Angelic Divinity

Kiel cleared his throat noisily, taking the attention away from Tori for a moment, "Actually...Lord Amittai said Tori will continue on in his place with me as her protector. Some...uh...Seraph Enan said that it's not definate until the Lord agrees with Amittai's request."

Ren's yellow eyes focused on Kaila finally and he leaned into her hand, "Sorry...staring at a pile of bones will do that to you. I'm alright. Some things..are just hard to take in. With Amittai dead...my own Seraph will become a problem. I fear our time together will be even less than it has been before." he smiled and wrapped his arm around her waist.

Penny grinned arrogantly, "Kinda hafta be. With my parents...if you're not strong you ain't gonna make it. At least it made you laugh. That's good enough for one day, right?"

Genesis shoved the tuning fork back into his pocket and glanced down the hall watching the shadows on the floor surge toward the noise. "A Dark Hunter. Nothing to be concerned about right now. The Dark Court will handle it. C'mon..."

 

Schuyler stood there wide-eyed and couldn't take her focus off of tori.
"are you serious? That's so cool! Well I mean the circumstances aren't great, but...but you're excited right? I would be excited. You get to be in charge of the whole high court and then some!"
She gave tori an enthusiastic congratulatory hug.

Tori was takrn aback by schuyler's reaction. She wasn't in the most upbeat mood, but she let go of kiel's hand to wrap her arms around schuyler.
"thanks I guess...i'm not really thrilled at the moment, but it'll get better I guess."
she watched as schuyler pulled away and then quickly reached for kiel's hand again. It was the only thing that felt solid at that moment, that if she let go for too long she would no longer be grounder. Everything would dissolve and she'd fall apart.

Kaila stepped into his reach so they were only inches apart. She played with ren's hair using,the hand that had grazed his cheek.
"we'll make it work. The bigger problem is the seraph taking ammitai's place. It's that first year tori. Everyone's waiting to see if father will accept it, but I have a feeling it's going to happen either way."
She gave him a quick kiss, letting her lips linger above his for a brief moment.
"kryios doesn't have to keep us apart. Does he?"

Tristan wiped away a laughter tear as he laid back in the cot.
"yeah I guess so. Girls are girls, whether they're winged or not."
He looked at his watch and stared up at the ceiling.
"i wonder what we should do? It's a large castle."
He glanced over at sanya.
"i wonder if we'd get in trouble for exploring."

Giselle followed adter but couldn't help but be concerned.
"what's a dark hunter? it sounds bad."

 

Kiel squeezed her hand tight and ruffled Schuyler's hair, "For now...we want to find Gabriel. I think that's the best way to go. Gabriel is apart of the High Court and so far...I haven't seen him. Uriel was down mourning Amittai before...she doesn't seem up to answering questions. Hey...is that book still in Professor Logos' classroom?"

Ren relaxed for a moment, "Lord Kyrios...cannot keep us apart if you belong to neither Court. Suceptible to whims of demons...I can hardly believe that you would follow such orders they give without a fight." He pulled away from her a slight moment, keeping his arm wrapped around her waist, Ren ruffled through the bones on his desk and snapped his fingers. "Scraps...will you bring me the box with the blue lid?" The little bone dog scrambled out from under his desk.

Sanya stood, clinking in a new form of armor, "I wouldn't do that if I were you. In a moment the school will be riddled with the sounds of battle. I must rid the school of the Dark Hunter."

Genesis shifted on his feet, "Dark Hunters are serious business. They're not healthy for angels. After all...they're what's trying to kill you."

 

Schuyler stood there thinking for a miment.
"you mean that strange bpok that was talking. You missed it tori, professor logos was sleeping during class. The book had sora come up from and touch it, then burned itself to keep his name out of it since he wasn't born an angel."
She had to pull herself together, she was getting sidetracked.
"i'm not sure. Only the professor would know that. What's so special about it?"

Kaila watched ren and scraps curiously.
"what are you doing?"

Tristan sat up and looked confused.
"are you talking about thst lulu chick? She still hasn't been taken care of? I thought she was captured and stuff. How did she get away?"
He felt like a twenty question ball, but he really was concerned.

Giselle grabbed genesis's shoulder.
"is that what that guy from earlier was? A dark hunter?"

 

Kiel scrubbed back his hair, "You mean you don't know? That book knows everything about the past and future involving the angel race. They call it the Book of the Grey. I'm not sure why...despite that it's gray..." He drifted off, pondering the thought before shaking his head hard, "It would know if Tori's right to be the High Court Seraph."

