Kiel nodded, standing up and brushing his fingers along Tori's shoulder before grasping the handles of her wheelchair and turning her around. "So you're the famous missing brother. I don't suppose you have an excuse as to why you were missing..."

The continued walking down the winding stairs. "Archangel Micheal has summoned you. Since you're not permitted into Heaven at this time...he came here. Only outside the school walls and down here...can he fully manifest into a physical form."

Genesis snatched the photo out of her hands and glanced at it. Frowning, Genesis cast a final glance up at Giselle before tucking the photo into a large pocket in his jacket. "We should head back to my room."

Jean pried the little square wrapper out of his fingers, "What's this?" She examined it, reading the small lettering before blushing and shoving it back into his hands, "Oh...you don't need that, Tristan." A soft smile sat on her lips and her large blue eyes had grown wide.

 

kingsley looked over his sister's head at kiel.
"no. I don't know. The last thing I remember is heading to school with sparky here and then we split up to race. After that I was stumbling out of the forest. I didn't even know it wasn't the first day anymore."
He looked down at his sister confused.
"why is giselle here? She's human. And hanging out with a dark court angel? That's dangerous. They do some awful things to humans."

schuyler shifted uncomfortably under her brother's arm. She didn't want to talk, bur keeping things from him would only make him upset since he missed so much.
"she uh, she's not the only human here. There are three more. They were all being attacked by kadaj and his men. They were like, chosen to save the world or something. We're in charge of protecting them. Genesis was given the duty of protecting giselle and a boy named allen."
She thought about penny. He was probably wondering why she hadn't come to visit yet. Class was starting in about fifteen minutes and it lessened their time together. She figured she'd ask him if he wanted to attend class with her. She wouldb't be a very good protector if he was sitting by himself all the time.

kaila gulped nervously. There was no way she could stay composed anymore. If it weren't for the wincing staircase and the abysmal drop, she would have broke down right there on the stairs. She would surely be disintegrated. There would be a blast of light and before there's enough time to react, she would be a pile of dust on the ground. If archangel michael himself, was willing to go through all of the trouble to see her, then it was definitely a bad sign. Clearly their Father felt it was time for her to no longer walk the earth. Her thoughts grew morbid.

giselle nodded silently as she picked up the ribbon and wrapoing paper. It was the first present she received by someone other than her parent's in years. As much as she hated it, nervousness struck her, afraid genesis mighy lose it. She followed alongside him in silence as they walked back to his room.

tristan looked at jean in shock.
"really?"
He tossed the condom back onto the floor by his pants and flipped jean over flat on her back. He kissed his way down her body, stopping just above the waistline and shimmied her shorts off her hips and down her tan legs. He took in the sight of jean lying there in her underwear and a hungry smile spread across his face. She was the most incredible person he was about to be with and none of the right words to describe her seemed to come to mind. He couldn't get over how beautiful she was and the fact that she wanted to be with him. Tristan's focus was being lost as he concentrated on jean's body. He decided, before it was too late, to finally go for it. He pulled off his boxers and her underwear as he grabbed the covers tightly over their bodies. Tristan wrapped himself tightly in and around jean, smothering her neck and chest in warm breathy kisses.

 

Kiel grumbled something about racism, but the comment was lost in the squeaking of the wheelchair.

The angels stopped at a large white door and motioned for her to open it herself. "We cannot go any further with you."

Genesis stopped once they'd rounded the corner and pulled Giselle into his arms, hugging her. "Forgive me for this. But just once, I'd like someone not to cry in my presence."

 

tori kept trying to connect with kingsley's thoughts, but the fog was just giving her a headache. She had to grab her head and lean back in the chair so she wouldn't fall out. There was something about him that really didn't sit well with her and the fact that his mind was blocked didn't help. She looked over her shoulder at the brother and sister frowning.
"why do you call schuyler sparky?"
Toti noticed him say it and found it to be an odd nickname.

kingsley stared down at the girl in the wheelchair astonished. His eyes were wide with disbelief.
"what?! You mean she hasn't shown you yet? Sky how could you not show them? You're so good at it."
His attention was fully on his little sister who looked reluctant to answer.

schuyler glanced off in the other direction.
"i dunno. It never came up. It's not like i'm that great at it."

