Angelic Divinity

Giselle tapped her foot impatiently. She wanted answers, but knew there probably wasn't time for it.
"well?"
She stood there questioningly.

 

Kiel mustered a smile, patting her head, "It's alright. I'll take you to your room if you want. I'm sure....the other Seraphim will take care of the barrier...and...finding a suitable place for Yves right now." He could hear Uriel coming before he saw her. Her face a wet streaked mess of makeup and tears. "Yves! No...no...NO!" she shrieked and Kiel felt the backs of his eyes burning. Seeing such a strict and serious teacher break down was too much for him in one day. "We should definately go now Tori." He stood and pulled her up with him.

Genesis opened and closed his mouth several times before folding his arms. "I'd hoped you wouldn't bring up the one wing thing... This...was my punishment for not bringing you earlier and for not getting your full names. Don't you lecture me about being rude, missy."

 

Tori stood up rather wobbly and walked around the professor quietly. She didn't know what to say to her teacher and knew none of it would really help. She steppe a out of the room and climbed the stairs wordlessly. The full impact of what she had been assigned with. She did realize this meant that she had to finish picking who protected what humans. He said that kiel and herslef were watching the perry boy. Tori wondered who else he wanted to protect the four humans. She let out a heavy sigh as they entered the dining hall.
"we should probably check on the humans. I have no clue where mr. perry is at. Everyone should know what's happened today."
She stumbled into a chair and sat down.
"i'm exhausted...it's going to be a long night."
Tori let out another sigh as she sat there staring at the table.

Schuyler left the training ground in a hurry. Something happened to the high court seraphim, but didn't hear what it was. It obviously wasn't good. That was the only thing she could tell for sure. She ran over to sora and shane to see if they knew anything.
"hey! Did you hear what's going on? It sounds bad, whatever it is."

Kaila dismissed her class and then heard a lot of commotion out in the hallways. She followed after to see what was going on. She managed to stumble upon enan roaming the hallways. She hurried over to him and noticed how out of it he looked.
"hey, enan what's wrong?"
She placed a hand on his shoulder to comfort him. He was clearly upset.

Giselle sighed and walked over to the one-winged angel.
"all right, whatever, let's go. I'm sorry you lost your wing because of us."
She stood there waiting for them to leave.

Tristan walked out of the bedroom and wandered through the hallways. He had no idea where penny was at, but he figured he'd go look for him. He couldn't be too far away.

 

Kiel stood next to her at her right shoulder. "I'm sure he wouldn't...have left all this for you to do by yourself. We should see if the other Seraphim have any idea what Yves' duties were. Plus...I'll be right here to help you out. I promise." He sat beside her and brushed a lock of her hair behind her ear. "I may not know what you're thinking....but I can help."

Enan jerked, jolting himself out of his thoughts. "Ah...Kaila...shouldn't you be with Ren? Oh..what happened....Lord Amittai...is dead. Lulu...er, the Dark Hunter he captured earlier killed him. Ah, don't worry...I have Dark Court soldiers patrolling the halls to flush her out of the school."

Genesis huffed, "Well I can't carry two people..so we'll have to walk to the school... Alright, the Acadamy is that desolate building up there beyone the forest. And...I was trying to be incognito when I first met you. Out right saying I'm an angel...is kinda...freaky to you humans."

 

Tori nodded and looked up at kiel. A small smile spread across her face. It was nice knowing he was there for her, but given everything that happened, her feelings towards kiel should have been the last thing on her mind. she couldn't help from thinking about it though. He had been so wonderful to her the entire time.
"let's go I guess."
She stood and grabbed kiel's hand.

Kaila was taken off gaurd.
"be with--"
she stopped midsentence when he said ammitai was dead.
"what? You're joking right? It's not true...is it?"
Kaila grabbed enan's hands and stood in front of him. She was trying to keep herself together because it appeared enan wasn't doing to well at it. She hated the courts, but it didn't mean she hated everyone in it. She actually really liked the seraph. That kind of news was some of the worst.

Giselle shrugged as she headed towards the woods.
"you mean there is actually stuff at that old school?"
She walked into the tree-lining in wonderment.

 

Kiel grinned and walked beside her, keeping a look out for the Seraphim or Lulu.

Enan swallowed hard, "It is true... My brother, Amittai...has returned to Heaven to partake on his journey from life to death. He...won't be returning." Enan sobbed quietly and held onto Kaila's hands.

Genesis nodded once. He felt terrible, just taking the two from their homes in the human world...in their oblivious lives and thrusting them into his world. Though he did kind of like Giselle's sassiness and Allen's bravery.

