Angelic Divinity

Lulu released Kiel and snapped at Tori like a feral dog. Grabbing at Lulu, Kiel felt her dress slip out of his fingers as she twirled and fled from the hall. "Ah, screw it! Tori, c'mon, we have to find Yves."

Lulu ran quickly, turning corners at random since she couldn't leave the school grounds. Flinging open the nearest door, Lulu slammed it behind her and snarled at the sight of Tristan and Jean in front of her. "Mortals...disgusting!"

Jean pulled away, her blue eyes wide as she backed away from Lulu. "Ah...L-Lulu the Bloody Bl-Blossom!"

Usagi followed after Giselle and so did the man with matted black hair. "Hey! Get back here! Right now!" he said, layering his voice with the same hypnotic undertones as the Serpent had done before. Usagi blankly twirled about around Giselle's head.

 

Tori dropped the broken plate and headed towards the door that lulu ran out of. She hurried between the teachers' chairs and down the staircase. Tori came to a hault when she saw the passed out commander on the floor.
"regi! commander regi wake up! Lord ammitai is in trouble!"
She grabbed his arms and started shaking the demon.

Tristan froze as he saw the demon rush into the bedroom.
"you! You're supposed to be ashes in a jar! Not...n-not h-here..."
His hands started shaking. If lulu was here, something bad must have happened.

Giselle felt something come over her. She slowed to a stop and turned to face the stranger following them. Although it was her body, something else was in control. Everything became hazy as her body took over by itself.

 

Allen continued to run until he saw Giselle stop and start to move in the other direction. Why is she moving towards the guy. He thought as he attempted to pull her away from the man. "Come on Giselle, we have to get out of here."

 

Giselle could hear allen's voice, but the words wouldn't come. She continued to move towards the man. Inside giselle was panicking, but without conttrol of her body it did no good. It seemed that no matter how hard she tried to fight it, resistnace was futile.

 

By this point Allen was pratically right in front of Giselle trying to get her to stop moving. Great, at the rate this is going it's not going to end well. He thought as he continued to try and stop her.

 

Giselle could feel allen pushing her back, but her body just kept moving forward. They were getting awfully close to the man and it wouldn't ve lkng before something really bad happened. Giselle could sense usagi freaking out above her, but no matter how hard she tried she couldn't break the spell.

 

Regi blinked his eyes open and rubbed his head, "Ugh...wh-what? Oh...Tori...I don't remember..." He shifted so he was sitting upright, "Huh...w-wait!" Kiel flung himself into the interrogation room and at Yves' side. "Tori! In here!" He flitted about, propping Yves' head up and feeling for a pulse. "C'mon man..."

Yves coughed, "Zadkiel... My shining...nephilium... You've come to my aid. For once, I'm not saving you." he chuckled and patted Kiel's hand.

Usagi planted himself on Giselle's face and the man scratched his hair. [COLOR="black[B]"Alright... Well, you look important if the little rabbit gave you a message. What did it say?"[/B]"][/COLOR]

Jean cringed as Lulu advanced towards them. "Eeek! Keenan help me!" As soon as Jean screamed a wash of warm air and yellow light erupted in the room. Once it faded, in it's place in front of Tristan and Jean stood a sandy blonde haired man with white wings tinged with the color of desert sand. "Jean? Lulu the Bloody Blossom. Stay behind me, Jean." He drew a large scimitar from its sheath at his waist.

 

Tori grabbed regi's hand pulling him up.
"c'mon! We gotta help him!"
She led regi into the room, seeing kiel sitting down by the seraphim.
"yves! You have to be okay. You-you can't die..."
She ran over to the old seraph's side. Tori wasn't ready to watch more people die in front of her. She had already seen so many. The tears poured down her face onto yves's arm.
"don't...don't die.."

All giselle could see was fluff. She spoke in a trance as she repeated the words that had come from inside her. She got a mouthful of hair from speaking. Everything was reacting on it's own. Giselle didn't know how she could regain control of her body. She kept trying to move parts of her body, but it was no use. She wondered if that was what it was like for a paraplegic. It was a terrifying feeling knowing she had no control of her body.

