schuyler didn't realize how obvious obvious she was til diane said something. The question caught her off guard.
"oh, uh...no not really."
She tried to hide the pain she was feeling from showing on her face.
"so..um..have you picked a room yet? There's an extra bed in the room I picked. If you wanna stay with someone.

 

Diane smiled, then nodded. She picked up her stuff and opened the door."Lead the way." she said while holding on to her bags. Something fell out of her pocket, but she hadn't noticed. "sorry if I offended you by asking about you looking for something." she said apologetically.

 

A rather odd shaped creature stopped and snatched up Kaila's bracelet in it's sharp teeth. Chomping on it once and seeing it wasn't food, it attempted to spit it out and instead had the bracelet slip inbetween it's teeth. It shook his head, red eyes narrowed in frustration and annoyance and shot up into the sky on leathery wings.

Ren fell asleep in the infermary of the school after Elena left and he assumed she went to bed. Kaila...I need to explain...

Kiel observed his empty room and slumped on the bed. This place....angels? It exists...now...Sister Amelia said....my father is at a place that shouldn't exist and yet does for our safety...does that mean here?

Uriel sat in her room at the top of the tower and glared at a basin of water. "You're telling me my students must be subjected to trials and problems that should not concern them!? This is absurd!" She opened her mouth to continue scolding whoever she was talking to and was cut off by a large ripple. "I understand that...but... Yes, it matters very much to me and our Father, but... No Brother, I mean no disrespect...I mearly am concerned for their safety. And that of our teachers. Ren already, has witnessed and reported the strength of the Dark has increased this year."

 

schuyler turned around to look at diane.
"no, no. it's...fine..."
her eyes dropped down to the item on the floor.
"is that yours?"
she pointed to what she was looking at.

tori crawled into her bed in the third floor dormitory. she didn't really have any luggage so "unpacking" only took a moment. it felt weird calling this massive place home. her home wasn't that great, which is why she ran away in the first place. as tori lay there trying to go to sleep, she thought about the boy from dinner. keil was definitely charming, but there was something about him that bothered her. she wasn't sure what it was and was quite frankly afraid to find out what it might be.

kaila fell asleep not long after lying down in her bed. images of what she had seen of ren swam in her unconscious mind. it was all so horrific. even though she was a few centuries old, she had never seen anything like it.

 

The Seraphim, having returned moments before everyone went to bed, stood outside Tori's door. His hands, shrouded by long, draping sleeves, gently touched the door and the sound of a harp running up and down a scale echoed in Tori's room.

Uriel fumed and paced the length of her rooms. "I will not tolerate this...this is insanity! Dammit, Gabriel, would you say something!?" A half asleep Gabriel lounged on a loveseat in her plain cream colored rooms. "What would you have me say, sister? I know not why the Seraphim want to test the students so early. Tomorrow classes begin and at the end of the day...the time will come. I trust in the Seraph of the Summer Court. Who you place your alliegance with is not my concern." Uriel slumped into a wooden rocking chair, "My trust is also with the Summer Court. But Ren...has stated very clearly his trust is with the Dark Court....and the others...I've no idea." "Sleep and wait dear sister."

 

Diane turned, and picked up the object. "yes, it was. thank you."

James fell asleep on the bed in his dorm. He had a dream that Diane would die soon. James, being James, disregarded it and went back to sleep. "She'll be fine." he said.

 

tori slept soundly. the bed was far more comfy then the one she had at home and the past months had been spent sleeping everywhere but a bed. as she slept, she faintly heard the sound of harps in her subconscious.

schuyler nodded and then turned back towards the direction she was headed, leading diane to the room she had already claimed. schuyler was an eager decorator and had already set up a number of trinkets and curtains, making the room feel more like home by bringing pieces of home with her. she was still bothered by the fact that the one piece of home she wanted the most, she could not find. schuyler tried to let it go for the night and look for her brother the next day. once inside the room, she showed diane which bed she could sleep in.
"i have this one over here, you can sleep in that one over by the window."
she pointed to the right side of the room, farther away from the door.