Kallai said her goodbye's to Kyrios as he left to say his own goodbyes to Yves' body. She felt weak and tired. Now Kyrios was the eldest Seraph and he would have the most pull around here until they found an heir for Yves.

 

Tori walked silently until she noticed tristan roaming the halls.
"hey! Where are you going."
She walked over to him and stopped.

Tristan turned around quickly as he heard someone calling for him.
"oh. It's you. I was just looking for penny. I haven't seen him since he disappeared earlier. I wanted to make sure he was okay."

Tori nodded and signalled for him to follow them.
"we took him to the infirmary earlier. He managed to walk into our weapons class and faint. Does he do that often?"
She watched as tristan shrugged.

Kaila bit her lip to try and contain the sadness she was feeling. Enan needed comfort more than she needed to be upset. Kryios wasn't the ideal person to be in charge, but hopefully he wouldn't take advantage of it.
"who do you think will be appointed the new high court serph?"
She felt it was better to keep someone talking when they are down. It makes the grieving a little easier.

Giselle crept through the woods carefully. She promised herself she wouldn't return to them until it seemed safe, now was definitely not that point. She kept watch for any broken tree branches about to fall or large animals running out.

 

Kiel carefully kept silent and kept a careful watch around them. "I take it you two aren't the best of friends then. Either way...we must be careful. Lulu's still in the school."

Enan sighed an exhaled on a wavy breath. "Yves said Tori would take his place...but...if our Holy Father disagrees with his choice then a new Seraph will have to be born from the Tree of Life in Heaven and brought down to earth when the time is right for them. That could take years..." He wanted to curl up in a corner and die himself. "My brother...was the best..at what he did. He kept order...and a smile on his face even when he was in pain or tired. We asked too much of him...I should've taken some of his burden before and helped him out."

Genesis kept a hand on his sword, though he felt tired from the day already. "You don't have to be so cautious. I'm right here and I'd rather take a wild wolf than another of my Lord's punishments."

 

Tori shrugged and continued to walk silently until they arrived at the infirmary.
"he's in there. If you want to sit with him, i'll have someone get the two of you when dinner starts."
She was about to walk away but stopped and turned back towards him.
"i'm sure there's going to be a big announcement over dinner. You won't want to miss it."
Tori turnes to walk away in no particular direction.

Kaila was baffled by the decision of the high court seraph.
"a first year student with two days of training? That's ridiculous."
She noticed enan wasn't really in the talking mood and felt horrible about it.
"do you want to sit down? You look like you're ready to collapse."

Giselle weaved through trees and over brush.
"i haven't been able to walk through the woods safely in weeks. I've had three trees almost fall on me. So I walk cautiously."

 

Kiel followed on her heels, waving bye to Tristan. "Where to now?"

Enan trailed his hand down the wall, sliding down until he was hunched over his knees on the ground. "What...do I do? I have to make sure Kallai stays safe and yet...Kyrios will wipe the floor with me. I don't have any supporters here in the school. With Kallai's Summer Children running arond in the human world, the Winter Court can't do anything. This is so wrong..."

Genesis yawned and felt a tree whip him in the face. "Ow... Stupid tree..."

I guess that's another reason she cautious in the forest. Allen thought as he followed behind them.


Both Shane and Sora knew nothing else about what had happend, but all he did know was that someone was attacked. "Yeah, wasn't there like a protective barrier around the school of something?"

"Guess they figured a way to get passed it." Shane said.

 

Tori walked down the hallways in a bit of a daze.
"i'm not really sure. I feel like I should be doing something. Anything other than nothing. It's...it's my duty...i guess..."
she just wandered around aimlessly for awhile and then suddenly stopped. She just stood there for a minute and then turned in the direction of her room.
"i have clothes. I can finally change into something clean..."

Kaila sat down next to enan and squeezed his hand.
"you're not all alone here. I had asked ammitai to inform you that I needed to speak with you. I planned on telling you that I changed my mind about helping you with the experiment. Whatever you need. I'll be there. You don't have to feel entirely out of place."
It was weird to think that the winter seraph wanted to protect the summer seraph. They were supposed to be opposites, but it showed how much enan cared for kallai.

Tristan pushed open the doors and entered the infirmary. He saw penny towards the back and headed over to him.
"hey man."
He sat down on the bed next to penny's.

Giselle let out a small chuckle as she walked behind genesis.
"my point exactly...kind of..."
She ducked under a branch as she walked.

Schuyler walked with the guys in a hurry.
"i wonder what happened. It sounds really bad. Whatever it is."

 

Kiel still followed her, "Alright, I'll wait outside in the hall until you finish changing. At least, you're taking it seriously, Tori. Unlike someone, like Genesis, I'm sure would make things even worse off."


