Angelic Divinity

Schuyler's grin grew double in size.
"Don't worry. I'll ask her to join me in a girl's night tonight."
She had to walk quicker to keep up with Kiel.
"You gotta quit staring though. You're gonna come off needy and a little creepy."
Schuyler shrugged and ran over to Tori, surprising her.
"You know you scare easily. Hey, we should hang out tonight. It looks like you could use a friend. You've seemed pretty out of it all day."
She gave Tori a friendly yet concerned smile.

Tori had jumped when Schuyler came over to her. She hadn't been paying attention in the least bit.
"Y-yeah...sure. I guess. I have a lot going on and...and nobody to really talk to it about."
she looked over her shoulder and caught Kiel staring.

"He likes you, ya' know."
Schuyler gave Tori a nudge with her elbow into Tori's side. Before Tori could say anything else Schuyler ran back to Kiel's side.

Tristan raised an eyebrow.
"Are we supposed to tell them before they get here or keep it a surprise?"
He fumbled with the aggrevating task of trying to get his casts off. Tristan wanted nothing more than to be free of his plaster prison.

 

Kiel sighed, brushing back his hair and gave Schuyler a smile, "I suppose you're right. Hmm, this has never happened before... At my old school, girls flocked around me...it was kinda annoying. Ah well...I suppose I should get used to being ignored by her. After what I said to her before, I didn't think she'd ever like me. There are other girls in this school..." he slid his eyes over to Schuyler, "But...none that are really as cute as Tori." Laughing, Kiel settled an arm around Schuyler's shoulders. "Is there anything I can do for you to repay you?"

"It would be benefitial if you kept it a secret that we're angels...after all, not many people are willing to believe that angels really exist..and go to school. We'll send a guide to meet you halfway so you're not attacked again like this time." Yves kept his smile in place as he spoke.

Regi slumped on the ground and pulled out his knife. "Would you like me to help with that?" Before Tristan could respond, he cut a line down the casts. "I apologize for not being able to protect you very well... I didn't anticipate the arrival of a Sangvile...difficult little things they are."

 

Schuyler smiled happily as Kiel put an arm over her shoulder.
"No don't worry about it. If I think of something I'll let you know. For now just relax. She seems like the type of person to move past things quickly. I'm sure she's already forgotten about whatever happened this morning."
her wing rubbed up against Kiel's back. She glanced over her shoulder at his back.
"Did it hurt? When your wings suddenly appeared? I remember when I got my wings. I imagine it being on the same line of teething. Mine grew slowly. Poking out as nubs at first and then finally becoming feathery. Getting bigger as I grew older."

Tori rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on.
"I wonder what we'll be doing."

Tristan watched as regi cut his casts and then peeled them off of his arm and leg. The air felt nice on his limbs, being able to finally breathe.
"Thank you. No need to apologize. You didn't see it coming."
He turned facing Yves.
"So we are supposed to somehow get this giselle and Allen to come with us to the forest, not tell them why, let them meet whoever you send to greet us halfway, bring them to you unharmed, and let you explain everything that you already told us? Is that all? We should probably get going then, right?"

 

Kiel unconsiously reached behind him, "I guess you could say it hurt...but all I felt was whatever that stupid Seraph shot at me. How dumb...telling me to protect my classmates with a sword when he was using magic... Most of all...forcing my wings to pull out. I'll never forget that feeling...someone reaching into me...and tearing something out of my skin..."

Yves nodded and yet placed a hand on each of their shoulders, "Please...you've done enough for today. You must be tired. Come inside...take a look around and have dinner with us. We'd be very happy to have you."

Penny bent down and helped Regi stand, "What about this guy? Is he gonna be okay?" Yves's golden eyes avoided staying on Regi for too long, "With a Circle Heal, he'll be alright." Regi smiled, green eyes glittering, "Until then...I'll be staying in the infermary, unless Lord Kyrios tells me I have to return to the penthouse..."

 

Schuyler shuddered.
"I can't even begin to imagine what that would feel like."
she grabbed her right wing and caressed it.