 

The Seraphim walked through the door and smoothed Tori's hair. "Pardon the intrusion, my dear. Sleep well Tori. Tomorrow...I'll show you a world you'll not soon forget. I shall guide you...if you'll let me. Trust in the Courts...I'm here to keep you steady." He stroked a hand along her wrist and a light blue ribbon tied itself on her. Trust in the Courts....trust in me... and with that he faded from her room.

 

tori shuffled around in her bed. she wasn't a still sleeper. the moving in her sleep had grown even stronger since she had been on her own. she was always on edge, which she needed to be since she could be attacked at any moment. tori woke up in a jolt. it was a dream about her eyes. it felt so real. she touched her face expecting there to be scaring and held out her hands expecting not to see them, but that wasn't the case. it was because of that seraphim. he healed her. it had been quite painful, but she was back to normal. it wasn't until then that she had noticed the ribbon on her wrist.
where...where on earth did this come from?
she was most confused, but decided to shrug it off and go back to sleep.

 

In the Morning...

Uriel, not having slept very well, hustled through the hallways, a loud mental bell ringing in each of the student's heads as a sigh of breakfast being served. "Good morning Ren, Elena, Gabriel...Sanya...what are you doing out of bed?" Uriel stared down at the young angel before her. Sanya, a half-ling, stretched her wings. One being metallic and machine generated, the other normal of pure white feathers. Uriel patted the girl's head and smiled gently, "Be careful today, Sanya."

Gabriel grinned, "Good morning Uriel. Sanya will be alright. She said she wanted to teach class today. Seeing as she's still standing...she seems to be determined." He crouched behind Sanya and played with her metal wing until the little girl scowled at him.

Elena was propping Ren up on crutches and smoothing his bed head hair. "Ren too should be fine for class today. Though for the next few weeks I beileve someone else should take his place on night shifts."

The young girl squirmed until she was free of Gabriel's tinkering fingers and Uriel's hand. "I'll be alright, Uriel-sama...I feel better today. Plus, I didn't want to miss seeing the Seraph of the High Court come today."

 

schuyler was ready to go in the morning before she even heard the breakfast bell, but she decided to wait until diane was up and ready to go. she felt it would be rude to leave her new younger roommate and just take off for breakfast without her.

tori was always a last minute person. she hadn't even gotten dressed yet when the breakfast alarm went off. tori took a quick shower and went to throw on clean clothes, realizing she didn't have any clean clothes. all her clothes were lost when she was attacked. it was kind of hard for a blind girl to search for clothes. her dirty clothes would have to do, as embarrassing as it was. when dressed she walked quickly down to the dining hall.

kaila was an early riser so she was as usual the first person in the dining hall. given last nights events, she decided not to stay and wait for everyone else. she knew uriel would probably have some important announcements about the seraphim, but other than that, she knew it would be the same thing as every year. kaila was settled in her office eating a bagel long before class would start.

 

Diane felt something licking her foot. "Stop it... that tickles..." she muttered. When she felt that it didn't stop, she woke up. "What?" she pulled the blankets up and she saw her Husky puppy wagging his tail. She disregarded this for a moment, but then realized what she saw. "Hurricane!? What are you doing here!?" she loved the dog, but she was sure she wasn't allowed to have him with her.

 

schuyler turned to look at her quite confused.
"why? why is there a dog in here?"
she was just as baffled as diane looked.

 

Diane got up and looked in her bag and saw a couple of chewed up clothes. "He must've sneaked into my bag before I left!" she looked at the dog. "How did I not notice him before? Oh man, this isn't good!"

James heard the breakfast bell. I'll get something later he thought, and went back to sleep.

 

schuyler slowly started sneezing. she was allergic to dogs. it made her sneeze, her nose get stuff and her eyes become itchy and red.
"we...we...AA....CHOOOOOO....."
she sniffled.
"sowwy...i...i have...AA...ACHOOO.....dog allergies..."
schuyler wiped at her face. she could slowly feel her eyes starting to itch.
"i have to go, before it gets worse. she you at AACHOOOOO...breakfast."
she ran out the door and down the tower as quickly as she could.

tori hurried into the dining hall wearing yesterdays clothes. she was in such a hurry that she had forgotten about the ribbon on her wrist. tori hadn't noticed it until she sat down at the long table.
"oh! where did this come from?"
she sat there staring at it for awhile.

kaila sat in her office organizing papers. the last thing she wanted was to see ren or any of the others. she had been there just as long as the rest of them, but yet they had been keeping some big secret from her. she felt betrayed. what else could they have been keeping secret to protect her. kaila was a big girl and didn't want conspiracies going on amongst the castle. if there was something important going on, she demanded to be included. she sighed as she set the papers in different stacks based on various forms of magic.

