"Yeah well, he certainly wasn't be normalest person I've ever seen. Allen replied. Hopefully this would help him get Genisis out of his head.

 

Regi didn't understand her color change. He sniffed at her curiously and tasted her emotions. Gritting his teeth, turning his head away and grabbing up Penny's legs, he suppressed the urge to growl at the boy he was already carrying. Instead he widened his wings, "Would you mind being silent? You're too noisy." Regi regarded Tori carefully and sighed, "I'm going to assume...you don't fly well yet. Well...let's not waste time standing around here." Smiling, Regi circled around Tori, still holding Penny's legs and started off, backwards towards the school, forcing Tori to walk or drop Penny.

Sanya started writing things up on the board and commanded the students to take notes while the book on her desk kept yammering on. Yves stared at it in disbelief. It can't be that easy...can it? Could I have found the Book already? he thought. Remembering when he'd left Kaila, it had only taken him a moment to get to the basement and see that the Book was missing. Sanya was keeping it?

 

Schuyler quickly took notes while the strange book spoke. She looked up briefly and noticed Tori wasn't there. It seemed strange since she attended every other lesson so far. Schuyler leaned over to Kiel and whispered to him.
"Where's Tori? I thought she was the first one to leave for class after magic."

Tori walked quickly as to not drop the boy. The one regi spoke to kept staring at her and she didn't know why.

Tristan crossed his arms over then angry angels shoulder. When he outstretched his wings, Tristan received a few feathers to the face and had to spit them out of his mouth. He had no idea what was about to happen and it terrified him more than those Snatcher things.

Kaila paced around her room. This was her free period. Since there were only four groups of students and like six or seven classes, so there times she had to students. She thought about using that hour to go check on the book, but there was always the possibility that Yves was still down there. She didn't want to tell him what she was going for. She would have to do it later. Kaila decided she would go visit Ren later as well. Make sure he was feeling better and possibly get some information out of him.

Giselle nodded awkwardly.
"Yeah. He sure is."
She looked at her wrist to see what time it was.
"Oh! I gotta go to math. Only got about a minute before class starts."
Giselle hurried off down the hall towards math. She sat down right before the bell.

 

Kiel sighed and dragged his fingers through his hair, "The hell if I know...the girl barely speaks to me anymore and I don't even know what I did to deserve that." He dropped his head to his desk and groaned, "Why me...." "Why you indeed Mr. Zadkiel Uru." Kiel lifted his head slightly and glowered at the Book, "You got nothin' on me, book."

Regi sighed, "Let's put them down over there... Perhaps I can return to the school and get someone else to help carry them. It'd be easier if we could fly..." Regi dropped Penny's feet without a care and thumped Tristan down against a tree and surveyed the area, "Miss...do you...know anything about these humans?"

 

Schuyler sighed. She felt bad for him. It was obvious Kiel liked Tori. She figured everyone could tell, except for maybe Tori. Or there was always Tue possibility Tori could tell which is why she was now distancing herself. Afterall, how could you like someone that would speak to you. She gave him a sad smile.
"I'm sorry."
Schuyler didn't understand what the book was getting at, bit figured it was better not to ask questions. She copied down what sanya had on the board into her notebook.

Tori set penny down gently where regi had pointed to. She looked at Tristan cautiously before speaking.
"I'm not sure."
She bit her lip as she hesitated.
"Ammitai said we would be going to town to protect some humans, but our wings would be hidden. Genesis went this morning and took pictures of a couple of them, but they weren't all in school so he didn't get the other ones. These might be them. Ammitai is at the school right now and he was protecting some last night. He would probably know who they are."
Tori stood there uncomfortably. She was afraid she might have given out far too much information to the human. She crossed her arms, nervously covering her chest.

Tristan sat on he ground, letting the paining his let subside. He listened to what Tori said very closely.
"We probably need some protection after what's been happening. Especially if that geisha chick comes back."
He was mostly mumbling to himself. Tristan had seen a lot of strange and terrifying things happen the last couple months and didn't know what to make of it.