Tristan felt like an a.d.d child. He couldn't focus on any one thing in particular.
"Penthouse? We can stay? And see everything? Won't it draw attention if we come to dinner?"
He was excited to see the inside of the castle, but didn't want to cause problems. Tristan was surprised how well he was taking everything compared to penny, especially since penny was the one that actually believed in angels and stuff.

 

"Beats me." Shane replied as he contiuned to walk beside Tori.

"Nah, I just decided to sit with you today." Allen replied.

 

Kiel hugged Schuyler a bit, "You're easy to talk to. Though...I wish I could've actually seen my wings...I wonder what they look like...what it feels like to fly through the sky in the night."

Yves opened his mouth when Regi wobbled his way past the Seraph, opened his black wings and pulled a long black whip from his belt under his jacket, "I suggest you all get inside. Ah... Lord Amittai!" Yves grabbed Penny's arm and held it out so that his wrist was facing the sky, "Mr. Grimm, please do accept my deepest apologies. Mr. Perry, if you would kindly cover your friend's mouth." Penny struggled, but the Seraph was much stronger than humans. Regi gave him a sorrowful expression and sank razor sharp teeth into Penny's arm, gulping down his blood. Penny screamed as loud as his lungs would provide him air and as long as it would last.

From the treeline, Lulu, the black haired, curvacious woman with those deadly knives chuckled, "Not exactly the sort of behavior I expected from a former demon turned warrior angel. My sweet Reginald." Her green eyes turned to a scarlet color as she stepped out of the shadow of the trees and into the fading sunlight.

Uriel stopped her class in the backyard training field, normally used for flying lessons. Today it was littered with various weapons and fencing dummies. "Take a weapon and pair up!"

 

Look at all these weapons. Sora thought as he looked at all the equipment around them. Maybe he could get away with using his own weapon for this, then again he still hasn't completely master it so he probably shouldn't. Instead he just picked up abroadsword from the ground and held it in his hand.

Guess I'll use this. Shane thought as he picked up a katana from the ground. He didn't feel like turning left arm into weapon this time. Mainly because not that many people knew he could do that.

 

"It feels incredible. Maybe they will come back soon. Oh looks like we're here."
Schuyler came to a stop and picked up a couple of daggers.
"Partners?"
She looked at Kiel curiously.

Tori picked up a medium weight blade in her hands. It was something light enough for her to hold in one hand but long enough to be an offensive weapon. She wasn't really a fighter so figured class would be pretty brutal.
"Shane do you wanna be my partner? "

Tristan covered penny's mouth confused and then his jaw dropped in terror.
"What-what is he doing?"
His heart was racing and he was going bug-eyed. Tristan wasn't sure what to do other than freak out.

 

Kiel grinned, picking up a short sword. "You got it. I'm not gonna go easy on you just cause you're a girl. I'm pretty good with a weapon."

Uriel supervised everyone as they began to free fight. Occasionally she'd stop a pair and instruct them. Uriel believed that they would learn better by doing rather than watching.

Yves held Penny still even when Regi released the boy and turned to face Lulu. "Most of the Dark Court is made up of demons turned angel. Regi is an example of that. Lulu the Bloody Blossom is a demon...a Dark Hunter. Demons fight one another on a single level...it's all for demonic pride. Foolish beings if you ask me...but as a demon, Regi needs human blood to access the power Kyrios sealed within him. As Dark Court angel, Regi feeds on human emotions. It's quite a problem for him. His hunger for blood and his hunger for emotions...they vie for dominance in his mind... One day...he will be lost to his hungers and become apart of the Demon's Cult run by Banananch in New York. Now...I think we should take Mr. Grimm into the school, shall we, Mr. Perry?"

Regi snarled at Lulu and she chuckled delicately. His wings folded back, pinned to his back tightly, and he launched himself at Lulu in a blur of black clothes. He was free...finally free...for a short time and he would tear Lulu to pieces. Lulu moved with more grace and speed, side-stepping Regi and catching him in the side with a sideways kick of stilletto heels. "Oh, did I hurt you, baby? How terrible...here, let me kiss it." A feral growl ripped from her lips as she grabbed hold of Regi's feathers and tore them out of his wings.

