Jegudiel's went down the stairs and went straight to his class room. He put all of tomorrow's thing's on his desk and gratefully took the other papers from Ren with a smile. He yet again pointed his finger at his things. "Etiam loca" The papers, poster's and folders when into there places that there invoker wanted them to go. Jegudiel then turned to Ren, "Okay, all done with unpacking now let's eat!" he chuckled as he walked passed Ren.

Ren followed Jegudiel around silently even as he headed down for dinner. "Understanding our Creator.....You really believe that stuff....well if anything History reveals how His work is done." Ren shrugged and eerily jingled his bone bracelet. His odd habit of playing with the bones irritated only Uriel and he enjoyed her irritation...but it had become an odd habit. Ren glanced down at his clothes, plain midnight blue pants and a shirt that had been cut off halfway to please Ren's taste in odd fashion...his shirt too was midnight blue and all the chain and bone jewelry only added to how odd his eyes looked. Gleaming, golden cat eyes glowered at everyone he passed. His dark navy blue wings tightly tucked against his back. Some luck I have.... Why're all the girls staring at me all the time?

 

OOC: Hey guys, sorry for not being on but my last week of school just ended on friday and since Monday I've been busy with finals and didn't have time to say I was gonna be gone. Plus, My Mac Is slow so It's hard for me to use the forum everytime i'm on. Recap please?

 

ooc: nothing much. Everyone now has their own dorm rooms, the Seraphim healed Tori, a new student and the teachers and everyone are heading down to dinner. I appreciate the explanation Ventus108.

 

OOC: Well if your gonna be gone for as long as I was, you have to explain right?

James headed down to dinner after getting his own room. I did see her, but she was alone and she may not have seen me. I gotta hurry. He had seen his sister but was afraid of talking to her because they hadn't seen each other for about a year.

 

tori stood in awe as everything became bright. she was confused as to how he knew her name, but that thought evaded her mind as the wings surrounded her.
"what are you doing?"
she wasn't sure how to react to what was going on. there was so much to take in at once.

kaila's face lit up with a big grin. she did a little flip of her wrist as she spoke.
"oh you know, giving renny-poo his one moment of reprieve. i'm sure he's getting tortured enough by all of the students anyway."
she thought to herself for a moment about all the little 17 year-olds fawning over their teacher.
"in all honesty, i don't see why he keeps fight this. we've been going at it for what...how many decades now?"
kaila tried counting on her fingers, but lost track after 12.
"i mean really, it doesn't hurt to give a girl a chance."
she sighed.
"oh well. how are you doing gabrielle?"
as she asked him the question she thought more about uriel sitting on the other side of him. something fishy was going on with her that she wasn't telling. kaila didn't understand why uriel would keep it a secret, they've been working together for years.

schuyler watched as all the teachers and other students entered into the dining hall. she kept an eye out for her brother, but still nothing. she didn't understand where he could have gone. it was a big castle sure, but they should have seen each other by now. she didn't know what to think by that point.

 

The Seraphim stepped back and his wings faded away, "Your wing is now restored. A touch of a Seraphim's wing against a wounded wing can heal in a matter of minutes." The Seraphim turned lightly on his heel and started to leave the room, "It's best you head to dinner now. Uriel plans to annouce a plan for your schooling here."

Gabriel frowned lightly, "Always so cruel Kaila. Are you just moody because you haven't cuddled Ren this afternoon or is it something more?" he smiled and laughed, drawing Uriel's burning glare.

 

tori moved her once damaged wing around. she was in awe. everything was back to normal and in working condition. it was hard to understand how she could be fully healed, but decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth. she was greatful of the seraphim and did as he said. she started to head down to dinner.
"thank you."
tori kept walking, but then turned back around when she remembered something he had said earlier.
"oh! what was it by the way? your name that is."

kaila rolled her eyes.
"you always assume the worst of me don't you gabrielle?"
she smiled.
"just so you are aware, i did not think i was being moody. plus i can live a day without ren, i mean i live the entire summer without him anyway. and as i just told you, it's not like it really matters. he's been shrugging of my passes for decades. if nothing came of it back then, then nothing is ever going to come of it in the future. it's just fun to tease him is all, plus i don't want to be alone forever."
kaila sighed. a life full of divinity and grace in the lords presence was wonderful, but when being away from the father in the school year, it would surely be nice to have someone to spend the time with.
"to answer your question, uriel is what's bothering me."
she glanced over at her.
"i feel like she's keeping something from us. hopefully, we'll find out what it is over dinner."
kaila looked at uriel questioningly.

schyuler tried not to think about her brother, but decided to attempt at making new friends. she turned to a boy who sat down near her. schyuler put on a big smile and held out her hand to shake his.
"hi, my name is schyuler."
she introduced herself to kiel.

