Angelic Divinity

Schuyler mumbled about how she didn't see any wings, but looked away from Kiel. She wrapped one of penny's arms around her shoulder as she grabbed him and slowly attempted to stand up. The weight made her wobbly and would have fallen over if it wasn't for Tori quickly grabbing the other side. Schuyler looked over to her appreciatively. She could see that Tori was uncomfortable, but managed to suck it up.

"I'll walk with Schuyler if that's all right?"
Tori looked up at the teacher after glaring at Kiel. He was making it harder and harder to be his friend. She really didn't like humans because of how she was treated growing up, but she managed to deal with it. Kiel was acting like a spoiled little child and she didn't like that in the least bit.

Tristan gave a quick and serious nod.
"I'll try to remember that. And who is Ren?"
He still kept thinking about that girl Tori from earlier. She seemed awfully friendly for not liking humans. He couldn't get past how incredible she looked. The pale skin contrasting the bright blue eyes and gray wings and hair. It was just overwhelming. He wondered if all angels were that amazing. Even that seraphim guy was pretty good looking in his own way. Tristan really didn't know what to believe anymore. Everything he thought was right turned out to be completely wrong.

 

Uriel nodded briefly, "Alright Tori. Schuyler, please stay with him in the infirmary just in case he wakes up. The nurse is a bit over the top." Sending them off, Uriel returned her glare to Kiel, "Perhaps you'd like to spend a day in the Dark Court and see if the attention is "usurped" from us angels. Our Father gives us as much attention as needed. The High Court is the only one that usurps any attention."

Regi blinked as a tiny flash of light rained down on him and a little white fluffy bunny floated down.

 

Tori and Schuyler both nodded in unison as they turned to leave. Tori quickly scanned the hallways looking for Yves and the others.
"If you see Yves let me know. I'm sure he's looking for Mr. Grimm."

Schuyler looked over to Tori as they drug the human along.
"Were these the people you were with outside? I saw you through the window. You missed professor logos's class. She was sleeping the whole time while some book did all the talking. It was weird."
Schuyler noticed some large doors in front of them.
"Is that the infirmary?"

"Yeah he was outside with me. There was another attack on the school. I'm sure sanya will forgive me if I tell her what happened."
Tori looked up seeing the towering doors.
"Yeah this is it. I was here last night to visit Kiel. Now I don't think he deserved being paid a visit."
They pushed through the large doors together and walked past rows of beds towards the nurse.
"Excuse me."

Tristan watched as the bunny came floating down like earlier.
"It's that rabbit again!"

 

The nurse smiled gleefully, "So many visitors today. Oh my...who's this cute thing? He looks rather strong, like your friend Mr. Uru. Place him on the bed and I'll check him out in a minute.

Penny felt softness surround his body and opened his eyes, staring up at Tori and Schuyler. "Not this place again. Not this dream again... This isn't happening, not to me."

Sanya slammed the infirmary door shut and glowered at the nurse until she backed away from Penny. "Human anatomy is my jurisdiction, thank you. This boy is fine. Actually I don't know why he's here. It's not yet time for Mr. Grimm to visit. You're early." she pulled out a small black calendar and frowned, "Next week...you were supposed to arrive next week."

Regi followed the rabbit with his eyes in surprise, "Usagi...the Lord's personal messenger. His messages are directly from the Lord. I don't think his message is for me though...are you looking for Lord Amittai again, Usagi?" The little rabbit remained stoic and twirled in the air. "I'll take that as a yes..." Usagi turned to Tristan and waved the rose in it's hand at him. "For...the human? Oh...well alright... Go ahead Tristan."

 

Tori rolled her eyes. She was getting sick of hearing about how he was dreaming.
"Honestly! How many times do I have to tell you this is real?"
she bit her tongue as sanya came running in.
"Oh, professor logos! He and Mr. Perry decided to go adventuring in the woods and came across a Snatcher. Mr. Grimm is having a hard time believing any of this is real when though he wanted to keep his memory of it all."

Schuyler stood next to Tori helplessly. Uriel said to stay with the human, but it didn't seem like there was much for her to do. She sat down on the edge of the bed smiling at penny.
"You should relax. You're safe here. Nothing is going to hurt you here."
She reached over to brush some hair out of his face.