 

Sanya yawned and slumed in her chair. Yves opened his mouth to say something when the book on her desk interrupted him, "You've used too much energy today, Ms. Logos. You shouldn't expend so much of it on little things like emotions." Sanya lowered her gaze and glanced out at her students, silently copying down notes, "I want to...because...I don't want to become just like 'them'. I'm not a marriachi doll." (probably didn't spell that right)

Regi flapped his wings in happiness, "That's right...the High Court knows all about humans. You're su~per smart Miss!" He glomped onto her head and hugged her, rubbing his cheek on the top of her head like a cat. Turning to Tristan, he frowned and narrowed his green eyes, "You be nice to the lady now. And if your friend wakes up, you'd best not tell him anything about what you heard. Humans are so fickle...they frighten easy." He turned to leave for a moment and stopped, cautiously turning back to Tristan with a look of intense seriousness, "Geisha chick? You saw a geisha-like woman? When...where... More importantly, did she touch you...say anything?"

Kiel grumbled in his seat, sulking. He wished they had cell phones....he would've given anything to call Tori at the moment and see if she was alright. But....was it too pushy? Human girls liked getting calls from him...Tori might not.

 

Tori was startled by the sudden awkward embrace. She didn't know how to respond to it, but didn't have the opportunity to say anything other than thank you. She was more surprised by the sudden mood change in the man.

Tristan's eyes went wide. This angel guy knew about the woman from earlier.
"This morning. She just showed up on my porch looking for penny. "
He pointed to the unconscious person lying on the ground.
"She called him by his full name which is really long and complicated. It all seemed really suspicious and then he stepped inside the house locking the door. She screamed and then left. She might have grabbed penny's shoulder. I'm not sure."
He ran his free hand through his hair.
"Who is she? That Asian woman?"

 

Sora just sat there in class as he listened to what Sanya was saying.

Allen barely made it to History before the bell rang. Made it. He thought as he quickly took his seat.

 

Regi tilted his head and started stripping off Penny's shirt. Penny had muscles, that's for sure, it could have been the recent fear of being attacked that he'd started lifting weights, or he'd been doing it all his life. Regi ignored all else and pulled his shirt down to his shoulders. "Hmm...I don't see anything..." he sniffed at the boy, "Nope...nothing. Pheeeew...I thought I was gonna have to do something weird..." Rocking back onto his heels, Regi prodded Tristan and poked around at his injured limbs, "That 'Asian woman' as you call her is called Lulu the Bloody Blossom. She's a Dark Hunter...a very dangerous woman. She paints her nails black with rattlesnake venom. She has a scar beneath her left eye...but it's never marred her beauty." His face solom, Regi rested his hand on Tristan's arm, lost in thought, "She used to be...a friend of the Dark Court....or rather...a frequent visitor." Turning his attention back to Penny, Regi bent over him, trying to decide what to do. Dark Court servants and warriors were known for vampirism, but he didn't want to frighten the human or the young female angel. "You said his name is Penny... I suppose...I could place a call in to Lord Kyrios and tell him that you're here..."

Sanya nodded off in her chair and the book kept spouting things for Yves to write on the board. After a while it stopped and flipped a few pages of it's own accord, "Young angel...your name is Sora, correct? Come up here...place your hand on my pages...I know very little of the newer families arriving at this school and I intend to mark you in my heirarchy."

Ren sulked in his room. He felt terrible. Scraps paced at his feet, whimpering. Opening the curtains in his room, he let the sunshine shine on a black and white photo in a cracked frame. The man and woman in the photo didn't look anything like they would now. Ren knew it...because he was the man in the photo. Without his wings shimmering behind him in the camera's flash...his golden eyes were brown back then...and his dark raven black-blue hair used to be brown.

 

Schuyler dropped her mechanical pencil when the book called sora up to it. She didn't want to miss anything by taking notes. Schuyler found it quite strange that sanya was sleeping. Normally the ones sleeping during class were the students not the teachers. This class was definitely backwards.

