Digital Art and maybe this time we can do it right

**** I should never stop making tags for months. I've lost all talent I've ever had. xD But I tried today. It's not exactly what I wanted it to be, but I'm going to keep trying with these cartoony stocks. They're challenging, but they're just so cute. ;3

Not bad. I have no idea who that is, but I like it. *knows it would make a good gift for Shades* XD Regardless, I think it needs more slight effects, but that's just me.

Personally, I really think nothing is wrong with it, the stock placement is awesome and the cartoony effect is awesome, I like the pentool also...

I think you did awesome on this misty especially for your first time coming back...

Thanks; it's definitely been difficult after neglecting to try anything for months. xD and I'm glad someone noticed the pentooling. before I was relying heavily on smudging and splatter brushes, but I want to start trying to make more of my own effects.

Its nice but I cant see the words at the bottom.

I mostly use Photoshop CS2, but there's one or two filters in Gimp that I sometimes go back to use.

cool. I used to use GIMP all the time because i had an ancient version of photoshop. Now I have CS2 and my skills in making tags improved dramatically.​

 

I've never really seen this kind of style before. @___@

Personally, I think maybe you could add a little more color to match him just as some red but not too much so it won't mess the flow you've already got, but that's just my opininon. :/

This is the kind of mentality that is limiting everyone in this section.

A background doesn't HAVE to match the stock in anyway or form. The stock is meant to be treated as a focal point, and the background either supports it or helps it stand out more. The more you attempt to blend it, the more you lose the focus, and that's NOT something you want to do.

However, that's not saying blending isn't bad. The people who are good (and I mean good, not like the **** I see here), can blend their stocks with the background in such a way that it leaves you breathless. Unfortunately, when people begin, they think that making a chaotic, monochromatic background that has the exact same ****ing colours as the stock is good, which is the case I see a lot around here. It's not. However, if you can't make a tag look good without blending, then don't even attempt it until you feel you're good enough to do so, because while I say this, sometimes people who do this don't pull it off properly and it looks horrible.

There's more to tags than just monochromatic colours, messy backgrounds, borders and text.

 

I originally had a bit more red in there but it was drawing away from the focal too much. But thanks, anyway. :]

Yeah, that's what I forgot to add. XP lol When I think of it, it "would" distract the focal away from it so yeah, still it's nice. Keep at it with the tags. =D

 

I thought it turned out well, Misty. I don't know who the guy is but the sig looks pretty good to me.

 

it looks good, but some contrast to the light colors would help the overall look.

I think it's a very nice tag.

I suggest taking the light off of as much as because all I see is "uch as"

Otherwise, the colors add for a nice effect.​