Enan's face lit up like a child in a candy store. "Really?! Thank you Kaila. I do appreciate it. Good...with this Kyrios won't have full control over them and then we can actually do something good with the humans. I intend for the angels protecting the humans to build the bridge across the gap between the two species. To stop Kadaj and Demise, it's best if we're united."

Penny rubbed his forehead, "Hey, you look like you've seen a ghost. Somethin' up?"

Grumbling under his breath, Genesis kept walking and rubbed the bridge of his nose where the branch whipped him. "It's not funny."

 

tori didn't really have much to say. she did wonder what happened to genesis. he had come into the school injured, but wasn't in the infirmary. she just gave kiel a shrug as she walked into her room, shutting the door. tori noticed the suitcase in the corner and walked over to it slowly. she couldn't imagine there being very much inside of it. before her eyes were scratched, most of it appeared to be in shreds. cautiously, she unzipped the suitcase. there was more than she had expected. tori figured the teachers must have used magic to fix the clothing or something. she pulled out a white sundress and slipped out of her dirty clothes. there was this story she heard when she was a child that the proper thing to do at funerals was to where white, not black. white typically represents a new beginning, which is what happens for those that die. they are starting over someplace else.
tori hadn't worn the sundress in quite awhile, she had forgotten how nicely it fit her body. the thick straps covered her shoulders and the bodice fit snugly, while the waist fanned out. she brushed her hair out and then slipped back into her sneakers. tori let out a deep sigh before grabbing the door knob. she held onto it for a moment almost afraid to open the door. finally, she pulled open the door, seeing kiel on the other side.
"i hope i didn't make you wait long."

kaila was startled by how enthusiastic enan had become. she wasn't expecting that big of a reaction, but it did make her pleased to see him cheer up a bit. she had already grown to miss how playful he was. being down didn't really seem to be in his nature.
"well...i'm glad i could help out. you're not very fun when you're this upset. what would we do without our games and banter?"
she was trying to keep him cheerful, although her mind went elsewhere. kaila wondered if Demise was the name of kadaj's master. she still had an important task to take care of. kadaj needed that spell, and she needed to keep him from getting it. she had no clue as to what she would do, but she would do something. and she needed to do it soon.

tristan's mind wandered to the events of the bedroom. everything that had happened really shook him up, even if he didn't show it. he had always been good at hiding emotions, which helped. he shook his head and inspected penny who was lying on the bed next to him.
"nah man i'm good. what happened to you? you just disappeared and now you're in the infirmary? you look fine."

giselle stiffled her laugh as she walked.
"you're right. it's not, but i've spent nearly every day in these woods for the past three years, and up until recently i've never had any problems. now all sorts of strange things happen."
she thought about the man from earlier.
"are you planning on telling us what's going on? or are we supposed to just keep following you and hoping we're not going to die?"

 

Kiel turned his head slowly. He’d rested his back against the wall and slipped into a daze. Now looking at Tori seemed like a dream. “You look beautiful, Tori.†He held out his hand, palm up for her to take. “Shall we go?â€

Enan smiled. He was grateful for Kaila’s support and her words. Standing he stretched and spread his wings. Feeling the tug of his muscles. "Yes...I'm glad you came along. But isn't Ren the one you're interested in?"

Penny swung his legs over the side of the bed and grinned, [COLOR='darkorange"]"Yeah...I guess the shock of it all kinda made me freak out. I'm all good now. After all, who has time to be shocked when a pretty girl hangs around ya."[/COLOR] He thought back to Schuyler and felt his blood warm.

Genesis spread his wing, removing branches from the path, he revealed the school to them and rubbed his wingless shoulder. "This is our school. Be respectful of the students and teachers...they're touchy about humans. And...if you see an angel with more than one set of wings...bow and shut your mouth."

 

Tori blushed a little as she took kiel's hand.
"thank you. It feels nice to wear clean clothes. I was starting to fear I would have to wear that same outfit everyday."
She looked down at her hand. It felt right having it interlocked with kiel's. she still hadn't told kiel how she felt. she fely weird about it since they had only known each other three days. Tori was afraid that whatever it was she felt was just her imagination. Three days couldn't have been long enough to develope feelings that serious.
"kiel...about earlier...before schuyler interrupted...i was trying to tell you something. I know how you feel. And...and..."
She turned to face him and took his other hand in hers. It took her a minute to work the courage to look up at him.
"i like you too...but I don't know. It's only been three days. I just don't feel like that's enough time. I'm sorry if that's not good enough for you."

Kaila smiled as she stood up and dusted herself off.
"of course it is. I've always cared for ren. I just enjoy my encounters with you is all. My heart will always belong to that fical dark angel, but it's nice to speak with others now and again."
She gave enan a pat on the arm as she turned to walk away.
"you seem happier than before, which means i've done my job. Now it's time for you to do yours. Let me know when you want to get started. I'm going to see that fical dark angel now."

