treated as equals to Humans- we are no better then they are we?