Tristan grabbed jean as the large angel stood in front of them. He felt useless, but had seen what she did outside. They didn't stand a chance. They would be lucky if this keenan guy could hold her off, but he wasn't sure how well he'd do with a stringed instrument. Ttistan figured it had to be enchanted somehow, lulu didn't appear to be the type that was lulled to sleep so easily.

 

Once Giselle had repeated whatever the rabbit had told his, Allen had moved in front of her as a make shift shield. While he had no idea what was going on or whatever she just repeated meant, but all he could tell was that it couldn't be good.

 

Yves swallowed, "Ah and my beautiful angel Tori. Are you worried about me? How sweet. You must...contain Lulu." He winced. His arm hurt...ached...and soon, bright sparkles started emitting from it. "That's not good. My time is up, little Tori...won't you continue on in my place?"

Kiel smushed his hands over the sparkles, "You can't go! Tori needs you...what about keeping the balance between the Courts?" Yves chuckled, deeply, warmly, "I will not die...I will return to Heaven. There, I will await you when you become full-fledged angels."

The man laughed and started coughing, "Oh man! Beware Nero the Sable! What are the chances!? I just happen to BE Nero the Sable! Lets see...you will come with me. Along with the rabbit!" He grabbed Giselle's arm and squeezed his hand around Usagi's fluffy body. "With the Children of Evangelion...Kadaj will finally get off my back!"

Keenan twirled his scimitar around in his hand and slashed at Lulu. Jean pulled on Tristan's arm. Lulu flicked her hair back over her shoulder and growled. Without her fan she didn't have her weapons. Curling her pale, slender fingers into claws, Lulu scratched at Keenan's face. With her fingers in the way, Keenan cut off three of her fingers, leaving only her first and thumb. Lulu screamed and gaped at her missing fingers. "What have you done?! This is why I hate angels! I'll get the Child eventuallY! You cannot stop Kadaj!" She fled from the room and Keenan groaned.

 

As soon as Nero the Sable grabbed Giselled arm, Allen grabbed his arm in attempt to stop him. "Let go!" he shouted as he tugged on his arm.

 

Tori choked back a sob.
"you...you want me to take over for you? but...but I wouldn't know the first thing. You can't go."
More tears came flowing as she tried to help kiel keep the sparkles fron leaving yves's body.
"you can't...you just can't..."
Her words were now barely a whisper. She kept trying to stifle the tears, but they would keep flowing anyway.

Giselle felt her body being pulled forward. She wanted to scream and fight back, but it was useless. She couldn't do anything. They needed help, but help didn't seem to be coming. Nobody knew they were out there or that they were in danger.
help...somebody please...please help. Please...

Tristan stood there in awe. He couldn't help but stare at the fingers on the ground. He managed to pull his attention away from the demon's fingers to check out the angel in front of jean and himself.
"did she scratch you? Her nails are supposed to be venomous. So if she scratched you, you'll probably wanna get help."
crazy b****...this place isn't safe.

 

Yves smiled, "Don't you worry none. I'll always be with you in your heart. I'll see you again." His smile faded as ice started to cover his legs. "What? Enan! Why?!" Enan glowered down at them from his place in the doorway. "I've had enough of you absorbing all the attention lately. Tori is too young to take the job of a Seraph. Our Father hasn't even accepted her as an angel or Guardian. So why...?" Yves wiped away the tears falling from Tori's cheeks, "But she is a Guardian. I've chosen her and Kiel to protect Tristan Perry. And until our Father chooses to interfere...Tori is the High Court Seraph in my place."

Genesis rounded the corner and glanced up at all the shouting. "What? Giselle! Allen! Who..." Drawing his sword, Genesis' boots beat on the ground until he reached Giselle's side. Elbowing Nero in the chest, he shoved Giselle away from him and put himself in front. "Ah, Usagi! You let him go!"

Nero growled, he whipped his arm up and down, shaking off Allen's grip. "How...you...filthy...ANGEL! I've had enough of this game... I'm taking the rabbit with me!" Genesis reached out for the rabbit, "NO! Usagi!"