Kaila decided to speak with Ren before her next class started. She knew he had a free period too, so she hurried to his room. She gave a light knock on his door.
"Ren? Are you in there?"

Tori gave a quick nod.
"I would. Especially after kadaj attacked Kiel and I yesterday. Telling the seraphim right away would be best. I can wait here with them until you return. Plus I wouldn't know where to look for lord kryios."
She sat down on the ground between the two humans.
"We should be all right here. Especially since ammitai gave me his blessing."
She held up her arm showing the light blue ribbon on her wrist.
"At least I'll be safe."

Tristan's head was starting to spin. There was so much going on that he didn't understand and the pain in his arm and leg were starting to get unbearable. Instead of talking any further he decided to lie on his back in an attempt to make the pain go away. He was pretty sure the only thing that would actually help were a couple Vicodin. As he laid there, he remembered a movie where a woman put rattlesnake venom in her nail Polish. Tristan wondered if all villainous women did that.

Giselle was in her usual spot by Jared from homeroom when she went to math. He was typically the only person to talk to her in class. Usually the only thing wanted was answers, but that didn't bother her. Giselle was used to it. Eventually you just learn to live with being a tool.

[Ooc: it took me a minute to understand what the vampiric aspect had to do with it. Then I was like: oh! Sucking out the venom. That would be awkward.]

 

Sora was surprised when Yves called him to the front of of the class, but he still made his way up there and placed his hand on the book.

 

ooc: Umm, not quite...maybe I should just make him do it to explain...

Ren yanked the curtains shut again and hurried to pull open the door. Scraps scurried under his bed and Ren realized a moment too late that his room would be really frightening to Kaila.... He held the door open, without any lights inside his room, it looked pitch black. Awkardly, the light from the hallway led into his room, unfortunately shining on a nightstand covered with bird bones being assembled into their places by themselves. Ren lowered his head in embarrassment, feeling like he should just crawl into a pit of darkness and stay there.

The Book grumbled as a single page filled with writing, "Ah...you are not an angel by birth. But one of inheritance. Pardon me...but I must go burn the page you have touched..." An electric shock jolted Sora's hand off the page and the Book slammed shut. Smoke started to rise from inside it as it roasted the page itself.

Regi cracked his knuckles and frowned again, "Lord Kyrios isn't going to like it if I just say some kids named Penny and Tristan... He'll want proof... Ah...looks like I have no choice." He bent over Penny again, his green eyes glowing, and touched his lips to Penny's neck, biting into him under the cover of a kiss. After a minute, he pulled away with a pained expression, "Penniphalicious Cloud Grimm... I should've seen this one coming..." He turned to Tristan and pulled up the corner of Tristan's shirt, "Ah...this might hurt a little bit...unless you'd care to tell me your full name and birth date." He willed him to comply as human blood didn't taste very good.

 

Kaila stepped inside of Ren's room and stared at him curiously.
"Is something the matter?"
Surprising Ren wasn't easy, but Kaila managed to do it. She had only been in his room once before and it hadn't been that dark the last time.
"I'm sorry. Were you napping?"
the obvious thought as to why it was so dark was that he had been asleep. Kaila had a feeling that wasn't actually the case. Ren was a dark mysterious and slightly disturbed man so she wasn't sure what his room would be like. It had been so long since she had last been in it. All Kaila knew for certain was that it would most likely be the opposite of her's. Her room was warm and inviting. The fireplace was enchanted so it wouldn't ever stop burning and it kept the room at a constant cozy temperature, never too hot, never too cold. It was always just right. Her room also had that wooden Smokey smell from the fire plus the scent of whatever spices and herbs she had burning. It made it so she never needed perfume. Her clothes always smelled of lilac, ginger, and vanilla. Along with a hodge podge of other aromas.

Schuyler couldn't believe what was happening.
"How is it possible to be an angel without having been born that way?"
Nothing about what was happening made sense.

Tori watched in horror. Regi had just latched onto penny's neck and was now about to do the same with Tristan.

