Angelic Divinity

Enan followed her, turning his back on Ren, leaving the teacher to stand staring after them. "Of course. I think Kyrios is with Sanya in her classroom at the moment. That Angeal fellow brough Sanya a Forget-Me-Not flower...so they're going to start making the potion for the boy, Kingsley to drink."

Genesis lowered his eyes to the ground, "But...everytime I open my mouth...something awful comes out. Wh-what could I possibly have to say that would raise your opinion of me!?" he nearly sobbed.

Kiel chuckled with Tori and cast a pitying look at Genesis. "You could start by telling her what you think of her." He watched Genesis' blue eyes snap open, "What...I think?"

 

kaila nodded as she listened. Kryios was with sanya. Two birds wirh one stone. She could apologize to sanya for they way she treated her. It wasn't fair to sanya, she was only trying to help.
"what's happened to kinglsey? That's who I chose for you. He's the next best thing to having me. Better than half the fourth years."
She was aware of his absense, but didn't think much of it.

she noticed the strange look on schuyler's face and tapped kiel lightly on the shoulder.
"i think it's time we stop meddling. If they don't figure it out it's their problem. Not ours."
She grabbed schuyler's arm, who appeared to still be in shock for some reason and dragged her over to penny. The she pointed at tristan and pointed at jean. Waiting, tori watched him walk over to the summer girl. Tori walked back over to kiel and inspected his injuries.
"we should get you fixed up."

giselle lifted her chin up, but still kept her arms tightly around genesis's body.
"what are they talking about?"
She was clueless as to what he could feel for her. Nobody ever felt anything towards her. She didn't even have friends let alone something more than that.

 

Enan tightened the drawstring on his Seraphic robes, "Apparently the boy arrived earlier and has lost his memory of four days past. He was covered in wounds when they found him. He believes it's still the beginning of the school year. Mr. Kingsley has become unreliable." he spoke matter-of-factly about him.

Kiel nodded slowly and tugged off his muddy shirt. "No use tramping around wearing something destroyed and dirty." The edge clung to a thin red line drawn across his chest and he winced slightly. "Seems like he cut more than my shirt."

Penny wrapped his arms around Schuyler, trying to direct her attention back to him.

Genesis dropped his head to his chest, "What...I think of...her... What do I think...of Giselle? I think...I..." he slowly wormed his way around in her arms and blankly stared down at her, "I think...you're the only girl to put up with me in my life...and I would do anything to make you smile." He spoke softly, "You remind me of my mother...all warmth and kindness and yet you have that way about you when you're angry that makes every bone in my body vibrate in anticipation of your heated words."

 

kaila covered her mouth in shock.
"what? That's awful. What could have happened to him?"
She wanted to care about the student, but there were more pressing matters at the moment.
"where's the warehouse?"

tori inspected the cut across kiel's chest and frowned.
"i think...i might be able to fix it. If you let me try."
She thought about yves healing her and tristan and when she healed herself earlier.

schuyler's eyes roamed over penny, out of focus.
"h-hey..."

giselle listened to him and her eyes slowly grew wide. Nobody had ever spoke to her like that before.
"you don't really mean that, do you? nobody...nobody ever means it..."
She shook her head furiously and closed her eyes. There was no way he could be telling the truth. It would mean someone would actually care.

 

Enan pointed vaugely to the west. "On the western edge of town. It's not hard to spot. Kind of a dank place, but it's inconspicuous."

Kiel nodded, "Alright. I'm always willing to let you try."

Penny grinned, "Hey, welcome back to reality. Where'd you go?"

Genesis stared at his boots, "What would I gain from lying to you? If I started lying to you...I might as well just slap Micheal in the face and see if he tears out my other wing."

 

kaila followed enan's hand with her eyes and nodded.
"all right. Tonight. After dinner i'll get a human and bring them there."
She stopped in front of sanya's door, not ready to open it. What eaited on the other side was going to be torture.

tori put her hands over kiel's chest and let the feeling she had earlier wash over her and out of her hands.
"it...it might hurt a little. It actually hurt a lot when yves did it to me, but I was hurt a lot worse."

schuyler shook her head and focused on penny.
"i...i just thought of something was all. Something I should probably apologize to giselle about."
She glanced back over at her and genesis, then back to penny.
"maybe later."

giselle's eyes darted back and forth, searching his face. He seemed to be telling the truth, but she didn't understand how it could be that way.
"you...you really mean it?"

 

Kyrios and Sanya hovered over the Grey Book, inspecting the potion Sanya had to concoct for Kingsley.

Kiel nodded and closed his eyes. The most he felt was the warmth of her hands and a twinge in his chest as the small wound closed.

Penny thoughtfully glanced over to Giselle and Genesis.

Genesis mumbled under his breath, "Do all girls take this much convincing." He pulled off his left glove and laid his hand flat with his palm up. In the center of his palm was a large branded X. "I swear on my bond to Lord Kyrios. I have...certain feelings...for you..."

