Angelic Divinity

kaila collapsed on her bed. she didn't know what to do, but it was obvious she wasn't going out with sanya on duty. ren is smart but also very clueless. he doesn't anyone would love him unless pretending for personal gain, but she does. kaila's always been there, helping him and looking after him when he needed it. all she asked for in return was for him to notice she was doing it. kaila flopped back on the bed with her arms lying above her head and her legs hanging loosely off the edge of the bed. she grabbed a pillow to cover her face while she screamed in it angrily. it always felt nice to let out a good scream.

tori ran over to kiel's side holding his arm.
"it's the ribbon! yv-erm...ammittai said that the ribbon is enchanted to keep creatures of the dark from forcing their will upon us. if we weren't wearing it, like everyone else, what this man had just said would have forced you to to do exactly what he said without being able to control yourself. i know you don't like the fact that he blessed it upon you, but it obviously helped. if you weren't wearing it you'd be walking to your death right now."

schuyler stood there patiently as diane and sora introduced themselves to each other.

 

Ren fell against a wall, a student's hands all over him. He made a face, "This isn't right...Gena...you are a student and I'm a teacher. It wouldn't work out even if I was interested. Gena...I do like you, but not in that way." She started to cry and fell against him. Adopting a gentle nature, Ren stroked her hair and hugged her. "Shh...it'll be alright. There are plenty of other boys in this school for you. You have a while to choose someone. Those in Heaven are handsome, perhaps your mate awaits there for you. Don't waste your love on me, Gena." Pulling back, she whispered to him, "Ren please..." She pulled on him and stood on her tip toes to get closer to him.

Kiel shuffled Tori behind him and blocked Kadaj's weak punch, "That's nice and all, but right now I'm in the middle of a fight. Whatever Amittai does doesn't concern me at the moment." He scooted her back a little further and lifted his arm to block Kadaj again when he felt a stab of pain in his arm. Kadaj held his fist closed and poised over the pain. "Huh?" Pulling back, Kiel watched a small glittering, silver dagger covered in blood. His blood. "You...you stabbed me? Cheap move..." He lowered his head for a moment and growled, "Now you've made me mad." He launched himself at Kadaj and fell into the mud. Kadaj wrestled with him until they were both covered in mud, "Filthy Nephilim! I'll kill you!" Kiel's body shook with anger even as Kadaj ripped his shirt and sent volts of electricity through his body.

 

tori watched in horror. she couldn't believe kiel was fighting in the state he was in and trying to protect her. not to mention he said he said what yves does doesn't concern him, but it obviously does. if yves hadn't given kiel that ribbon, just like he gave to tori, then he would be walking to his death right now. she didn't understand what his dejection from the seraphim was all about, but they just protected him even if he didn't want to admit it.
tori glanced off to the side and saw a large rock on the ground. kiel and kadaj were still rolling on the ground and she didn't like the fact that he was fighting. his wounds could get infected from the dirt. she promised the nurse and the professor that she would look after him and this wasn't doing a very good job. tori ran over to the rock picking it up and then hurried over to the electrifying wrestling match. with one good swing using all her force, she bashed kadaj in the head and dropped the rock. when it was out of her hands she grabbed kiel's shoulder pulling him back.
"are you crazy?! you're going to kill yourself!"
the rain had made her very cold and the adrenaline had her heart pounding. she was panting and the words came out all breathy. it was bad enough when she alone was going to walk inside soaking wet, but now she would have to bring kiel in like that too.

kaila laid in her bed angry and upset. she found ren very obtuse, which at times made her question why she cared for him so greatly. enan's offer seemed more and more tempting, but she still stood her ground on not ever being a part of the courts. there was too much pent up hatred for everything the seraph were. they only ever seemed to bring trouble, never tranquility. it was just that he was the only seraphim to ever get under her skin. to really dig deep and leave a positive impression, but light angels don't join the winter court. that was another reason she questioned why she liked ren. they were polar opposites. he is a dark angel and she a light. those two together don't typically make good matches. it only causes problems to everyone involved with the two. she let out another scream into the pillow. it was helping, even if just barely.

 

"So, any clue on where we are?" Sora asked. He knew it was a stupid question to asked, but he had to find someway of figuring out how'd they get lost.