Scraps dragged a blue lidded box from under a table and Ren scrounged through it's contents. He frowned, "It's gone... Just a few days ago I had a book of the cycles of the Tree of Life in Heaven. With it gone...I don't really remember the start of the next one. If the Tree of Life sprouts a new Seraph for the High Court and Tori isn't accepted it will take even longer to sort out these problems. Tori has at least been here...she has a connection with Amittai that with a bit of training she would be able to form into a link and let him guide her from Heaven. The new Seraph, if he's born, will change the situation drastically. It's in all of our best interest to aid Tori in being the new Seraph of the High Court." Ren frowned, releasing Kaila, "Yuukki...made that book for me. Where could it have gone?"

Sanya nodded, her red eyes turning misty, "Lulu...killed the High Court Seraph that captured her. His barrier will deteriorate over time but she's trapped in the school until then. I'm going to send her back to Hell where she belongs. As a member of the Dark Court...I will avenge my Lord Kyrios' brother."

Genesis winced slightly and shrugged out of her grip, "Yes. Nero the Sable is also a Dark Hunter. They're demons employed by an angel named Kadaj. He fell from Heaven for a power much darker than those in Hell. You two, plus two others are going to stop him and protect the angelic race." He gave her a hopeful smile.

 

Tori looked up quickly.
"really? Maybe we should go find the professor. I'm sure she would know."
She hurried in the direction of sanya's classroom pulling kiel along. Half way there she stopped.
"oh...she was in the infirmary earlier...i wonder if she's still there..."
Tori turned and hurried in the other direction with kiel being dragged behind her.

Schuyler watched them leave and shrugged. She thought about the boy in the infirmary and decided to go visit him.
"i'm gonna go guys. Catch'ya at dinner."
She hurried towards the infirmary.

"oh I see."
Kaila crossed her arms and walk over to a chair. She knew things like this would happen, but it still hurt. Especially since it started so quickly. She sat there brooding. It wasn't right for her to be so jealous of a dead woman, but she was.

Tristan stood up quickly, almost stumbling.
"are you serious? That guy is dead? So she must of ran into my room after she killed him. That explains how she got away."
He trailed off. Tristan had only known the seraph for a brief amount of time, but he seemed like an all right guy.

Giselle dropped her hand to her side.
"save the world? You've got to be kidding. How are we supposed to save the world?"

 

Kiel laughed under his breath the whole way. He shuffled a few steps ahead of her and grabbed the doorhandle. Yanking it open, they nearly ran into Sanya on her way out. "Professor Logos!" Sanya looked up at them and lifted one blonde brow in confusion.

Ren leaned on his desk and glanced at Kaila. "You're not jealous of Yuukki again are you? Yuukki was a human...she wouldn't have lived half as long as I will even if she wasn't involved in the Dark Court. I've accepted she's gone, Kaila. I've grieved too long for her. I can see that now. Being upset over something I couldn't have changed blinded me to a brighter love." He lifted her chin and half closed his yellow eyes. "What would I do without you?"

Penny remained silent until he noticed the guy and girl from before. "Damn...it's those two again. Tristan...that guy seriously is scary. I wonder what he's doing here?"

Genesis shrugged, "Hell if I know." He moved cautiously through the school and sat them down in the dining hall. "You guys hungry? Tired?"

 

Tori stammered as they almost ran into the teacher.
"professor! Ah...umm..we-we needed to ask you um something. About your um book. Could we...um see it?"
She fidgetted uncomfortably in front of sanya..

Schuyler came walking up behind them, not expecting to see kiel and tori at the infirmary.
"oh. Hello again. I forgot the professor was here when we left. Makes sense I guess."
She stood behind them waiting while thdy finished up. The three were blocking the doorway so she didn't have much of a choice.

Tristan watched tori and kiel reappear at the entrance of the door.
"really? He didn't seem so bad when they showed me where to find you. At least that tori is pretty cute. I wonder if they're together."
He sat back down on the bed.

Kaila looked up at ren and smiled.
"that's a good question. What would ren do without kaila? Be the gloomy sourpuss he presents himself as. You were rather grumpy until yo tutu finally started opening up. It did make teasing you fun however. I'll come to miss that. But this is so much better."
She leaned in closer to him.
"is that really how you feel about me ren? Do you love me ren? Because you always refused to show interest, it makes it hard to believe that's how you feel."