 

kaila took a deep breath before pushing the door open to sanya's classroom.

tori examined kiel's chest as a long scar slowly started to form in place of the cut.
"all better."
She set her hands on her hips, smiling at her accomplishment.

schuyler gave penny a smile and batted her eyelashes.
"so...about earlier, whadda ya' say? Starting over, clean slate?"

giselle's eyes were still wide as she stared at the X on genesis's palm. She traced over it with her finger and a small smile slowly started to spread.
"okay. I guess o'll have to try and believe you."
She took her eyes off his hand and glanced back up at him.
"this is new for me."

 

Sanya glanced at the door and smiled at Kaila, but Kyrios kept his eyes fixed on a page he was reading before shutting the book. There was a strip of duck tape on the cover of the book with a silence spell written on it. "Oh, hello Kaila."

Kiel rubbed his chest, tracing his fingers over the scar. "Thanks. Now I should probably go get a new shirt.." his cheeks tinged red as he held his ruined shirt in his hand, standing half-naked before everyone.

Penny grinned a boyish grin and tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear, "Sounds good to me."

Genesis felt his palm tingle as she touched it. Angels of other courts feared the X of the Dark Court, but Giselle didn't know what it meant and she wasn't afraid. Silent relief made his legs weak. "I...h-haven't had a real girlfriend in all of my life. The only girls I've been around are the ones here at school and...the girls Dark Court angels bring to...Kyrios' hotel that the angels stay in while they're on Earth."

 

kaila smiled over at sanya.
"hello. Sanya, I hope you'll forgive me for earlier. I was under a lot of stress."
She walked over to them slowly, acid filling her mouth. Kaila could only imagine how her conversation with kryios will go.
"lord kryios. Would you please grace me with the honor of conversing with you?"
Her voice was sweet, but her eyes showed the disgust she felt towards him.

"y-yeah...probably. Don't wanna get in trouble."
Tori picked up her sword, but couldn't help taking a second glance at kiel. Even with the scar on his chest, he was quite attractive. Tori liked the scar. It added character.

schuyler stepped away from penny smiling.
"good. Now how 'bout you actually try fighting a little before class is over?"
She held the daggers in both hands like she was about to pounce.

giselle's face turned red and she stood up. She held her hand out to him.
"so...does that mean you're asking me to be your girlfriend? Because i've never really been bood at stuff like this."

 

Kyrios glanced up at her and smiled, he waved Sanya to leave and she did as he asked. "Why of course. I wouldn't dream of denying my little angel anything. After all...you've given me a great and wonderous gift. I can hardly imagine what I could do for you." he mocked her.

Kiel caught her glance and gave her a two fingered salute as he jogged back into the school, heading for his room to change.

Penny sucked in a breath and gabbed her hand, pulling a martial arts move quickly on her and tucking Schuyler's back against his chest with his arm around her neck. "Good?"

Genesis blushed as red as his jacket. "W-well...I...I...I don't actually...know what I'm asking. I'm no good with...good girls."

 

kaila took a deep breath, trying her hardest to keep from ripping out kryios's throat.
"i believe...we both know why i'm here. I will give you whatever you want, if you give ren his memory of me back. He thinks he loves me, but he's not sure. And that would be your doing, wouldn't it? Keeping that detail from him."
She stepped closer to him, baring a forced smile.

"not quite."
Schuyler smirked and had one blade tucked behind her back, poking penny's stomach, and the other she swung around. It stopped next to his temple.
"you may have me in a headlock, but I could still stab you before you could choke me out or snap my neck."
She lightly trailed the blade by his temple down his cheek, stopping at the jaw.

giselle shoved her hands in her pockets. Her face was still red and her bangs fell in her eyes. A good girl. That pretty much summed her up. She dropped her gaze to her shoes.
"right."

 

Kyrios leaned back in the chair he was sitting in and folded his hands, "No. I wouldn't trade anything for Ren's memory of you. The little flickers of emotion that remain in his heart will never trigger a memory that has been removed entirely. I have not simply broken the chains of his memories, I've removed a few. His knowledge of Kadaj...his memory of his love for you...and the eternities of misery he experienced in the Dark Court's hotel."

Penny huffed a laugh next to her head, ruffling her hair, "Looks like I lose." He released her and made sure she wasn't going to fall over.

Genesis flicked his gaze over to everyone else and landed on Kiel as he returned wearing a light blue t-shirt. "Everyone else is happy with their choice... I...have an idea." He leaned close to her and whispered in her ear, "I beg of you to never follow me or anyone else who bears an X on them to a hotel. The music may be enticing, but if you go inside...you won't come out like yourself...if you even manage to leave. I think you should stick around Schuyler and Tori. Around them, none of the other Dark Court angels will be tempted to take you away to that hotel."