 

schuyler shrugged. she wasn't paying attention while she walked. one minute she was in the dining hall and the next she was in some random hallway, no clue as to where it was located in the academy.

 

Ren forced her away and moved away from the wall, heading down the hallway with the girl trailing after him. "Angels don't betray those they commit to. I'm involved with someone, Gena. I won't betray her." Even though he was lying, his thoughts trailed to Kaila oddly enough. Ren and Gena came across Schuyler, Diane and Sora in the hall. His yelllow eyes narrowed, forgetting about the love struck student behind him. "What're you three doing out here? This hallway leads to the Professor's rooms." He came to a stop in front of them. Gena peaked out from behind him, her eyes still roaming around Ren's bare chest. "Names." he demanded.

Kiel struggled up as Kadaj stopped moving and hobbled away from him with Tori in haul. "C-come on..." His muscles tensed and relaxed in spasms as electricity coursed through his body. His shirt hung in tatters off his shoulders and water dripped off him. "I'm g-g-going to g-get you ins-s-s-side..." Wrapping an arm around her waist, Kiel struggled to make his legs move forward instead of collapse and crumple to the ground.

 

"Uhh...Sora." He replied. Not expecting someone to find them where ever they were.

Ren growled at the three students. "You shouldn't be here. Take Gena with you and head back the way you came." He didn't want to deal with Gena's infatuation nor any student disobeying rules. The freezing process had taken all his energy and then trying to make amends with Kaila, which he was positive hadn't happened at all.

 

schuyler stepped up in front of the others. it was clear no one was going to say why they were there so she felt it was only best to get it out while there was still time. she hadn't the faintest clue why the teacher before them wasn't wearing a shirt and was pretty certain that it went against the dress code, but schuyler like most of the female students felt an immediate attraction. she was typically a sensible person, but it took some work to refocus on what was important.
"professor...that's the problem. we don't know which way is back or we wouldn't still be here. we're all lost and don't know how we ended up down this hallway. if you could point us in the right direction we will gladly turn around."

tori rolled her eyes as she moved kiel's arm up off of her waist and over her shoulders and wrapped her own arm around his waist. if anyone was getting the other back inside it was she doing it to him. he could barely stand up let alone walk or carry another person. the heaviness from her clothes made the walk back to kiel's wheelchair take much longer than she thought it would. she was also getting rather cold from how wet she was and would be surprised if she didn't wake up sick the next morning. tori's teeth started to chatter and her whole body slowly started to shake from the rattling. when they arrived at the wheelchair, she carefully set kiel down to push him back inside.
"th-the pr-profess-ssor and th-the n-nurse are g-going t-to have a h-hayday w-with m-me when they s-see how m-much w-worse you look. i s-said you w-would b-be f-fine."
once inside the castle-like building the warmth from the academy enveloped her and it felt wonder to no longer be pelted with rain.

kaila sat up on her bed bored. she wasn't really that tired and didn't know what she would now do with the rest of her night. dinner would be ending soon so she thought about going to visit uriel. kaila wasn't normally one for gossip, but she was about to explode after everything that had or had not happened with ren and needed to talk to somebody. she figured uriel would either be in her office or with gabriel. she didn't mind if gabriel was around for the conversation. she quite liked his company and always found what little remarks he seemed to have quite amusing. kaila still wasn't sure where she and ren were at in their relationship, but like she told enan- it will no longer be holding her back. even if nothing ever does come about, she will continue to move forward. to seek out someone different. and if things do work out for the two of them, that would just be even better. ren always left her in a fog. just like tonight things were very back and forth. one minute she was running on ecstasy and the next she felt like she had ran face first into a wall. he was probably the most complicated person she had ever encountered and most certainly the hardest to read.

 

Gabriel slumped in one of Uriel's tan leather chairs in the corner of her office. "Uri...you can't take it all so seriously. Just humor the Seraphim. I'll keep watch over the students. If anything goes wrong...well I'm a teacher." Uriel sighed, covering her face with her hands. Her brown hair fell over her face and she groaned into her hands. "I can't let them do this to my students, Gabe. I won't let them expose them to the cruelties of humanity! What can I do? They outrank me...Yves is serious about this....so there's no way to convince him out of this." Gabriel dropped his head onto the back of the chair, "Really? Yves is bothering you? I can talk to him if you're uncomfortable with this... I still think it's somewhat a good idea...after all, the humans we've seen are in need of divine protection. Kadaj is definately taking an interest in humans for some reason..."