"you're right, you're not that great. You're incredible!"
He could see how confused tori looked and decided to clarify.
"sky does the best lightning magic i've ever seen. I've bragged about it so much to professor camponella. I'm surprised she hasn't asked to see it yet. Sparky's a natural at it. She has been since we were little. Got zapped from a socket and has been fascinated ever since. You should have seen her hair. It was always frizzed out from the static."

"kingsley shut up! They don't want to hear about that. And I don't want you telling them. How can you just be so casual? Just...just..ugh!"
She let go of him and stormed into the infirmary, walking up to penny.
"come with me."
Schuyler grabbed his wrist angrily and started pulling him toward the door.

kaila nodded at the male angels and knocked lightly on the door. She opened the door hesitantly as she knocked.
"hello?"
She walked inside the room, seeing the archangel waiting.
"good morning michael."

giselle stood there silently in genesis's arms. They were strong and warm, and she could hear his heart beat. She sniffled and lifted her head up to see his face.
"i wasn't gunna cry. It's just really overwhelming. the entire time I was growing up I never thought i'd see them again, and now i'm here. And they're here too. And the picture..."
She buried her face in his chest.

 

Kiel cast a wary look at Kingsley, positive the boy would topple over without his sister to hold him up. "From what we've witnessed I'm not so sure she's fond of the name...or the memory. Perhaps you should spend less time in the past and more time trying to recall the past four days..."

A grin broke out on Penny's face when he saw Schuyler enter the infermary, he didn't even care or notice she was angry. Warmth radiated up his arm from where she held his wrist and he followed willingly.

Micheal looked up at Kaila, his eyes a washed out golden color. They barely looked like they had any color left in them at all. His face was porcelin white and golden locks of wavy hair fell down to his jawline. He certainly cast the typical look of an angel. "Come...sit, sister." He motioned vaugely to the chair in front of him. it was made out of stone...much like the one he sat in now. Not a single flicker of emotion passed his face. No interest, anger, surprise, joy, or sorrow of what Kaila had done showed on his perfect features. "You know exactly why you're here," he said, ignoring pleasantries, "Why don't you try to explain your reasoning to me."

Genesis kept silent, listening to her talk and wrapped his single black wing around her, "For friends of yours they seem to be causing you a great deal of pain. Perhaps the transition from their pretended human lives into their now angelic lives has strained the relationship between the three of you. Give it time."

 

kinglsey raised an eyebrow as she slipped his hand in his pockets.
"i do believe, that would still be thinking in the past. Although you're right. In less than a week my babu sister has changed dramatically and has already seemed to grow up quite a bit."
He managed to stroll into the infirmary as his sister came storming past, back out of the room.
"who was that?"
He gestured in the direction of schuyler and penny.

schuyler turned to look at penny as they left the library.
"what are you smiling about?"
in the state she was in, schuyler found it rather annoying. She didn't understand how he could be so smiley.

kaila took a deep breath as she sat in the chair across from the archangel.
"everything I have done has been to protect the school and all those within it. I don't regret my actions, i'm only searching for a way to fix it. There is one month before kadaj resurrects demise and even though it provides little time for them to train, I have faith in the humans. I have prevented the continuation of attacks on the school and have offered myself as sacrifice rather than allowing him to take a student. He came to me. I didn't choose this fate. He continues to come to me unanounced."
Her eyes drifted around the room. There was only enough light to show their faces.

giselle continued to allow genesis to hold her in silence. She didn't want to reply. It would only mean defeat.

 

Kiel followed Penny and Schuyler with his eyes before turning to wedge himself in the door and prop it open for Tori, "That would be Penny. His full name is much too long to remember but your sister seems to have taken a liking to him and he to her."

Penny didn't even attempt to wipe the smile from his lips, "How many other guys get to be sought out and taken away by a beautiful angel? I think I have reason enough to smile." He jerked her to a halt, circling his hands around her waist. "For an overall calm and gorgeous woman, you certainly are hot when you're angry."