Tristan took a step forward slowly. His hands were shaking.
"Is it going to go inside me? Like it went inside that seraphim guy? I don't want it going inside me."
He stood there panicky.

 

Penny shut his mouth, staring wide-eyed at Tori and moved his gaze to the short silver haired girl. Unconsciously, he leaned into Schuyler's touch. "I...I'm sorry... Kinda... a lot to process in one day. I mean...one second we were going to check out what I thought was an abandoned school...and then we're attacked...and meeting angels...and demons...and...ow!" He jumped slightly as Sanya took a bit of his blood in a syringe. [COLOR="dimgray]"Oh...right, uh, that'll hurt."[/COLOR] Penny rubbed his arm, [COLOR="darkorange"]"So...angels..go to school too, huh? Weird, I thought they were all taught everything in Heaven and such."[/COLOR] Sanya laughed, "That's ridiculous. Being taught about the world...Hell and Heaven, the Hierarchy, the History, the monsters, the other angels, the Tree, the Book, and etc is too much to take in when we're first hatched from the Tree of Life...or in some cases, specially born from our parents who chose to live here on earth. I was hatched. As a cherub things are brighter...kinder and Heaven is absolutely...wonderful...but it's a bit too quiet but your world isn't much better. There's fueds and disputes and even the occasional fight....especially from the Winter Court and Summer... That reminds me...I saw Amittai wandering around like a lost puppy a while ago." Penny swallowed just from the memory of Amittai, the tanned man with six wings and a smile that could charm a snake. "Amittai...Tori...Schuyler...and...Ms. Logos?" he repeated their names slowly and Sanya grinned. "If you go at this pace, you'll know everybody. It's nice having new kids and all...but a human...should really be taken down to converse with the Book or meet with a messenger."

Regi chuckled, "The only way you can hear the Lord's words. Don't worry, it don't hurt none. Feels kinda like...you swallowed a lot of air." Usagi waved the rose again and the bud shifted into a mist, slapping into Tristan's chest and surging into him. A few seconds later a voice like no other echoed in all parts of his mind. Filling it with colors, scents, shapes, tastes and sounds. Child of earthbound creatures...welcome to the Acadamy of Angels where my dear children will guide you on a journey only you and three others may take. This road is dangerous and I'm deeply sorry you must traverse it. You are the ones that will end Demise. I give you my blessings.

 

Schuyler continued to smile at penny and stroke his hair.
"It's okay. It's a lot to process. I was born an angel her on earth. No hatching here."
She looked over at Tori.
"Didn't you say ammittai was probably looking for him?"

Tori nodded and looked over to sanya who was holding a vial of blood.
"Yeah, professor where did you see him at? I'll go fetch him."
She glanced down at the human, who appeared to have finally calmed down.

Tristan's eyes were wide as his jaw dropped. He had never felt anything like that before and the fact that he was hearing the lord's voice was astonishing.
"Th-th-thank you? I guess."
He stood there frozen and a little embarrassed about his reaction. This entire day was more than he ever expected.

 

Regi laughed, "Oh wow...I wish I coulda heard what he said. Seems like whatever it was, it embarrassed you. You gotta be tired...I'd say I'd show you to a room...but somebody has to look after Lulu here." Lulu snarled and he pressed her face further into the floor.

Sanya frowned, "Hm? Oh...well...before he was in the dining hall...then the training room...then the potions room which is on the other side of the school...and then he was looking in Gabriel's room...the guy warps...a lot."

Penny felt like he was being treated like some sort of new pet, "I suppose that's an angel thing..." "More like a Seraphim thing. High Court angels are suspicious."

"Is that so, Miss Logos?" Yves smiled brightly and Sanya shrugged, turning away from him. "Evening Mr. Grimm...it seems like you wandered off without me around to guide you. However did you manage to find anyone?" Penny felt like the Seraph believe he was incompetent. Patting Tori's head, Yves pulled her closer to him and lifted her wrist with the ribbon. "You see, Mr. Grimm...each Court presents it's members with a symbol of their Court. I believe...there is a gift for the humans...but my memory is fleeting. I should..."talk" to Enan about it...but he's being stubborn at the moment."

 

Tristan shrugged and kicked at the floor.
"I can wait. No big deal I guess."
He yawned as he stood there. tristan leaned up against a wall.
"so what are you gonna do with her?"