Tristan jolted upright. No amount of pain was going to keep him from stopping this Guy before he bit him. He had done this whole vampire thing and it was wrong.
"Tristan abbadon Perry. November 22nd 1991. Please don't bite me."
He quickly shoved his shirt back down.

 

Ren closed his expression immediately and flipped on the light switch quickly. The bulb popped and shattered, making Ren growl in frustration, "Useless... Ah...no, I was just thinking. Remembering... Is there something you want, Kaila? It's not like you to come to my room like this during school hours." Ren shuffled back into the darkness of his room and yanked the curtain open, letting sunlight shine in and illuminate the contents of his room.

Yves leaned back against the board and watched the Book carefully while answering her, "An angel can choose to will their power away to a human if they are near death. It's rare for angels to choose this path...since it isn't very noble of them, but there are those that will do it and believe that their power is in good hands with that human. The fact that you have wings is more interesting. Humans who inherit angelic powers usually become like Nephilim....wingless creatures of power."

Regi sat back and rubbed his hand over his mouth, "I figured you'd tell me. Well then, Mr. Perry, I cordially welcome you to the grounds of the Acadamy of Angels. My name is Regi, I'm very pleased to meet you." He looked over to Penny, who was starting to awaken. Pulling on his lip, Regi blushed a little, "I'd greatly appreciate it if you didn't tell Mr. Grimm that I drank his blood. it wasn't a very good experience and I don't wish to do it again."

 

By the time yves had started explaining how he had inherited the powers of an angel, Sora had already gotten back to his seat. Personaly he didn't think it mattered how he got his powers.

Shane hadn't heard any of this since he fell asleep again.

 

Kaila walked over by the window and stood in the sunshine. Natural lighting always did her wonders. She turned to face Ren so that the sun was warming her back.
"I came to check on you. You seemed a little off today, so I thought you might still be reviving from last night."
She sauntered over to him and wrapped an arm across his shoulders, bringing them close together. She whispered in his ear.
"I just want to make sure you're okay."
Kaila pulled her body away from him and walked back over to the window. As she walked, she noticed a picture out of the corner of her eye. She picked up the cracked frame to see a younger version of Ren and what Kaila could only assume was the legendary yuuki.

Schuyler leaned back in her chair. She was completely shocked. To think that angels could give away their power.

Tori stood up and walked over to regi.
"Should we take them inside? "

 

Ren's golden eyes widened and he quickly snatched the picture out of Kaila's hands. "Y-you shouldn't just come in here and start touching my Yuuk--" Freezing, Ren hadn't realized he'd started to say her name. "I...I suppose I have no choice but to explain, don't I... You're going to ask who she is, aren't you?" Ren set the picture back down on the table so the sun shone on Yuukki and his old faces. "Ask your questions...I have nothing to hide from you."

Regi jumped up and nodded, "Yes...yes...that would be wise. I'll carry Mr. --" "OI, Regi! Seems ya's in 'rouble! Oh! lo siento, senorita. Regi, we gotta serious problemo." Regi turned as another man alighted on the ground beside him, bowing to Tori as he apologized. The new man had dark green hair and an odd headband. He, not like Regi, didn't have feathered wings. He folded away skeletal wings and flashed a grin at Tori, "Boss says: "Don't let those humans figure out we're creatures that shouldn't exist. Or else there'll be a few nights of pain and sun bathing." Regi cringed, "Damn... Well...they're the humans Seraph Ammittai said we should keep an eye out for. Didn't he say we should watch cause the special humans would try to find the school?"

 