Micheal barely shifted in his seat as he listened, "Yes...I know. I've been watching Kadaj for quite some time now. But I never, in all my years, would have thought someone would actually give him the spell required to ressurect Demise. Even with only half the spell, Demise as the Imprisoned One, will still wreak havoc on the world. Destroying what he touches with that filthy body of his." Holding her gaze, Micheal attempted a smile...it twisted into a grimace, "Surely you know the punishment for going against Divine Orders, sister." Without missing a beat, he stood, "On the eve of the full moon you will be stripped of your wings and angelic powers and cast to live a mundane life on Earth."

 

schuyler managed to crack a smile, but it disappeared quickly. The day had quickly become a bad one and now there wasn't even time to eat before class.
"i'm not in the mood for cute. And you're making it very difficult to be mad."
She glared at penny for a minute, but it slowly started to fade. He wasn't the one she was angry towards and she had no reason to take it out on his.
"come on. I have to get my books and stuff quick before class starts."
She turned away from him in the direction of her room.

tori put her hands on the wheels of the wheelchair and rolled into the infirmary. She turned the chair around to face kiel.
"you should head to class. You don't want to be late. Depending on how doped up I am on painkillers, i'll probably joon you next hour."
her blue eyes looked at him reassuringly and then glanced over to kingsley.
"i'm sure schuyler's brother can help me back onto the cot while you're gone. Right?"

kingsley looked over at tori confused. He was distracted by the thought of his baby sister having a boyfriend, even though she wasn't really a baby anymore. She was in every legal sense, an adult.
"hm? Oh, yeah. I can totally help. We'vw got things handled."
He grabbed the handlebars and wheeled her over to a cot.

kaila's words caught in her throat. She wanted to protest that it would be a short lived human existence, but her voice was silent. She managed to muster up a have a nice day, without looking back at the archangel zs he left. Her body was in a state of paralysis, too frozen to even cry. Kaila didn't move. She just sat in the empty room. Her students would wonder where their teacher, but it didn't matter. She was broken and there was no way she could teach. She would have to inform uriel of her resignation. She wouldn't have to tell her why and this way she would have plenty of time to search for a new teacher. Even if kaila managed to survive kadaj's sacrifice, she wouldn't be able to teavh anymore. There's no use for a magic teacher that can't use magic. Ren would hate her for the secrets she was keeping. Kaila stood shakily and walked to the door.

 

Penny followed along, happy for once, "Alright, we're going to her room...to get her books." he said in a singsong voice.

Kiel frowned for a moment before half turning to leave. "Alright...don't push yourself too hard Tori. I'm sure Lord Yves wouldn't want you to overdo anything."

The angels in waiting, held the doors open for her, their heads bowed.

 

schuyler glanced over at penny glaring.
"stop that."
She opened the door to her room and suddenly realized how messy it was. She had gotten dressed rather quickly and diane's dog seemed to have chewed everything up.
"you'll have to excuse the mess. My roommate has a dog."
She grabbed the small yellow bottle of allergy meds off her nightstand and walked over to her dresser. Schuyler pivked up the backpack and frowned at it. With all the excitement that had happened the last vouple days, she hadn't done any of her homework. Falling behind in the first week was not going to reflect well. She figured tori and kiel were just as far behind and would have to ask them if they wanted to study with her later. She slid the straps on over shoulder and turned back to her door.

tori smiled at kiel as kingsley helped her onto the cot.
"i won't. I promise. Now go. You don't want detention again."
She waved her hands, shooing him out of the infirmary.

kingsley sat down on a cot next to tori's. his eyes were glued on her for a moment, sizing her up. He laid back, waiting for the nurse to come. Except for some cuts and bruises, he was starting to feel beter.
"so, you got picked to be a high court angel huh, that's pretty impressive. Most first years aren't given that kind of blessing. Ammittai must really like you."

tori shifted on the cot uncomfortably.
"yes. Well um...he chose both kiel and I. But he's not here anymore. He passed away yesterday and chose me to be the new seraphim. And kiel's supposed to be my protector. Although I seem to be saving him more often. That's how I hurt my leg. I was protecting him and saving genesis last night."
She waved the nurse over for another round of painkillers and treatment for her leg.