Schuyler smiled slyly as she lunged at Kiel's abdomin.
"I'm not so bad either. I have an older brother, so I've learned to be quick."
Schuyler froze, not realizing that she accidentally spoke of her brother. She still hadn't seen him anywhere and was terrified. Schuyler has always been able to hide things well, but now started panicking. She dropped the blade she had against Kiel's side and collapsed onto her knees.

Tristan nodded frantically as he backed into the seraphim.
"Will he be okay by himself?"
He didn't really want to stick around to see what that Lulu had to offer, but felt bad leaving the guy who worked so hard to keep them alive.

Kaila paced around her classroom as the students took notes. She showed them how to properly pull the magic from within them and explained that mass amounts of energy could be very dangerous. The entire time she taught, the bracelet remained clenched in her left hand.

Giselle shrugged and picked at a ravioli with her fork.
"All right. I guess."
She didn't know how to react around other people. Giselle wasn't used to much human interaction.

 

Sora picked a random (and nameless) student to be his partner and started to spar with him.

"Sure." Shane replied as he got into a fighting stance. "No going easy on me alright."

"So, is there any reason that you decided to sit alone?" Allen asked, taking a bite out of his rice.

 

Tori made an uppercut slash across Shane's chest.
"I spent the last year and a half living on my own. I know how to handle a weapon. I fought to survive the entire way to school."
She swiped at his side holding the sword with two hands.

Giselle looked up at Allen like he was stupid, which for all she knew he might have been?
"Are you serious? You think I choose to sit alone? You kind of need friends in order to have someone to sit with you. The only Tim anyone talks to me is they want answers foe assignments. Nobody wants to be friends with the nerd that lives in the woods. Yeah, I hear what people say about me."
She angrily stabbed at the ravioli.

 

Kiel dropped his weapon and knelt beside Schuyler, "Hey, are you okay? Uh...you don't have to be afraid of mentioning family to me... It's alright to talk to me, s'not like I'm gonna go and blab to the whole school."

Yves shook his head, ushering the humans back toward the school entrance, "Regi will be alright. He is, after all, a demon like her. Demons will wound each other, but they will never kill each other."

Regi shoved Lulu off him and reached out, flicking his wrist and snapping the whip on Lulu's face. She recoiled and lunged again at him only to be knocked backwards by a well placed foot to her emphasized chest.

Kadaj smirked, fluttering out of the trees, spear in hand, and stabbed into the ground, just barely missing Regi as he rolled away. Yves spread all six of his wings and the ground trembled, "Kadaj! Cease this now!" He grinned, "Not on your life." Yves lifted his arm, a mass amount of bangles jingled on his wrist, "Bend, space and time. Lock out what foul creature the fallen angel, Kadaj Josiah has become!" Kadaj pressed his hands against the now visible barrier around the school, staring at the writhing Lulu within the barrier. "Release Lulu! Give her back! Return my Dark Hunter! YVES!" Yves kept a cold expression, grabbing Lulu by her hair and dragging her with Regi following at his heels toward the school.

 

Schuyler's attitude snapped back in almost an instant. She hated showing weakness. She quickly picked up her blade and held it to Kiel's throat.
"Don't worry about me. It's nothing."
She looked up at him and her knife.
"Looks like I win."
a cocky smile spread across her face, masking the pain she was feeling.

Tristan had put his hands in his pocket and walked towards the entrance slouching. He immediately stopped and turned around when kadaj came screaming. His eyes were wide as he walked backwards towards the building, not taking his eyes off the newest arrival.

 

Yves turned Tristan around and shoved him into the school. Dragging Lulu with him. Releasing the woman to Regi, he watched the Dark warrior slam her face into the school floor of the dining hall. Yves sat Tristan down in a chair, "Stay here. Regi will keep Lulu in check. Mr. Grimm...? Mr. Grimm?! Grimm!"

Penny had bolted around the school, towards the voices. Perhaps somebody else was here, pulling some sort of prank on him. Several names came to mind as to who would do this. "Hey! I know you're there! Get out here, I'm through playing your game! You...you...." he skidded to a halt as he found the backyard filled with angels of all sizes and genders all holding weapons.