 

kaila was ready to scream and shout at kryios. She had to use all of her restraint to keep from doing so. She sat down on the edge of the desk, crossing her ankles. Kaila rested her hands neatly on her knee and smiled at kryios.
"are you sure? There isn't anything else you want? You don't even have to give him the other two memories back. I'd rather not watch him suffer. You can even take it away again. I only have a month left anyway. Once i'm gone you can steal all those memories back again. He'll be yours until he dies. You'll be able to do with him what you please."
She hated reffering to ren in this manner; but if it would convince kryios, she would do anything.

schuyler spun around to face penny. She was smiling, but serious.
"it would appear so. Maybe tomorrow we will have to take seperate partners. Hopefully you will take class more seriously then."
She dug her finger in his chest and then tapped him on the nose with it.

giselle glanced over at schuyler and then at tori. Her eyes slowly moved back to genesis's face, showing confusion.
"would you be tempted? Because you included yourself in that statement."
She wondered what hotel he could be reffering to. There was only one in town and something told her it wasn't the same one.
"what happens? At the hotel?"

 

Kyrios considered her option before settling his golden eyes on her. "Your offer is tempting...but I have something that would seal our deal. I'll return his memory of you, in exchange....you must come to the Dark Court's hotel. Come with me to the hotel and enjoy yourself. Raphael might've mentioned it before."

Penny shrugged, "Maybe I will. It's hard to take a fighting class seriously when I don't understand what we're fighting against." As soon as he spoke, Uriel's brown eyes narrowed on him and her breathing hitched up a notch, coming faster as she shut her eyes.

Genesis flinched, "Yes...I will be tempted. I go there every night...and with my...unreasonable feelings about you...I'd want to take you with me." He looked pained as he spoke. "The Dark Court's hotel...is where the angels and demons of the Dark Court gather and we indulge ourselves. We party....dancing, drinking, eating, conversation....the works....but after midnight....they bring out the human girls and guys... The reaction is always the same...fear, desire, lust, envy...we get mearly a taste of those emotions and after they've consumed a euphoric drug, those emotions are hightened and we consume them. Those emotions...the negativity sustains the Dark Court. We feed off of those emotions as well as food and drink. It's a living nightmare to bear this curse. The humans that go....they die in the morning."

 

kaila pursed her lips and furrowed her brow. She knew it would lead to something like this, but it was still awful.
"i've heard of it a time or two. From what i've been told...it's not a very pleasant place. Unless you're a dark court angel. I'll go, but i'm assuming you're not inviting me just to enjoy myself."
She flipped her still damp hair over her shoulder. The uneasiness of the night to come was already settling in her gut. The desire to vomit was strong and she had to take a deep breath to settle her stomach.

schuyler frowned and took penny's hand. She looked up at him from under her gray bangs.
"ya' know the monsters that attacked you yesterday, and the dark hunter? Well picture all of that times like...a lot...i don't know know the whole picture, the teachers are kinda keepin' it from us, but I know it isn't good. We're all in a lot of trouble."

giselle's eyes were wide and she took a step back from genesis.
"that's...that's awful. Why would you want to bring me there?"
She was confused as to why he would even want to go there, let alone feel tempted enough to take her there. The place sounded retched and horrifying.

 

Kyrios spoke in clipped tones, "The Dark Court is hungry. The Humans we've gathered refuse to take the drug we offer and thus we need a strong emotion-driven angel to come."

Penny opened his mouth when Uriel dropped to the ground and before them a monster the size of Gabriel stood before them.


Genesis shook his head sadly, "I have no idea. It just...happens...I don't want to bring you there. I want you to stay safe. Stay healthy...stay away from that place."

 

kaila stood, forcing a smile, and walked around kryios.
"fine. I have to do something for enan after dinner and then i'll...go. With. You."
She bit down on her lips hard and her mouth twitched.

schuyler was wide eyed as she stared at the monster. Tori was already to uriel's side and she was jealous that she wzsn't out of the monsters line of sight.
"is there something for you to picture fighting now?"
She swallowed hard and pulled the knives back out shakily.

giselle swallowed and nodded.
"okay."
She heard a strange sound and turned around to see the giant black beast. Her face was riddled with horror and she stumbled backwards into genesis.

 

Kyrios smiled and nodded, turning back to the Book of the Grey and flipping through it's pages casually.

Penny dropped his staff and trembled, "Holy..."
Genesis moved in front of Giselle and drew his sword out of the ground.

Gabriel walked through the illusion, causing it to flicker and disappear. "You asked and Uriel showed you. That creature...is called the Imprisoned. It's a dormant form of Demise."

 

kaila watched kryios go back to the book and she headed for the door.[
"i'll be going now."
She opened the door without waiting for kryios to respond and walked out. Protecting the people she cared about really was destroying her. She would die with nothing left to her. kaila threw up in a trashcan outside of sanya's classroom. She watched the last of her breakfast disappear and felt a hollowness inside herself.

tori watched the illusion disappear and stepped away from uriel.
"that's not funny."

schuyler relaxed and slipped the knives back through her belt loops. She glanced at penny behind her frowning.
"you understand now?"

giselle set a hand on genesis's shoulder and shook her head. She was greatful at how quickly he was to protect her, but it was for no use.