kingsley stared up at the ceiling, lost in his thoughts.
"wow. I really have missed a lot in the last couple days. I'm sure that's not even all of it too."
He glanced ovef at tori and forced a smile.
"well, it's nice to meet you seraphim tori. I just wish I knew what happened to me. I need to find that old book."
"you mean the book of grey? Last time I checked, professor logos had it."
"awesome. Thanks."

kaila bowed her head and thanked the angels for holding the door. She walked shakily over to the stairs, holding her shawl. The staircase was just as dark and intimidating going up as it was going down. Kaila held onto the wall, as to not fall. She probably could have flown to the top quick enough, but she didn't have the ambition. Plus she would have to get used to doing things without her wings and powers. She would be late for class, but she was in no mood for teaching anyway.

 

Penny stopped singing once they reached her room and poked his head in, but his feet never crossed the threshold. "At least it somewhat smells like you. You seem right at home here."

Sanya flipped through the pages of the Book of the Grey slowly. It was still fretting that Kaila had torn out a page.

Kiel walked, unhurriedly to class. Rounding the corner, he paused and stared at Genesis and Giselle. "Um..." Genesis jerked and released the human girl. "Don't mind me. Just passing through. Genesis...I figured Kyrios would have warned you away from humans by now. Especially here. After all...he didn't want her here."

 

schuyler shut the door behimd and walked quickly to class.
"i don't feel at home. the room is a total disaster. I don't do messy."
She twisted the cap off of the pill bottle and tossed one into her mouth.

kaila looked down the staircase, amazed that she made it to the top. She didn't remember most of the trip up and was in a daze from meeting with the archangel.

giselle quickly crossed her arms in fromt of her chest and was staring at.the ground. She had stepped away from genesis and had become even more uncomfortable.
"it...it wasn't like that...i just..."
She didn't want to talk about the picture anymore. It was too painful, but if she didn't, kiel would get the wrong idea. He was just trying to make her feel better.

 

Penny frowned, "Did I miss something? Suddenly I'm following you around like a lost puppy..."

Genesis set a hand on Giselle's shoulder, "He doesn't know yet that I've been assigned her protector. He will...I'll tell him. Zadkiel...this has nothing to do with personal feelings. After all...I'm not fit for relationships." Kiel closed his eyes for a second and smiled, "You think so? Well, c'mon, we're going to be late for class. Giselle you can come too."

 

schuyler let out a deep sigh and grabbed penny's arm to stop him from walking.
"no. I'm sorry. This is just not looking to be a good day, which is sad since it's still super early. I did appreciate those things you said. If you meant them that is."
She gave him a kiss on the cheek and started walking again. There was no way they'd make it on time.

giselle shifted uncomfortably under genesis's hand and started walking in silence. Everything was still fresh in her mind and didn't look like it would be leaving any time soon. All three of them were grown up and had spent most of their lives without her. They were different people now. Schuyler and kingsley had both grown into attractive people, compared to them she was homely. At least that's how she felt.
"what class is it?"
Asking was more of politeness than curiosity.

"so what do you know about him? Do you think I can go shake him down a bit? Scade him into being the perfect gentleman?"
Kingsley's smile was both playful and protective as the nurse ran checks over his body. He seemed to be physically okay. It was just his memory that had everyone concerned.
there has to be a lot more serious stuff that happened while I was gone if they're so concerned about what happened to me.

tori let out a soft laugh. Kingsley didn't seem bad. He seemed like any other guy, but there was still the matter of his thoughts being blocked which made her feel uncomfortable.
"i don't think that's necessary. I haven't spent much time with him, but he seems all right. He was freaking out when he got here and schuyler seemed to be the only one that could calm him down. She's got that air about her, ya' know? A born leader, easy to get along with, stuff like that. Although, I never had an older brother, so I don't really know what it's like to have someone care for me enough to intimidate the guys I like either."
"i could rough up that boyfriend of yours a bit if you want."

she laughed again.
"no. That's not necessary. But might I make a suggestion? Give schuyler some space. She seems really upset over yoi. If you push penny around too much she might snap."
Tori watched as that bit of knowledge appeared to sink in. then she felt the need to clarify something.
"he's not my boyfriend, not technically. I know how he feels about me and thanks to ammittai I know that we'll be together for a long time, but he never asked me to be his girlfriend. Kiel kind of skipped over that. I'm waiting to see if that thought will ever cross his mind."

kaila entered the hallway and had to force herself to head to her classroom. There were a couple of stops she wanted to make, but now wasn't the time.