 

Ren hustled his friend down to the dinning hall and slid into his seat next to Kaila. He started to fiddle with his bone bracelet and glared at a few oggling girls. When will my life consist of only my studies and not female activity...?

Gabriel laughed heartily at Uriel's glare and Kaila's words, "You wound me for sure my dear Kaila. Uriel will keep her secrets until she is thousands of years older than she is now. Or father commands her to spill her secrets...but I do not see that happening in the futures..." Gabriel's normal cryptic words set Uriel iinto a rigid posture in her seat. "Must you yammer on like a bumbling baffoon Gabriel? You sound insane talking so much and yet so little."

The Seraphim watched Tori carefully for a moment, "I'm afraid Seraphim of any court do not have names anymore young Tori... When you become a Seraphim...you lose your name and gain a higher status and understanding of the world and Heaven. Perhaps...one day I shall tell you my name." His shoulders shook with silent laughter as he faded away into the light that shone through the window.

Kiel turned his sharp eyes to the girl who'd spoken to him, "Zadkiel...just call me Kiel...it at least sounds normal." His eyes turned back to the teachers who seemed to be sitting gloating over everyone, "Wretched place this is...."

 

Diane walked up to Kiel. "Hi." She said with a goofy/stupid smile. "I'm Diane! Have you seen my brother? He's about yay tall, has black hair, doesn't talk much and he's prety moody. Also, do you know when we eat? I'm starving cuz I had a long journey."

James saw Diane talking to Kiel. "Ugh," he mttered,"she's such a friggin' noob."

 

kiala had a hurt look in her eyes.
i had no intentions of being offensive gabriel. my apologies. although you are right about uriel, but uriel we only mean to poke fun. relax. secret secrets are no fun, secret secrets hurt someone.
she turned her head watched as ren sat down next to her and put on a wonderous smile.
well hello there ren. busy fending off all the students?

tori watched as the seraphim slowly disappeared. his words resonated in her mind as she wandered through the corridors and finally stumbling upon the dining hall. she really did stumble in. for being an angel she wasn't very graceful. tori tripped on the glossy tile floor in front of the entire school that was present. she hurried up off the floor and shuffled into the closest seat possible.

schyuler, lost in her own upbeat mind, had no idea how kiel could think this place was wretched.
wretched you say? how so? i find the place to be quite extraordinary. even better than my brother had explained.
she looked up at the younger girl that stood in front of kiel and herself.
how do you do? my name is schyuler.
schyuler saw a boy fitting that description a little ways behind diane.
is that him over there?
she pointed off in the distance and then a moment later heard a thud. schyuler turned to look and saw some girl trip as she entered the dining hall.
how embarrassing. i would hate to be her. maybe i'll see if she's okay after dinner is through.

 

Gabriel sighed as Uriel stood. Though she was short she held a strong presence that made the rest of the students fall silent as she stood. "If you would all take your seats, please."

Ren cast a regretful glance at Kaila and mumbled, "Yeah...at least summer was silent and isolated."

Kiel gave a half hearted smile to the girl and silently watched Tori pick herself up, Interesting.... he thought with a slight hint of a real smile on his lips.

Uriel spread her hands out in front of her, "My fellow...angels. We have either brought you here by invitation or calling spell and I am very glad you could all make it. ..." Uriel ran through the usual and what was expected of them in classes. Finally Uriel sad down and sighed, "I also regret to inform you....a Seraphim of the High Court has arrived early for testing....this is unexpected and some things have to be...fast forwarded. The Seraphim will test you...what the test is, I do not know. Do not say...I haven't warned you. Seraphim are secretive and dare I speak ill of our brothers...but they are dangerous."

 

tori sat with enbarrassement written all over her face. She was bright red like a tomato. As uriel spoke she listened with full attentIon. The serphim seemed like a wonderful being. Tori didn't understand how he could be this scary and needed to be feared creature that uriel was describing.

kaila was hurt by ren's words. Knowing ren he probably didn't mean it in an offensive way, but she had to shield her face so no one would see the few tears that were trying to escape. As she kept her head down, kaila listened to uriel. The words she spoke had to be a lie. There was just no way it could be true, but she did see the seraphim herself.

schuyler, being the eager over achiever that she is, listened intently. She wasn't sure how to feel, but was looking forward to the challenge.

 

Kiel waved the newbies off and kept his eyes on Tori as he walked over to her. Kiel slumped down next to her and smiled, "Hey...you're not hurt are ya? I saw you trip. Thought you could use a friend." For once in his life, his smile was real...and not half bad in the charming department.

Despite Ren's initial reaction to keep away from women...he felt he needed to assure Kaila her feelings were not all unrequited. He turned her face toward him again and brushed the tears away from her eyes. "It's been a long day for us all Kaila." A small smile twitched at the corners of his mouth.