Ren sighed, running his hands through his black hair. The streak of white was scattered across his head instead of a concentrated streak. He would never see what the girls saw in him personally, but he figured his physic had something to do with it. They seemed to get fluttery when he removed his shirt. It was a shame the one he'd had was ruined and he'd tossed it into the fire in Kaila's room. His face warmed slightly at the memory of Kaila's room. He could still smell her scent on his skin. Waving a hand, Ren started forward, "Follow me then...I'll get you back to the dining hall. I should make you all stand out in the rain or work for Gabriel in the weapons room or even with Elena in the gardens. And if I wanted to be cruel...I'd say Sanya on patrol." He felt tired and almost drained from the close proximity to Kaila.

Kiel panted, reaching back to grasp Tori's hand, "D-don't...take me back there... I can't s-stand the infirmary.... J-just...lemme hide out in you r-r-room for a while. Just unt-til we're d-dry." He pleaded with Tori.

 

kaila got up from her bed and started to walk towards uriel's room. she had so much to talk about she almost felt giddy, but that faded as she turned a corner and saw the back of ren with some students. she turned back and headed down another hallway that would lead to uriel's room. she couldn't do with any more of that back and forth he seemed to ooze out of him. when she got to uriel's door she knocked while slowly opening it.
"knock knock"

tori looked at kiel sceptically.
"i'm n-not su-sure if that's a g-good idea. are w-we even al-llowed to g-go in oppos-site s-sex's r-rooms?"
she was pretty sure it wasn't okay and didn't want to ruffle any feathers, both metaphorically and physically. plus she didn't have any other clothes, because they got lost on her way to school. the only thing she could think of to warm up and get dry would be to take off her wet clothes and wrap up in a blanket and she couldn't do that with kiel around.

schuyler sighed and turned to follow ren down the hallway. she didn't want to get in trouble. especially so early in the school year. first impressions are important and starting off the year on the wrong foot was only going to make the rest of the year worse.

 

Gabriel stood quickly and grinned, "Oh Kaila, hello, what brings you here this late?" he motioned to a chair on the other side of the room. Uriel lifted her head from her hands and faintly smiled. "Evening Kaila. You remember Gabriel... we were just discussing Yves' proposition."

Kiel squeezed her hand and half turned to look at her. His blue eyes pleading, "Please Tori.... I can't stand hospitals and that place smells like a hospital. My mother's sister died from mal-practice. They said my father was the doctor that killed her..."

Ren shuffled the kids back into the dining hall, skipping out before he opened the doors. "There...dining hall, just like I said." His lack of a shirt made it difficult to focus on anything else other than the rolling lust coming off the female students. The Dark Court bonds binding him shivered as they absorbed the emotions coming off the girls. Dammit...I need to talk to Kyrios about loosening his bonds. I can't stand this everyday. Showing Kaila affection is difficult when your boss is feeding off of her emotions.

 

Least where back to the dinning hall without too much trouble. Sora thought

 

Diane Breathed in relief as they got back to the dining hall. She had been scared of getting in trouble.

 

tori sighed and began to push the wheelchair shakily. her grip on the handlebars was virtually non-existant. tori's whole body was shaking from the cold.
"f-fine. b-but if w-we g-get in tr-trouble it's y-your f-fault. i'm n-not t-taking the bl-blame."
she tried to push the wheelchair, but the walk back would take awhile.

schuyler nodded in appreciation.
"thank you professor."
she turned to head back to her room. her migraine was growing fierce and the only thing she could think of to help it would be her bed and a handful of aspirin. the walk back was going to be a long one. especially if diane and sora followed after her. schuyler sighed and started walking.

kaila entered uriel's room smiling.
"of course i remember gabriel. why wouldn't i? how are you hon?"
she took a seat next to uriel. it seemed like this seraphim talk was never going to end. not even for a night.
"oh ammittai."
she sighed.
"i am so very tired of all this nonsense. all that the seraphim are doing is slowly destroying the students. they shouldn't go through what is about to happen. it's quite awful, but this horrible talk isn't why i'm here. i've had enough of this talk."
a mischievous smile slowly spread across her face. her seams were about to snap from the tension. she was ready to explode from everything that had happened earlier.
"guess what!"