 

Penny smirked, "Of course I meant them. Hmm, I wish I could think of a way to make the day better for you..." He pondered silently as they walked.

Kiel and Genesis walked beside Giselle to their class. "Magics...ugh... Professor Camponella isn't going to be happy that we're late." He mumbled something about not wanting to be a mongoose as they stiffly entered the classroom and took their seats.

Sanya closed the book noisily. She hadn't realized her feet had already taken her to the infirmery. She wanted to talk to Elena but the woman seemed to be missing. "Oh...Mr. Kingsley, you're back! My it's good to see you in good health." Ignoring Tori practically she checked with the Nurse and frowned down at the book. It seemed to stare up at her too. The plain gray cover mocked her silently. Flipping it open she let it voice it's opinion. "Perhaps the young lady is just out for a long walk. Though I think you and I know the probability that she's left are rather high. Why don't you admit it, Miss Logos...she's not coming back for a while. Probably forever." Sanya glowered at it, "Forever is a long....long time. I didn't think that word was in your glossary." The book of the Grey harrumphed and she snapped it closed.

Jean rolled away from Tristan. It had been an hour that they'd spent in his bed. Pillowing her head on his shoulder, Jean murmured, "I may be human...but the angels said I was sterile. I thought the thought of that would depress me forever....but...i guess there are always good things that come from the bad." she smiled up at him contentedly.

 

giselle sat down between the two boys and looked around.
"it doesn't look like the teacher's here."

schuyler shrugged as they walked into the classroom after the others.
"i'm sure it'll just work out. Hey guys."
She waved to everyone, but looked away as she past them. Schuyler felt uncomfortable around the three of them after her meltdowns earlier. She took a seat beside kiel and motioned for penny to sit by her.
"where's the professor? I thought for sure i'd be in trouble. Kiel you had detention with her this motning, do you know where she is?"
She watched as kaila came walking through the door lifelessly. Apparently she had been running just as late as everyone else.

kaila's eyes were empty and her face expressionless as she walked over to the chalkboard.
"good morning everyone. I'm glad to see you're all on time. The schedule for the tutoring hours is now posted on the bulletinboard by the door, along with a list of fourth years that I have chosen as tutors. If you need help, contact me immediately. I'm sure a few of you have already started to fall behind."
Her eyes passed over genesis, kiel, and schuyler for a moment.
"it appears that almost everyone is here today. Is miss harnest still in the infirmary?"
The question had been directed at kiel, but she already knew the answer since she had gone down there. Kaila began her instructions immediately after the question was asked.
"we have a lot of catching up to do, so turn your books to page 37. Hopefully we won't have a repeat of yesterday."

kingsley sat up, leaning his back against the wall. There was a large grin plastered on his face as the small teacher greeted him. She was always one of his favorites.
"it's good to see you too professor. I actually needed to borrow the book, so it's great that you have him with you. Professor leahpar said there was a forget-me-not spell in it that I should look at. The last couple days are just a big blur."
He ran his fingers through his hair and noticed tori looked upset for being ignored.

tristan wrapped his sticky arms around jean. They smelled like sweat and sex, but he didn't mind. The only thing that bothered him was how hot he was lying there.
"i'm sorry to hear that jean. It would be pretty awful to find out when you're still young."
He kissed her hair and rested his head on top of hers.

 

Kiel stared blankly at the board while everyone asked him questions. He knew Kaila would come eventually. She was a teacher after all and Uriel probably wouldn't tolerate having teachers not show up. Giving the Professor a slight nod to her question, he figured she already knew and listened to her instructions.

Sanya rubbed her hand along the spine of the book and frowned, "Borrow? Ren said that? Oh..." The Book of the Grey opened and flipped through it's pages, stopping at the spell Kingsley had requested. "Yes I have the spell. But the Forget Not flowers aren't in bloom yet. It'll be a couple more days. They're quite beautiful when they bloom and easy to find. They glow in the dark and shine in the moonlight."