Jean sobbed, "Keenan..." He turned, rubbing his cheek with four lines of pure red drawn down across it. "I'm alright, Jeanie. Who's this?" Jean bit her lip and shuffled to Keenan's side, cuddling into his side. "He's just a boy the High Court Seraph told me to escort to his room. I was leaving when Lulu the Bloody Blossom came in."

 

Tori wiped at the tears as she spoke.
"how am I supposed to run a court? especially the hight court. I don't know what i'm doing. I din't even know how i'm supposed to protect that human. Nobody's going to listen to a teenager..."
She knew arguing was useless, but she really wasn't ready to lead anybody. Tori could barely keep herself from getting into trouble.

Giselle landed on her butt after genesis pushed her out of the way. She tried to brace herself and hurt her wrists.
"ow! That was a little unnecessary."
She watched and saw nero reaching for the floating rabbit. She hurried to her feet and lunged herself at the small white rabbit.

Tristan stood awkwardly as the angel watched him. It was obvious jean didn't want to tell him rhe whole truth, which was fine. He didn't want to end up like the demon.
"yeah, she was just showing me the room when that blossom chick showed up. Names tristan."
He held out his hand to be shaken.

 

Yves shivered violently as Enan's ice covered his stomach. "Don't...be afraid Tori. My advisors will come and assist you in any important decision...and you have Kiel by your side. Do not be afraid of the others...they're your brothers and sister now. It's your choice who to put your trust in. I was going to hold a formal meeting with Father and everyone before deciding on my heir...but I suppose this will have to do. Enan...teach her what you can. The High Court is nothing to fear, Tori...Order is your sanctuary...Order means everything to them..." He fought to keep his eyes open and Enan took a step closer, "Enough of this nonsense! Yves! Do not name this child the Seraph! You...you can't leave us...compared to you...we're children... Kyrios will dominate us! Don't..." Yves wasn't listening anymore. He turned serious golden eyes to Tori's reddened face, "You will...do fine. I'll watch over you. Now...it'll take some time for your body to accept your new role...until then...you won't look like a Seraph angel. Your new wings will set in on your next birthday. I wanted....to watch you grow up Tori...I adore you...like my own daughter." Enan's ice covered the rest of him as he closed his eyes and let the ice form into a serene smile of peace. As if he were sleeping inside a crystal case of ice.

Enan fell to his knees, his bright blue eyes glittering with tears.

Kiel felt remorse...grief...and shame for feeling jealous of the old Seraph. He'd miss the old coot...and now all this burden was dumped on Tori's shoulders.

Genesis shoved Nero backwards into the bushes so no one could see his wing sprout and beat against Nero furiously. Shoving Genesis off him, Nero's metal hands grasped onto the branches of trees and he swung away like a monkey. Standing, Genesis growled, his wing still showing. As he turned he gaped, slack-jawed at Giselle holding Usagi in her hands. "Uwaaaa! You....Ah, Usagiiiiii~! Forgive me! She doesn't mean anything by it! Quick let him go!"

Jean shuffled her feet as Keenan stared at Tristan's outstretched hand and examined his face. "You are unfamiliar to me...Tristan. Yet you seem like someone important. I will not impale you just yet for kissing my dear Summer Girl." Jean blushed, "Nothing escapes your gaze...does it?" He smirked at her and frowned in turn. "Jean....this is unnacceptable. You're MY girl...you shouldn't be kissing other guys. Especially human guys. I know...you miss your own kind...but...Jeanie...I adore you...I made you a Summer Girl so we could be together."

 

Tori grabbed at enn's snoulders and shook furiously.
"why! Why did you do that? Bring him back! Bring him back..."
She dropped her hands and curled up against the wall. Tori tucked her head in betwden her knees as she sat there. She didn't want to see anyone's face anymore. She was always told it was ugly to cry, that ceying showed weakness, but now she couldn't keep herself from doing it. It had been this new thing, ever since she got to the school. It appeared to tori that it seemed to be a new common thing for her, showing weakness. All she wanged was someone to keep her from crying. While she sat there on the floor, she remembered how yves had told her that kiel would be her protector. He would somehow take charge and keep her safe. Before she couldn't believe it, but now she hoped it would be true.