Tristan looked at penny curiously.
"did you meet someone too?"

Giselle stopped and looked at the castle in wonderment.
"it's incredible. I really wish I had my camera. I could take pictures for hours."
She almost tripped from being so focused on the school.

 

Kiel turned his face away from her, trying to hide his blush. "I....It's alright, Tori. I-I don't expect you to suddenly want to be...ah...I mean.... I'm not going to push you. I get it. Three days is a really short time. I just....I'm glad...at least that you feel that way. I thought I was the only one...and then I thought I was being an idiot...I..." He closed his eyes and his mouth and sighed, "I'll wait as long as you need. Eventually...things will work out."

Enan watched her walk away and shook his head, "She's a dangerous one, that woman. I almost feel bad for Ren...almost."

Ren sat quietly in his classroom, staring at the bird bones splayed on his desk with such intensity that one might fear they were about to jump up, reassemble and dance before him.

Penny winked at him, "Sure did. Her name is Schuyler. She's not really my type but...hey a guy can change, can't he? Angels...even the girls here, they're like the girls from school. Gossiping, fawning over some hot teacher they call Professor Ren and kids faking a stomach ache to get out of a test." His eyes widened and he turned away, "And then there's...Miss Logos there. For a teacher, she's short and childish." Sanya frowned behind Tristan at Penny.

Genesis grabbed her upper arm and placed himself so she would fall into him, "I'm afraid, any pictures are prohibited. Unless you sprout wings, you can't take a picture. But, lucky for you two, you'll be heading inside to meet a rather weirdly happy guy. Just remember what I said about the adults with more than one pair of wings. Bow and shut your mouths."

 

Tori gave kiel a sheepish smile as she let go of his right hand, but continued to hold his left.
"we should probably find the others. I'm sure not everyone has heard what happened yet. Telling them is now my duty afterall."
Her voice was very flat. There was no way she was prepared to be in charge of everyone. It would be a nightmare, but at least it was nice to know kiel would be there by her side through it all.

Kaila knocked on ren's door lightly.
"ren? Are you in there? I need to talk to you right away. Something's happened."
She waited outside his door patiently.

Tristan turned and saw the small semimechanical girl behind him.
"uh hello."
He gave her a wave before turning back to face penny.
"schuyler huh? Someone's got a crush already. That was fast. Human girls aren't good enough for yoy?"
Tristan let out a laugh as he spoke.

Giselle gave genesis a nod as she pulled away from him and walked towards the buildinf.
"it is truly incredible though. I can't wait to see inside."

 

Kiel nodded. He didn't know at all what to say to make her feel better about her job. Yves had said he'd watch over her, but that wasn't much help as this was still reality and he was gone.

Ren jumped, bumping the bones and his vision blurred. Rubbing his eyes he stood and groped the wall until he found the door. Pulling it open he continued to rub his eyes, "Yes...I know all about the High Court Seraph's death. There's only one advantage to being a bone finatic...and that's the ability to see everything with a small amount of concentration."

Penny watched Sanya slip back further into the infermary and continue the soft clanking noises she made before. Groaning, he frowned at Tristan, "Not in the slightest. She was just interesting. After all...the girls at school are boring and original. I think this girl will be my new ticket to seeing something unique. Ah, don't you worry none, Tristan... Sooner or later...all the girls come around to me."

Genesis escorted the two into the building and noted the tense atmosphere. Confused he pulled out a tuning fork? and struck it against the wall. The dull ringing sounded through the school and somewhere, Lulu shrieked in pain from the sound.

 

Tori walked until she saw schuyler, sora, and shane. She stopped abruptly when she saw them.
"hey umm...did you guys hear yet? About lord ammitai?"
She shuffled uncomfortably.

The first thing schuyler noticed before tori spoke wad that she and kiel were holding hands. She wanted to know what changed, but then was distracted when tori spoke. She shook her head no and listened as she told them what happened.
"no. You're kidding right? So who's going to be the next seraph?"
Schuyler looked confused as she saw how uncomfortable tori appeared to have grown in a matter of seconds.

Kaila entered ren's room and immediately noticed how out of it he appeared.
"are you okay? You kind of look like a mess."
She brushed the hair out of his face and trailed her fingers along his jawline.

Tristan laughed heartily. He couldn't believe how smug penny was. This was the first time they had ever spent any time together and tristan was learning more about,him in this one day than expected.
"wow. Whatever you say man. Talk about full of yourself."

Giselle looked around nervously as she heard the faint sound of screams.
"what was that?"