Jean sighed and shivered, "It wasn't so bad... Geesh did it get cold in here?" A cold burst of wind rolled through the room. "Not yet...but you should be praying it doesn't get hotter." Enan glowered at Jean and Tristan, "Sex with a Summer Girl. How deplorable."

 

kaila wrote some notes about defensive magic on the board and then turned to face the class.
"you're all going to have strengths and weaknesses when it comes to magic. Whether it's defensive, offensive elemental, non-elemengal is completely up to you. Every person will be different. Origanlly, you'd be alternating each year between defensive and offensive, but given the circumstances things have changed a bit. We'll be doing bits of both this year, starting with defensive. how many of you have actually used magic before?"
She watched to see how many hands went up and noticed the reluctance on schuyler's face.
"there's nothing to be ashamed of m'dear. You should be proud that you already know how to use magic. Normally it takes awhile for most other students to get the hang of it."

schuyler sunk in her seat and buried her face in the book. She already wanted to leave class and go hide. The only thing she could think of to make it better would be going directly to a.c.t and stabbing something over and over again. She climbed out of the seat slowly when the professor called her up to the front.
"what sort of magic do you know how to use?" "electrical magic." "yes that's right. You're brother informed me thusly. Care to demonstrate?" "not really."
She slipped her hands in her pockets and stared at the ground.
kaila frowned and stepped back a few feet. She glanced over at penny and pointed to him.
"mr. grimm, if you'll come join us please. Schuyler needs to learn that holding back can be just as dangerous as being too aggressive."
schuyler's eyes were wide as she watched her teacher motion for penny to join them. She was going to use him as bait.

kingsley's eyes grew sad. The spell was the only way to make people stop suspecting him of something and now he would have to wait longer for it.
"oh. Okay... Thanks."
He looked up at his teacher, remembering how frantic she had been a minute ago.
"who are you looking for?"

tristan sat up quickly, making sure the blanket still covered his lower half.
"what does it matter who I have sex with? And who gave you the right to just barge in here?"
He was no longer hot anymore and all of the sweat now clung to his body, rather than dripping off.

 

Penny pointed at himself, "Who me? I can help?" Jumping up, like an oblivious idiot, he sauntered to the front of the classroom and Kiel suppressed a groan. Was it the teachers who had a fetish for making people squirm and freak out; or were they all just too dumb to see it?

Sanya blinked a couple of times and moved her mechanical fingers, "Huh...oh...I was looking for Camponella...I wanted to ask her something but I think she's back in class now..."

Enan seemed grow even more pissed off and the temperature dropped, "Excuse me if I don't wait around all day while a human screws another human like they do every single day of their lives just to talk to one. I have more important things to get to, and talking to you seems to make my list of things to do. Not that you need to be done again." Jean nervously wrapped the covers around herself and edged closer to Tristan.

 

"we'll be back to the lesson in a moment."
Kaila placed a cold hand on penny's shoulder. Her face was still void of emotion.
"schuyler here needs to learn that when it comes to magic you can't hold back. If you do, it could pay dearly. If you're as skilled as your brother says, then mr. grimm will be just fine."
She squeezed his shoulder firmly as her hand began to heat up.

"please don't. I can't...not again."
Schuyler could see her teacher's hand beginning to glow and her eyes widened.
"what...are you doing?"
She could feel the surge of electricity running through her veins and tried to suppress it.

tori used the moment as an opportunity to jump into the conversation and gather information.
"professor, do you know if she gave kadaj that spell. Ammittai said something to me and you spoke with professor camponella after dinner. I thought maybe you would know."
She saw the horrified look on kingsley's face and furrowed her brows.

"kadaj? Why would professor camponella do something like that? She's like the nicest teacher ever. No offense professor."
He liked sanya, but kaila was deffinitely his favorite. Her class was the only one he ever excelled in.

tristan wrapped his arm around jean. The hairs on his arms were sticking out and he shivered.
"well what do you want then, other than to turn us into popsicles?"
He instantly didn't like the guy and wished he wasn't naked so that he could grab his new sword.