Giselle took a seat at the table and shrugged.
"i'm not really hungry. We were in the middle of lunch before all that stuff happened. Not really tired either. You just want to get rid of us right? You seem distracted."
She sighed and rested her head on the table.

 

Kiel purred quietly, "The Book of the Grey. It's in your classroom isn't it?"

Sanya nodded and shoved them aside. "If you'll excuse me...I've got a demon to hunt."

Kiel watched her go with wide eyes. "Whoa...for a short girl she's...kinda psycho..."

Ren smirked and touched his nose to hers. Spreading his wings to blot out the light around them he kissed her with as much passion as he would allow to slip through without losing all control. "You know very well that's how I feel about you. If I could have but only one night with you, I'd prove it over and over again."

Penny glanced at Kiel and Tori's clasped hands and folded his arms behind his head, "Looks like it to me."

Genesis shook himself, "Sorry...there's a lot of tension in the air and I haven't found Lord Kyrios yet... I'm worried something happened while I was gone. Seraph Amittai should've found you two by now and lectured you about whatever your job is." He avoided looking at Giselle directly for the sake of his sanity. No girl before had not become frustraited with his attitude before and that made him like them. But this human seemed just as detatched as he did and he didn't just like her. It was an odd feeling in the pit of his stomach. He liked the Allen boy too, which made him more confused and unwilling to show his natural colors to them.

 

Tori watched sanya leave and then turned to look at kiel.
"so...do you think that means we're allowed to just go into her classroom? 'cause she didn't say we couldn't, but she didn't say we could either."

Kaila let herself be kissed by ren. She enjoyed every moment of, not wanting it to end. Kaila spread her lips into a smile.
"you can prove it to me as much as you want. I've been waiting a number of years to hear those words come from your mouth. I always just believed I was setting myself up for disappointment. I never actually thought you would reciprocate. But it is wonderful."
She kissed hi m again. She knew he was trying to hold back, but she wanted him to let go of his restraints.

Tristan shrugged and laid back.
"whatevs. Don't bother me none."

Schuyler sauntered into the infirmary, noticing the extra body on a cot.
"oh hello. I don't think we've met yet. I'm schuyler."
She gave him a wave as she stopped between the two beds.

Tristan raised an eyebrow and sat back up.
"oh, hey. Name's tristan. I see why penny likes you."
He noticed her blush a little as she sat down next to penny.

Giselle picked her head thinking a bit.
"is there someone you could go talk to? Or a place where people would be at?"
She was trying to be helpful even though she had no clue.

 

Kiel shrugged. "I suppose...well you are currently the Seraph of the High Court...I'm not sure if they can stop you..." He made a face as if he didn't think the wording was correct and sounded foolish.

Penny kicked Tristan, "Shut up! You're not very subtle, y'know." He blushed and glanced sideways at Schuyler.

Ren struggled with all of it. The emotions roiling inside him and Kaila's touch. "S-stop...just....just a minute..." he panted, pulled away from her and stumbled away from her. Trying desperately to center himself, Ren closed his eyes and rested his hand on a desk. He wasn't one to say stop usually. But without it...the Dark Court would feed through him off of Kaila's emotions. He wouldn't rob her off her senses like that. It was always a dull feeling once he took what he couldn't return. "Kaila..." he figured the most logical for her was to be upset and leave. He didn't want her to leave.

Genesis closed his eyes, "Just give me a minute..."

 

Tori looked at kiel awkwardly as they walkwd to sanya's classrom.
"that sounds really weird. Can we say it as little as possible?"

Kaila stood and walked over to ren. She only placed her hand on top of his, so she could be intimate without suffocating him.
"ren what's the problem? I know about the emotion thing. Well sort of. Won't you please talk to me? rather than hide?"
She stared up at him with a worried look on her face. It would be hard to get close if he was always pulling away. She had waited a long time.

Tristan laughed as he laid back on the cot with his hands behind his head.
"wasn't trying to be subtle."
A smile spread across his face as he closed his eyes.

Schuyler turned to face penny as she sat on the edge of the bed.
"so um...are you feeling better? No more panicking? Or fainting?"
She set her hands down on the bed and rocked on the edge.

"okay."
Giselle sat there quietly while genesis thought.