Schuyler sat there quietly feeling out of place in the conversation. she wasn't sure how long they were supposed to stay there, but figured it better not to ask.

Tori stood there awkwardly as yves held her arm up.
"he's the winter court seraph right?"

 

Regi sighed, he seemed reluctant to answer Tristan's question. "They'll interrogate her first...I won't be there since a demon will call out to those of it's kind for help...it's just too painful to watch. Then...after they get what they want, they'll kill her, burn the body and trap the ashes in a bottle of holy water with an olive leaf and wait until they can return her to Hell."

Yves nodded, "Yes, he's not a very sociable person, but he has a kind heart..underneath all that ice." Kiel knocked on the door, staring at the floor as he entered, "Headmaster Uriel has asked that Tori and Schuyler return to class...sir." Kiel's face was half dark red with a long, thin cut across his cheek and even a footprint half embedded in his forehead. Around his neck were deep red lines and he swallowed with great difficulty. Yves gave him a side look, "Alright. They're not needed here anymore. Thank you Zadkiel." He reached over towards Kiel and watched him flinch in response, "I take it you said something very wrong in front of Uriel... She did this to you, didn't she?" Avoiding his gaze, Kiel turned around, "I shouldn't have called the hu...Mr. Grimm, an usurper of our Father's attention. In my eyes I thought we didn't...I thought..." Sighing, Kiel pushed open the door and left.

 

Tristan was oddly intrigued. He knew he should be mortified, but just wasn't getting that feeling.
"I kinda get the holy water thing, but what's the deal with the olive leaf?"
He released another yawn as he leaned against the wall.

Tori was horrified by the look of kiel. It looked extremely painful and she didn't understand how teachers could do something like that for punishment. She excused herself and ran out the doors. Tori had to call out to kiel in order of having a chance of catching up.
"kiel! Kiel wait!"
When she came up alongside him she stood there awkwardly.
"that...um...that looks really painful. Does it hurt, a lot?"
She kicked at the ground and figetted with the cuffs of her shirt.
"I'm sorry for running away this morning, and being all distant and stuff."

Schuyler sighed as she stood up.
"woo, more kiel and tori drama."
She meant it as sarcastically as possible and then felt awkward for opening her mouth in front of the high court seraphim and her teacher.
"I'm...I'm just gonna go now."
Schuyler turned to walk away, but then glanced back over her shoulder for a moment.
"it was nice to meet you mr. grimm."
As she walked away, schuyler had no clue he would be the human she was assigned to protect in a days time.

 

Regi flinched a bit as one by one his feathers grew back slowly. "The Olive branch is a representation of peace and possesses a demon-exorsizing ability. The leaves are put in with the demon ashes to quell the demon's natural urge to cause chaos and terror so it will dissolve and return to Hell easier. Back in the older days, we used to just shove them in their mouths... Probably pissed them off real good..."

Kiel stopped halfway down the hall and stared at the hollow of Tori's throat. "I should apologize to you too... Humans aren't...that bad...but...I just don't really like that Grimm guy. He surprised me, is all..." Reaching up to touch his face, Kiel gently prodded his cut rather than the redder parts, "Oh...it doesn't hurt...well maybe a little...alright yeah, a lot. After everybody left...the Headmaster said she'd punish me like angels used to punish humans... I kinda feel bad for them now. All this...hurts." Kiel tried a smile, his face rebelling against it, "It's alright. I know how I acted before...but Tori...I really do like you. I just don't really know how to show it."

Yves chuckled and Sanya uncomfortably fiddled with her arm. She didn't like the High Court Seraph simply because her court was it's polar opposite. Penny waved after Schuyler, grinning. "Well she's nice." Awkwardly registering the uncomfortable silence between Seraph and teacher, Penny fell slient and laid back on the bed. "This is going to be one long day."

