I've come to grips with life and realize this is going too far.

First black and white tag. The original stock was almost black & white so I figured why not, always wanted to try one anyway.
    Cnc appreciated.

I like this. This new style of yours really shows a wider range of skills, the effects are nice, and the use of C4D's and fractals is good. However, the effects could use some more flow and concept to them.

The lighting is pretty great, too. Looks like you've got a very firm idea of how light works. However, I feel the whole tag lacks a bit of depth that most B&W tags have. The text is a pretty hit or miss subject, but it's okay here for the most part, however, it could use some work, as it's pretty hard to get right more often than not.

Overall, this is really a lot of new skills and great improvement.

    Haha, thanks. :]

Yeah, I honestly need to make up my mind before I do something, because I got halfway through this and then changed the direction of the flow, lol.
As for depth, I wasn't sure how to do that/was too lazy to look up tutorials, so I'll probably experiment more with that in the future.
    Thanks dude.

I really love it and I also love A7X.
I think you handled the black and white brilliantly!
The text is right in place where it is, it doesn't take away from the stock and neither do the added effects.

All in all I absolutely adore the tag and I hope you do more things like this in the future. XP

What you have to keep in mind primarily with black and white tags is that it's not always enough to just turn it black and white; you need to add some Exposure (or Levels or Brightness/Contrast or whatever you like to use, they all do [mostly] the same thing) adjustment layers. Right now it's very midtone-y in that it's pretty much -all- gray, aside from a little bit of the right corner. It looks like for light right now you're using soft brushing and putting it on a layer mode (just a guess given the way it looks, correct me if I'm wrong); I'd recommend giving the dodge & burn tools a try. They're tough to work with at first but they can really help, both with light and with the contrast issue I mentioned before.

And another general tip here, based off of what you said about changing the flow halfway through. I had that problem a lot too, but this really helps me. When you first add in the stock, look at it. Consider what flow the stock is showing, and if it's ambiguous or open to a lot of different types, draw yourself a diagram. Some examples:

It doesn't have to be anything advanced--since I work with circles a lot I usually start with one, but just arrows can serve fine in some cases. Then just keep this layer hidden above all your others and check it periodically.