 

Uriel picked herself up after she'd eaten a little of her breakfast and sauntered away from the dining hall. Buisness with the Seraphim was difficult. She stopped outside and fixed a cold, professional expression on her face as she watched the four Seraphims step out of a black carriage. "Salutations Seraphim. Welcome to the Acadamy of Angel Training. We're honored to h---" A Seraphim dressed in a long black cloak lifted a hand and she fell silent midsentence. "There is no need to proceed through the formalities. We all know who you are, Archangel Urielal, and of your school." Uriel's composure faultered as they addressed her by her Paired name. "I am no longer Urielal...my pairling died several centuries ago..." The Seraphim nodded as one and bowed as one. "Forgive me then, Archangel Uriel." Nervously Uriel led them through the school and showed them each room and classroom. She stopped at Kaila's classroom and hesitated. "If you all wouldn't mind...Angel Kaila is currently in her classroom." A Seraphim wearing a bright golden cloak bowed his head, "And forgive US when we say we require each room to be inspected. The Dark could have any number of spies hidden anywhere." Swallowing hard, Uriel knocked, she knew Kaila would never forgive her for keeping the Dark a secret.

Kiel grinned as he sat next to Tori, "Hey, I'm glad to see you up. Get a goodnight's sleep?"

 

kaila heard the rapping of the door being knocked on. she was curious as to who would be at her classroom door this early in the morning.
please don't let it be who i think it is.
"come in."
she called out just loud enough for her voice to be heard on the other side of the door. kaila stood up and started writing some things on her chalkboard, like her name and what the days lesson would be about.

tori smiled at kiel.
"it was all right. most comfortable bed i've slept in, in quite a long time. you?"

schuyler entered the dining hall in a sneezing fit. her eyes were red and itchy and she had tears running down her face. she sat down quickly at an open table wiping her eyes and blowing her nose.
"awefum..."

 

"Oh no!" Diane said. She looked around in a panic. "Hurricane, stay in here. I'll be back later." she made the dog a bed out of some old clothes and left to find Schuyler.

When she found Shuyler, the latter was sitting at a table. "Shuyler! Are you ok?" she asked.

 

Sora awoke to the sounds of the breakfeast bell. Guess I might as well get up now. He thought hopping out of bed. Getting dressed and strapping his bandaged up sword to his back, he left his room and made his way to the dinning hall. I just remembered why Ialways missed breakfeast at home. He thought as he eyes started to droop.

 

Uriel inwardly winced and begged their heavenly Father for forgiveness for decieving Kaila and swung the door open wide and stepped in. "Angel Kaila...your classroom and the rest of the school is being inspected by the Seraphim come from Heaven. I...I apologize for the inconvienence." She stepped aside, letting the four cloaked beings into the room. A gentler voice came from the Seraph cloaked in bright gold and reds, "A pleasure, Angel Kaila. For the duration of our stay we will assume no one has paired outside of our knowledge." Uriel felt a wave of grief hit her and clamped down on her emotions. "I'm sorry..."

Kiel shrugged, "Could've been better. There was humming coming from outside my window...I couldn't see who it was, but it bugged me. It was....creepy." He frowned into his food and bit into a buiscut.

The small woman stood from her chair and surveyed the room. Her voice was clear when she spoke, "Salutations Freshmen and returning students. Welcome to the Acadamy of Angelic Training and Divinity, located on the one and only Cruesse Point." Her metallic wing lifted and she lifted her robotic arm, "As you notice, I am a bit different from you all. I teach Mathematics...which won't be as boring as it sounds. I give you my solom vow." She bowed and her blonde hair fell into her food. Gabriel pushed it behind her ears and her cheeks brightened to a rosy red.