 

Kiel shrugged, "Sooner or later you're going to have to come to accept it, y'know. It is after all your new title. Though it is sort of awkward." He smiled, chuckling, "Hard to imagine you as a real Seraph when you don't have all those wings they do."

Ren exhaled, "Yes...well...Kyrios' curse is much more...intense than those around me believe it is. With a simple, intimate touch, I could steal all your emotions without you realizing it. I don't want to turn you into a husk of a woman that you are. But I don't know how to remove it on my own. If I could just...control it...." He gritted his teeth and turned, brushing her hair from her face. "If it meant I could be with you, I'd be willing to do anything."

Penny scratched his cheek though it felt more like it was burning than itching. "Yeah...I'm, uh, alright now. S-say...are you...doing anything later? I mean...if we're able to leave this place."

Genesis felt a dull ping in his head and pain blossomed right behind his eyes. "And there it is... Lord K...ah, Sitnah should be on his way here now. He said he has something to tell me."

 

Tori shrugged as she walked down the hallway.
"yeah, well maybe i'll luck out and not have to be a seraph. That's a lot of pressure. Plus sprouting wings hurt enoufh when I was little, if I have to go through that like four more times. Well it would really suck."
She stopped in front of sanya's classrom, hesitating. Tori wasn't sure if she was ready to hear what the book had to say.

Kaila could almost literally feel her heart melting. It amazed her how easily ren made her turn into putty. She pulled him closer to her. With her hands on the collar of his shirt, she whispered in his ear.
"then we'll fix it together. If you can't do it on your own, then maybe you weren't meant to do it that way."

Schuyler put her finger ip to her cheeck as she thought for a moment.
"hmm...well it's not safe now because of the dark hunter loose in the building....and i'm supposed to have a girl's night with tori. We have to talk about her relationship with kiel, which has apparently changed dramatically in the last hour or so...but I should have some free time brtween dinner and then. So yeah, after dinner we can go for a walk or something if you want. I can show you the castle. it's quite incredible. Or we could play a game. I packed my cards and i'm pretty awesome at poker. Just saying."
Schuyler had a large smile on her face. She quite enjoyed talking, but nobody usually wanted to listen to her. She wondered if always talking was a trait of the summer court, if so she had it down.

Tristan listened to schuyler ramble as he started to fall asleep. He let a quiet chuckle as her voice grew more distant in the background.

Giselle watched genesis questioningly.
"you can communicate telepathically? That's so cool."

 

Kiel dropped Tori's hand and set his on her shoulders. "You'll be alright. Whatever it has to say, I'll always be right here."

Ren closed his eyes and kissed her. Naturally the taste of her feelings filled his senses. Was this the normal taste? Or something new? He couldn't quite put his finger on the taste of it but after a while he didn't want to care about the taste of her feelings, only the feel of them. He pulled her close to his body and tilted her chin up so he could rain kisses along her neck and jawline.

Penny nodded, "Sounds like a date! Uh...I mean...a...um...w-well n-not like that..." he stuttered and facepalmed.

Genesis opened his eyes. Several blood vessels had burst behind his eyes, giving the whites of his eyes a red tint. "It's not a fun thing to do." He slid down and sat on the floor. His sword clattered noisily on the hard, marble flooring. "For humans...you think a lot of things are cool. What's cool is that your kind can go their whole lives without wings. The lack of the feeling of freedom must be infuriating."

 

Tori gave kiel a halfhearted smile as she pulled away and pushed the door open.
"so um...where do you think it is?"

The feel of ren's warm lips on kaila's neck gave her goosebumps. It sent chills down her spine, but she didn't mind because it felt incredible. She was practically hovering over the edge of the chair, but didn't care. Kaila just wanted to be as close to ren as possible. While he kiased her neck, she spoke through panted breaths.
"ren leahpar, i am going to do such unspeakable things to you."
She lunged forward at him, almost nocking over a small table.

Schuyler couldn't help but laugh a little at how nervous penny was. She patted his cheek as she stood up off the bed.
"relax. There's no reason to be so nervous. It's a date. It's like you've never been on a date with an angel before."
She let out a little giggle at her joke. He obviously had never been on a date with an angel. And once she thought about, she had never been on an actual date either. Schuyler started to get butterflies in her stomach, she was a lot more nervous now than she was ten seconds ago.
i think i'm going to be sick. My stomach is in knots now.

Tristan rolled over onto his side and mumbled something half asleep. It sounded something along the lines of, "don't be a coward pen..."