Giselle stood up and let go of the rabbit.
"i was just trying to help. You looked preoccupied and that guy was reaching for him. It's not like any of this would have happened if that eabbit didn't show up in the first place."
She walked away angrily trying to ignore the fact that genesis had one wing. She kept telling herself it was her imagination, but she knew it couldn't have been. She would never imagine anything that had just happened, but it did.

tristan dropped his hand to his side and stood awkwardly. He mumled to himself about how he knew it had been a bad idea.
"i uh...i guess an apology won't be good enough? Will it?"
He felt stupid, it was just that kissing jean was the one nice thing to happen about this whole day and even that turned bad.

 

Kiel shuffled over to Tori and pulled her curled up form against his chest, holding her silently. Glancing over to Enan, who sat in shock, he spoke softly, "Seraph Enan...would you mind going and telling Uriel about this? I think...she should know."

Enan nodded, standing stiffly. "It's...eternal ice...it won't melt... I just...I didn't want him to fade away like all the others... I cared about him too, y'know. Yves...was my only friend when I became a Seraph." He walked out of the room and up the stairs slowly.

"Tori...we're going to ask Uriel to make a memorial shrine for him. No one's going to forget him." Kiel softly whispered to Tori. He hated seeing her like this, but if she held in her emotions, things would only become worse off.

Genesis followed after Giselle, Usagi resting on his shoulder. "Hey, hey, wait up! Listen to me! I thank you for protecting Usagi, but you have to realize that guy was seriously dangerous. I can't just let you wander off without protection!" He flapped his wing, unsteady as he walked. "Look at me! I'm an angel! Just like Nero said! You need to come with me or else more people like Nero will come after you!"

Jean hugged Tristan, "Don't worry. Keenan won't be angry forever. I'll come see you again soon. You'll be here, right? I'll see you later, cutie! Get some rest or that scary Seraph will yell at me." Keenan hugged her to him and they faded away in a bright yellow light.

Kallai met Kyrios at the front doors and sobbed silently. They knew very well Yves had passed on. Soon, either he would've named an heir or a Cherub would be hatched from the Tree of Life in Heaven.

 

"And who exactly was that in the first place?" Allen asked as he ran behind them.

 

Tori let kiel hold her without protest. She didn't have the energy to push him away. Fighting took far too much energy to muster. she just sobbed quietly in his arms. After a little while tori started yawning. That seemed to happen whenever she cried to much. She would start to get tired. If she didn't fet soon she would most likely fall asleep in kiel's arms. Tori wiped away at the last of her tears and turned her heac to look at kiel.
"kiel...thank you. It must be difficult trying to hold me with my wings in your face."
She attempted a smile as she gave him a kiss on the cheek. She knew they would have to go soon, but she didn't want to leave his side. Tori was afraid that if they left him, he wouldn't be there when they returned.
"i don't want to go...but lulu...she's still in the building. Yves...he cast a barrier spell...to keep lulu in and kadaj out. You think it'll disappear since he's no longer controlling it? She'll be able to leave..."
Another yawn escaped tori's lips as she tried to stay awake. Kiel's body was warm and it felt inviting, almost like it was begging her to sleep.

Giselle stopped and looked at genesis skeptically. She gave allen a quick glance, noping for backup.
"an angel? With one wing?"
She crossed her arms and stared him down. She knew it had to be true, but wanted him to sweat it out a bit for being rude that morning. Not to mention he could have shown up a little sooner.
"apologize first. Apologize for being rude this morning and I'll come with you. We both will."
Her gaze returned to allen, hoping he had something to say as well.

Tristan stood in the bedroom awkwardly. Once jean and keenan disappeared in the yellow light, the room felt rather empty. He wiped the glitter off the bed and sat down.
so much for sleeping. Maybe I can go find penny...

 

"She does have a point, a one winged angel is pretty skeptical." Allen added in. While it was true that things probably would've been worse it he'd hadn't came, he still couldn't help but think what took him so long.