 

Tori's face quickly grew a shade of pink. She wasn't good with emotional things. Her family wasn't the kind to share how they felt.
"I...I'm sorry...I'm not good with this kind of stuff. I've spent the last year and a half surviving on my own. My parents were hardcore dark angels, truly viscous monsters and when they killed each other I escaped. I never had much interaction with others, so if I seem distant and abrasive it's because I don't know how to react. That's pretty much why I'm doing everything lord Yves asks of me. With my background I thought the only court I could have a possibility to get into was the dark court, but my parents were so evil I didn't even think they would want me. But Yves saved me. When I showed up at the school two days ago I looked worse than you do now. Ammittai found me first, followed by the headmaster and healed me. He took me in even though I'm sure he knows who I am. And for that I'm thankful. You should quit fighting him and let him help you."
She reached out and gently rubbed her thumb across the slash on Kiel's face. It was clearly deep just from the sight of it. Tori cringed as she touched it, imagining how painful it must be.
"Ya' know, I...I like y--"

"Guys lets go! We don't want to make the headmaster mad."
Schuyler laughed a little at that comment as she walked in between Tori and Kiel, interrupting whatever they were talking about. She smiled happily as they walked down the hall together.

"Do you ever stop smiling?"
Tori rolled her eyes, she was trying to be honest with herself and Kiel which was rather hard for her and Schuyler just ruined it.

"Nope, not usually. Not unless something really bad happens."
For a moment Schuyler thought about what happened in weapons class.
"Ya' know Kiel, you might not have deserved something that severe, but you did deserve a punishment. Humans are wonderful. I can't wait until we meet the others. I wonder who I'm protecting?"

Tristan leaned up against the wall awkwardly. If the woman hadn't tried to kill them he would have felt bad for her. To be honest, he already felt bad for her.
"Yeah...uh...probably. I wouldn't want leaves shoved in my mouth, especially if it meant sending me to hell."

 

Kiel chuckled, though his mind ravaged what the end of Tori's sentence was. "It's not like something bad couldn't still happen, y'know." He thought back to the frightened expression on Penny's face, "That guy...the human. He fainted, didn't he? You really want to meet more of them that will faint when they meet you? Sure, they're interesting, but really...when I can find one that stands up to you and not faint...then I'll be impressed." Kiel thought over what Tori said, she'd told him parts of her past..even how she met Yves...wasn't that something girls kept to themselves? Thinking on it...Yves and "you" started with the same sound...would she have told him that she liked Yves? The Seraph? Kiel would be competing....against a Seraph? Worry made him reach up and touch the red half of his face. Uriel had really laid into him....her slaps felt like ice pelting his skin. every chance she got, she slapped him.

Regi smiled, his crimson eyes settling back into the bright green they normally were, "I doubt you'd want to go to Hell in the first place. A place of un-ending torture...pain and fire...it's maddening just remembering it." Of course Regi spoke from experience. Clawing his way out the door with every ounce of energy he had, Regi broke free of the higher class demon's control and Kyrios kept him protected. "Oh but you miss it. You miss the smell, the feeling...the thrill don't you Reginald? You loved it just as much as I did. And now working for an angel...it's sickening, isn't it? We used to make their lives hard for them...and humans...they were our playthings! Don't you remember? Why won't you remember!!!" Regi lifted Lulu's head up and growled at her, "I hated it there. Torturing those that didn't deserve it...bringing pain and misery...it was a nightmare." She smiled, ferally, "Why right now you sound like you loved it." Ignoring her, Regi dug his knee into her back. "He'll come for me...Kadaj...or he'll send Nero. They'll come and free me from this prison. And then..we'll make your little angel friends suffer. Starting with Zadkiel Uru...and then Schuyler...and then Tori and then the rest will fall to our knees! Including your precious Seraphim."

 

Tori looked between the other two thinking about the other human she met.
"that other didn't faint. Oh what was his name..."
She tried to think of what his name was.
"tristan I think. Either way he didn't faint once. He endured it all, while that grimm kid was passed out when we found him. They saw a lot today. More than anyone should have to."
Tori shrugged as they came closer to the classroom.
"doesn't really matter to me either way."

schuyler started skipping the rest of the way to the classroom. Once she was a ways ahead of them she stopped and turned around facing tori and kiel.
"come on slow pokes. I don't want to face lady uriel's wrath."

Tristan jumped, no longer feeling tired. He wanted to do something to make her stop talking, but didn't know what.
"how many more are out there to destroy the earth? Isn't there something you can do to stop them?"
He looked at regi frantically. The woman was becoming crazed and he was starting to get scared.