Giselle saw genesis's bloodshot eyes and watched him slump to the floor.
"how could you not want wings? If I had wings I would leave. I'd fly away and never come back."
She sat there in a daze, thinking about how nice it would be to run away. It's not like her parent a would know she was missing anyway. They're on the road more than not.

 

Kiel followed her with a mask of seriousness on his face. "Hmm...the last place I saw it, the thing was on her desk. I'd say...look around there." Scrounging around Sanya's desk he found several manga books and magazines of...toys? "Weird...Professor Logos is like a little kid."

Ren fell backwards with Kaila on him. "I had no idea you were so anxious, Kaila." he laughed, stroking her cheek with the backs of his fingers. "I didn't think you knew my last name."

Penny shook his head and waved a hand at Tristan, "Psssh...who's a coward? Alright, Schuyler, I'll take you up on your offer." In his head a plan formed. He almost felt guilty for developing a crush on an angel....almost. Minus the wings, she was like a normal girl he delt with everyday. And wings weren't something he couldn't work around.

Genesis stretched his wing, "Yeah...they're great alright... But you're just so interesting. Someone with human genes and yet doesn't have wings...it's like there's something missing in your chromosomes."

 

Tori skimmed through the piles on sanya's desk rather angrily.
"she really is a packrat. Her desk is so cluttered. Child-like is right."
She kept shuffling through the drawers.
"i don't see it."

Kaila couldn't believe the words that came out of ren's mouth.
"are you serious? Ren we've worked together for years. How could I not know your last name?"
She looked down at ren curiously.
"do you not know mine?"

"wonderful."
schuyler left the infirmary in a blissful rush. She needed to get ready before dinner. She wanted to talk to tori first, but since she and kiel were on a mission, she didn't have time. Schuyler hurried down the hallways towards her dorm.

Giselle felt a little insulted and it showed on her face.
"why do we have to be the strange ones? you could be the different, with a mutated gene or something."

 

Kiel frowned and sat in her overstuffed chair. "Would you kindly...GET OFF ME?!" Jumping up, Kiel lifted the cushion of the chair and lifted the book out from her chair. "Well...looks like I found it. Uh, sorry 'bout that, Book." The Book growled and opened, flipping pages to form a face on a middle of a random page. "Please don't call me that. If you must call me anything, I'd prefer Grey-sama." Kiel rolled his eyes, "I'm not adding honorifics. Alright...so, Tori wants to know if she's going to remain and stay the Seraph of the High Court. You do know that--" "That Lord Yves Amittai Kvizts, Seraph of the High Court and creator of the Angelic Law of Order has passed away around half an hour in the past from this current moment? Yes, I do know. You see, it's all written here." it flipped open to a long page scralled with all of Yves' accomplishments.

Ren rolled his eyes. "I don't believe I was informed when you came here. Most of the time when I meet a pretty new face I stop listening after her first name." He smirked and framed her face with his hands, "And how could I resist or listen when such a gorgeous woman stood in front of me during the beginning school years."

Penny sank back down on the cot and couldn't help but smile. "Wow....angels are as easy as humans. I guess they're not so different."

Genesis chuckled, "Perhaps...but when you're born like yourself and grow wings...you tend to forget what it's like being wingless." He jumped up as Lord Kyrios sauntered his way into the dining hall. His pale face was a mask of anger and deathly gloom. Midnight blue-ish hair rumpled as if someone had ran their fingers through it and yanked him around. His yellow python could be seen flicking her tongue out from under his cloak.

 

Tori touched the edge of the book nervously.
"so ah...could you tell us what you know about me? Antoria harnest? Whether my outcome looks good or not?"
She prodd ed d at it's pages, probably making it mad for poking it in the face.

Kaila pulled ren's hands off her face rather angrily.
"as flattering as that may be my dear, you should still learn a girl's name. Especially if you have plans of knowing yhem longer than a moment."
She rolled off of him, lying on her back with her arms crossed over her chest. She laid there muttering about how absurd it was that ge didn't know her name while staring at the ceiling.

tristan laidthere on his side. He still wasn't fully asleep, but enough to mix his thoughts up quite a bit.
"you sound like a player...ladies don't like aardvarks...i wouldn't mess with trees than can turn me into toads..."

Giselle was too distracted by the snake to really pay attention to the man.
"is...is that a python?"
She quickly picked her feet up off the floor, being terrified by snakes.