Dinner was served; a large assortment of foods suddenly appeared on each table...it reminded Kiel of Hogwarts. "Nice..."

 

tori looked at the boy that sat down next to her. he was quite attractive, and once he mentioned her falling in front of the entire dining room her faced turned the color of a beet.
"i-i'm f-fine."
she wasn't usually a stutterer, but when a cute boy comments on her clumsiness, it tends to come out.
tori watched as the food appeared, as if by magic, and put her head down just a little bit so that her bangs would cover her face.
"my name's tori. yours?"
she kept her eyes on the food as she spoke.

before ren even opened his mouth, a twinge of red had already started to appear on kaila's cheeks. he had never touched her that affectionately before and she didn't know quite what to say, but it didn't take much for her to bounce back to naturally bubbly self.
"oh renny-poo i suppose it has been quite an exhausting day. it being the first day back and all. i forgive you!"
she through her arms around him and gave him a quick hug, then returned to her dignified teacher appearance.
"well the food is now present, no reason to let it get cold."
kaila began to help herself to whatever looked good.

schuyler watched as kiel walked away and sat down by the girl that fell. it didn't bother her any that the boy had left. when the food appeared she looked back up at diane.
"why don't you take a seat right there. it looks like that boy you mentioned is coming this way"
she smiled at the older brother as he made his way towards his sister.

 

Kiel smirked and grabbed an apple, "Cool...real food. Oh, it's Zadkiel...unfortunate name I know....you can call me Kiel." He bit into the apple and let the juices drip from his lips. Doing a half mad grab for a napkin, Kiel's cell vibrated. He groaned internally, One thing at a time, dammit!

Ren rolled his golden eyes and settled a single dark blue wing on the back of Kaila's chair. Filling his plate with salad and salmon. A little cherub fluttered around, filling the teacher's goblets with red wine and the student's with sparkling cider.

 

kaila felt ren's wing behind her and a satisfactory smirk grew across her face. she delicately picked up her glass which was now filled with wine. she always thought it was strange that they needed to eat and drink in this world. it was not ever necessary in the heavens and even though she and the rest of the teachers were immortal, they needed to return to the habits they let go of centuries ago.
she dropped a little bit of barbecue sauce on her cheek and it was just barely out of reach of her tongue. she reached down for a napkin.

tori looked up and watched the boy eating his apple, with little bits of juice dribbling down.
"i think that's a very attractive name. strong and masculine."
she reached across the table for some carrots and began munching on them.

 

Kiel smirked and wiped his face, "You think so? I was told by a nun it's an old name of one of the archangels. But I never believed that...why would I be named after an archangel and then abandoned?" he shrugged as if it were nothing.

Ren was about to wipe the barbecue sauce from Kaila's cheek when a light hum came from his pocket. Clenching his outstretched hand into a fist, Ren closed his eyes as if in pain. "Again they come...." he mumbled to himself. Sliding his food away from him, Ren stood and bowed to Uriel, "Forgive me Lady Uriel...the calling beckons me." He dangled a golden pocket watch in front of their faces. "I shall return as soon as possible." Uriel gave him a worried look, "Be careful..."

 

tori looked at kiel questioningly.
"an archangel? i thought the only archangels were micheal and gabriel? they willingly gave up their place in heaven to save those angels that had followed the path of lucifer."
tori never really understood that story. why would anyone want to give up an eternity of bliss to try and save those who intentionally chose the wrong path. when tori realized she was going on about something that she didn't fully understand, she abruptly stopped talking and glanced back down at the food, picking at some more carrots.

kaila picked up the napkin and wiped off the barbecue sauce. when she was done she studied ren's face questioningly and gave him an are you sure you'll be all right look. kaila focused her eyes on the golden pocket watch. she had never seen it before and it was quite a beautiful piece. pocket watches weren't something people used anymore, but it didn't surprise her that ren would have something of that nature. he seemed rather old-fashioned. even though there seemed to be pain in his eyes, she nodded agreeingly and told him to be safe.

 

Kiel stared at Tori for a moment. "Well...I'm not sure how that story goes but I was taught there are a lot of archangels...it's the Seraphim that are rare. There's only like...four, last I'd heard. I'm not good with history but...hmm, I was told there were more than even twelve archangels around." He laughed lightly, "But why someone would name a child after one of them...is beyond me. I wonder..." he turned the apple around in his hands, "Is being an archangel a job...or a position you're born into? Are any of us a child of an archangel and just don't know it?"

Ren cast Kaila a small smile and disappeared down the corridor and into the night.

Elena, a teacher relatively new who used to eat alone during school hours leaned over to Kaila, "You haven't been told have you? About that watch....about our other duty as teachers here." She had soft brown eyes and rather plain light brown hair. Her voice though was soft and sweet. The only thing that marred her subtle beauty was a long scar on her cheek.