 

Kiel lifted one corner of his mouth and moved to catch Tori's eye. "Then I'll be impressed when I meet this Tristan. Maybe that Grimm kid was in shock? Hey, Schuyler, you spent a bit of time with that Grimm kid, right? Does he seem like an alright kid? I don't think I'd be comfortable knowing a classmate has to protect him if he's some psychopath."

Regi shook his head, dropping Lulu's porciline face back onto the floor, "There is one more Dark Hunter and Kadaj...and his army of monsters. There isn't anything we can do...but there's something you can do, Mr. Perry. If you survive til the day after Halloween, mankind and your world as you know it will survive too." Regi frowned at Lulu's back and fell silent.

"Why thank you for watching the Bloody Blossom. I'm quite grateful to your strength, Regi. Mr. Perry...please, all your questions will be answered tomorrow. Now...if you can, would you escort the demon with me down to the basement? Mr. Perry, this is a Summer Girl, Kallai has loned her to me for the moment to bring you to your room and make you comfortable. She's by all means human." Yves smiled at Tristan as a tanned girl wearing a short skirt and a tank top wrapped herself around Tristan's arm. "They're friendly creatures...so do mind your manners. If anything were to happen to her, Kallai would have my wings." The Summer Girl smiled up at him, being about a foot shorter than him. Her eyes were a bottomless blue and her pupils were diallated. Yves and Regi, practically carrying Lulu marched up to Uriel's chair and flicked a switch behind it, creating an opening behind her chair down to the basement.

 

Schuyler shrugged as she stood I front of the door facing the others.
"Yeah I guess. I don't know. Tori spent the most time with him, she did find him after all. I only spoke to him briefly when we were in the infirmary, it's not like it got deep or anything. He's cute, does it matter after that point? Plus he's a human! What danger could he bring us, really? "
She raised her hands up questioningly.

Tori stood next to Kiel uncomfortably kicking at the floor. She knew they needed to get back to class, but she didn't really want to step through the doors.
"Yeah he seems fine, just shaken up. The other one seems really eager to learn more. He's handling things well on the outside, but I wouldn't want to be in his head right now. We should probably go back outside before we all look like Kiel."
She poked Kiel in the side as she hurried over to Schuyler and the doors to the training ground.

Tristan had to try really hard to control his heart beat. There was a gorgeous girl wrapped around his arm and was about to show him to his room.
Well...I guess we should get going then..."
He was usually very smooth when it came to talking with girls, but this whole day had just threw him through a loop. Being smooth was no longer an option. He used to be the intimidating one and now he was thoroughly intimidated.

 

Kiel grumbled a bit as he followed the girls, "What does cute have to do with how he acts?" Slipping out the doors before the could close, he lowered his head as Uriel had continued instructing the other students on how to hold a sword and such. Kiel picked up a blackened sword and spotted Gabriel among the students. "Isn't that...Professor Gabriel? I suppose...language teachers also know how to handle weapons?"

The girl nodded and tugged him towards the doors leading out of the dining hall. She wore a short skirt and a tank top, showing off whatever tanned skin she could. "Let's dance! When we get to your room can we dance?"

Kadaj watched though a tiny speck of water that reflected the inside of the school. He made a note in a black book held in his hands, Summer Girls: humans bonded to a Summer Court angel. their energy is limitless and they adore dancing and shiny objects. Not particularly smart.... Frowning, Kadaj felt along his side until he touched the High Court brand mark located on his third rib. "For those so willing...thus is the grace of the Courts."

 

Schuyler smiled as she skipped out onto the field.
"Cute has to do with everything. Oh professor, we're ba~ck!"
She stopped in front of Uriel excitedly.
"What would you like us to do professor?"
She stood with her hands behind her back and rocking on her tip-toes eagerly.

Tristan couldn't help but steal glances at the girl. She definitely caught his attention.
"Ah, um...sure...I guess. I like dancing."
He glanced over at her again as they walked.
"So, do you have a name? Mine's Tristan by the way."

 

Uriel gave her a wearied look, "Today we're getting a feel for broadswords." she handed off a few swords to the students.

The girl shrugged her dainty shoulders, "I...don't remember. My bonded angel calls me Jean." She pulled open a door and shuffled him inside, flipping on the lights to a base room with blue walls and a crisp, clean white bed.