Kiel returned Schuyler's smile and looked up at Penny, his smile fading. "Human..." He wrenched the blade away from Schuyler's hand and stood, twirling it in his hand. "Who are you? How did you get here? Hey, buddy...you alright?" Penny blanched as the boy stood with a blade in his hands. "I...I..." This is it...this is how I'm going to die... So much for my aunt being on my case about school and money... I'm so screwed... he thought in a panic.

Uriel watched Penny cautiously before she moved forward. "Young man....are you ill? Ah!" Uriel lurched forward as Penny toppled over. "Someone fetch the nurse!" She cradled Penny's head in her lap and laid a hand on his forehead. He's burning up...but why?

 

Tristan nodded and then noticed penny was gone. He quickly looked around but didn't see him anywhere.
"Where did he go?"

Schuyler was caught off guard as Kiel ripped the dagger out of her hand.
"Hey, what are you....oh! Hey, who's that?"
She looked up at Kiel confused, hoping he'd have some sort of answers.

Tori dropped her sword to see the boy that appeared. He was clearly human and she froze up. Tori didn't do well with humans and it happened to be the one from Uriel.
"Sorry Shane I've got to take care of this."
She ran over to penny and put a hand on his shoulder as she bent down.
"Lady Uriel this is one of those humans we're supposed to protect. He probably ran off from lord Yves. He wasn't handling the news too well."

 

Uriel shook her head, "This is ridiculous. They got in here, huh? Alright then... Schuyler, Kiel, will you two take this boy to the infirmary? Forget the nurse, I think he just needs to rest."

Kiel stood still like a stone statue, "There's no way I'm touching a human. Especially one that Kadaj is after." Uriel and several students stiffened. "Zadkiel Uru, that has nothing to do with your responsibilites as an angel. It is our job to protect mankind."

Yves faded out, leaving Tristan and Regi alone with Lulu. Regi kept snarling at Lulu even as he held her face pressed against the marble flooring. "Pathetic creature... You don't deserve to have life!" Lulu laughed and struggled against his strength, "Why don't you try saying that when a lady is standing on her own feet?! Worthless demons working for angels are the lowest of low!" "Speak for yourself!" Regi snapped back.

 

Schuyler glowered at Kiel as she went to lift penny up by the shoulders.
"What's your problem? We're supposed to be helping those humans anyway. Plus it's not like you look any different from him."
She had become very angry because of Kiel. Schuyler loved humans, she loved everything about them. She even envied them at times.

Tristan just stood there behind regi staring at the demon on the floor. He was pretty speechless from all that had happened.
"Wh-what's...what's gonna happen now?"
He took a step back so that he would be farther away from Lulu.

Tori stood and faced the teacher.
"Do you want me to go find lord Yves? I'm sure he's wondering where Mr. Grimm ran off to."

 

Kiel growled, "Perhaps I'm the only one that's tired of these stupid humans usurping all the attention away from us angels." He glared at Schuyler, "Don't you dare liken me to the likes of THAT." he jerked his head at Penny and Uriel stood, quickly moving, and slapped Kiel without a word but he could tell she wanted him to stop talking. Holding his now burning cheek, Kiel glowered silently at Penny, "What's so special about him anyways? I'm not like him...I have wings...I'm an angel...he's not..."

Regi kept his eyes away from Tristan, as they were still glowing a deep crimson, "Lord Amittai and Headmaster Uriel will decide her fate. For consorting with Kadaj I hope she is put to death rather than isolation or exile. Going back to Hell isn't death...but it's a pain to get out again." Regi smoothed back his hair and finally let his crimson eyes settle on Tristan, "You know...the young miss you met today... She's a student here. She doesn't like humans very much. Be careful who you meet in t his school. Not all are as friendly as Lord Amittai. I'm grateful to your friend though. Twice, he's allowed me to drink his blood and I think it's growing on me. He's not bad...for a human. But...without angelic blood, my feathers won't grow back. It's a shame...using the Summer Court angels for this... Summer Girls...Dark Girls...they're all human...just...in love with the angels that lure them to their nests. If you talk to Ren about the Courts, he'll tell you, I'm sure. That should be your goal here. To learn what you can about the Courts and about Kadaj. The guy probably stalking you and making your life a nightmare. We've done our best to protect you...obviously it wasn't enough."