 

Kiel released her hand and shivered violently. Some man he was. He didn't keep Tori safe and now they were going to catch colds because of him, if not pnemonia.

Gabriel grinned, "We're all tired of the Seraphim's rules and expectations. But, we can't run from them, Kaila." Both he and Uriel jumped when she spoke again. They were used to the melancoly air in Uriel's office. "Wh-what's wrong? Why are we guessing?" Uriel rolled her eyes heavenward and waited for Kaila to continue.

Ren was panting by the time he reached his room. Scraps had wormed his way out of his box again and was yipping and whining around his feet as he stumbled into the bathroom. Why is this happening now? Kyrios isn't feeding as much as he normally does. It's..too much. I can't do this. Each of the girls' lust and interest and the boys' anger, jealousy, and even some lust roiled within him. Their emotions taking a toll on his body. He'd break if they didn't leave him soon. Kyrios was punishing him for being attatched to Kaila?

 

kaila's smile grew wide when she could tell that their interest was caught. she wasn't sure how to start it off, but figured diving right in would be the best measure.
"ren left my room a little while ago. the whole experience was very up and down. one minute everything was very surreal and the next i wanted to snap his wings off. but everything was different this time and strange."

tori shivered the entire walk to her bedroom. when they finally got to the door she had a hard time turning the handle from her shaking hands. when the door opened, the warmth from the bedroom felt wonderful. she felt it in her face first.

 

Uriel chuckled and Gabriel rested his head in his hands. "Is that what's so shocking you had to shout? Ren is Ren. What he does is unpredictable." Leaning forward, Uriel smoothed her dress and turned her brown eyes on the younger angel, "Ren was in your room? How curious. I thought he was ignoring you. Perhaps the tables have turned and now he's chasing after you." she smiled, "Or Enan's interest has unnerved his instincts to find a mate. I'd press him to our advantage."

Kiel rolled himself further into Tori's room and brushed his fingers along her bed. "C-c'mon...you should be warm. I p-promise I'm not g-going to jump in w-w-with you."

Ren hunched over the sink and dry heaved. He hated the rush of emotions from the students. Using a lightning strike to break through the window of his bathroom, Ren crawled into the bathtub and tried to worm his way out the window. "C-c'mon dammit!" Ren fell backwards, landing in a pile of broken glass and sighed in relief. Pain flooded his senses, overwelming the lust and desire and jealousy. Kyrios still was ignoring his pleas for him to take the emotions and feed the rest of the Court. Lying in the floor, Ren panted out his anger and tried to breathe through the emotions mixing inside him. However much he ignored them and insisted his brain they weren't his, he felt the nonetheless.

 

kaila waved gabriel's remarks away and continued to smile as she sighed.
"i don't know really uriel. it's hard to keep track of what kind of mood ren is in. it's true that he was angry with me this morning, which he had no right to be by the way. i should have been the one ranting and raving for being lied to, but yet he bruises my wrist"
she held up her arm to show the fainting bruising around her wrist.
"and tells me i have to go out on patrol with sanya as punishment for ignoring him. he's not the boss of me. and then the next thing i know he's frozen outside my room and holding onto me in front of my fireplace."
she thought about when she found ren frozen and there was only one logical answer as to why he would have been attacked in the school.
"if enan pulled that stunt with the ice soldier i promise you i'll clip his wings. he was mad that i refused him and the courts. i want nothing to do with them. and honestly could you see me standing beside him in the winter court? it's so cold and gloomy. bunch of lifeless prats the lot of them."
kaila hated to think that the only reason ren came to see her was because he felt pressured to find someone new. she knew he was married before, but he never really talked about it much. kaila had never even seen a picture. she had started to zone out when she realized uriel and gabriel were probably staring.
"uhm...advantage how?"

tori looked at the bed nervously. if she crawled into it dressed the way she was, it would be too wet for her to sleep in, but she didn't feel comfortable taking her clothes off with kiel in the room. it was going to take forever to get warm or especially dry while wearing her soaked clothes, but tori walked over to a chair in the corner and sat down. rather have a chair wet then the bed.
"th-that's okay. i'll j-just w-wait."