Kaila studied the picture for a moment before looking up at Ren. You could barely tell they were the same person anymore. If it were the first time meeting Ren, you would never believe he was the man in the photograph.
"Yuuki is beautiful. I understand why you haven't moved on. How could you move past someone like that?"
She sighed and with a light tap of her pointer finger on the frame it was no longer broken.
"A simple mend spell can fix that no problem."
Kaila walked back over to the window, keeping her back to Ren.
"I told you already. I just came to check on you. You seemed off all morning so I wanted to see if you were all right."
From the window you could see the forest and Kaila got a vague view of a battle going on. the distance made it difficult to see, but to a trained eye it was obvious. She knew she was the only one that could prevent the monsters from coming, it was just a matter finding the book. She wasn't sure what she wanted to ask him. There were a thousand questions in her head but none seemed more important than the other. The one question that kept nagging at her, but seemed to be the most inappropriate to ask was the only one that would come out. She turned to face him. Even if Ren were to lie, his actions would speak the truth.
"I'll always be second won't I? I would never try to take her place, but if you had enough room to let one more person in; I would do my best to make you just as happy."
Kaila was trying to move past their whole situation, but things only seemed to get worse. Every time she opened her mouth she could feel Ren slowly slipping away and eventually they wouldn't even be able to be friends anymore. Her heart was always breaking.

Tori smiled at the strange newcomer.
"No problem at all."
He was definitely different from regi and not just because of his wings. It was hard to believe how diverse the dark court was. Professor Ren made it seem like everyone was dark, scary, and lifeless; but based on these two alone it was quite the opposite.
"We really should bring them to the seraphim. At least then they can probably do some mind wiping thing right? Make them forget everything that happened and drop them off at home."

Tristan was dumbfounded. He was certain that penny would feel the same way if he were awake.
"Hello!? Can here everything you're saying. Why should we forget? At least things are strangely starting to make sense. The bus that appeared like magic, people I know and care about turning up dead, the phone calls from the strange voice, and that woman from this morning. The dark hunter whatever. Don't we have a right to know why bad things are happening to us?"
He tried to stand but Tori gave him a pleading look to remain seated.

 

Ren started to laugh, not an insane kind of laugh, but a warm sort that came from his heart. A heart that hadn't laughed since Yuukki died. "Yes, Kaila...you'll be second...to a woman who's dead. A woman that I can't see anymore. Her soul is gone to Heaven and her body is buried beneath the ground as far as I could get it. Yuukki...wasn't human, Kaila. I knew she would die sooner or later." He sank down on his bed and ruffled his hair, "You've no idea how much your words mean to me, Kaila. But..." he grabbed Kaila by her shoulders and pressed her into his mattress, "That's not why you're here. Are you going to tell me the reason why you've come to me, or am I going to have to force it out of you."

Regi nodded along with Tori's words, "She has a point..." He glared suddenly down at Tristan with his bright green eyes, "Be silent! If you know what's good for you, you'd stay quiet. Special or not, you are a human, and you don't belong in our world. We exist to protect idiots like you from the Dark Hunters and that fool, Kadaj."

Penny cracked his eyes open and listened quietly before sitting up, "So...angels, huh? Pretty far out there. I don't see a real reason why we need to forget. If we're special, then shouldn't we know what we're in if we're in trouble?" Regi glowered at the boy, "Mr. Grimm...I'd advise you to hold your tongue. Gaku, go and fetch Lord Kyrios. I'll stay here with them." The other angel nodded and spread his skeletal wings, harshly soaring away towards the school.

 

Kaila was taken completely off guard. Ren was smiling and laughing. He had pulled her onto the bed being- playful? He was not the playful type. Ren never smiled or laughed. She was taken aback by the action. As wonderous as the lighthearted mood was she knew it would quickly change. She didn't want it to end it, but knew it had to happen. Kaila set her hand on top of Ren's on the bed. With a deep sigh her smile quickly faded.
"I need to know...I need to know what you know about those disappearances turned murder. Uriel believes kryios knows what's going on and wants to know what information you have on it. The other seraphim are getting antsy not knowing what's going on."
Kaila couldn't get the book off her mind. She didn't really care about the missing humans. She had to find a way to stop kadaj without helping him end the world. It was eating away at her and all she wanted was to tell somebody. Kaila just wished someone could read her.if there was just one person that could see that something was seriously wrong with her she would gladly tell them what had happened. Kaila gave Ren. A pleading looks and started biting the nails of her free hand.

Tristan tapped penny on the arm.
"Don't waste your breath dude. They don't care what we have to say."
He laid back down in the grass frustrated. Everything was just so complicated.
