Anarchy Reigns is another god tier game from the folks over at Platinum Games, the makers of MadWorld, Infinite Space, Bayonetta, Vanquish, and soon to be releasing Project P100 (working title for Wii-U game that plays Pikmin, but with transforming superheroes), and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. In fact, it features characters from both MadWorld and Bayonetta while Vanquish's Sam Gideon is still heavily rumored. It also shares very similar gameplay to MadWorld. In fact, there seems to be around 15-20 just from speculation. Now, why is this game just so cool? Anarchy Reigns is a mainly multiplayer focuses beat em' up, looking to be as diverse as Halo while still keeping in mind what genres it is as it borrows from others. It obviously will still feature a single play campaign and crazy cutscenes, but the main focus here are the battles. The battles here are very fast paced due to just how much carnage is going on around the player. The game uses combos similar to Bayonetta and Devil May Cry for battle mechanics, playing similar to the action genre. It also features similar traits of MadWorld and Dead Rising, allowing the interactive environment to be used to create even more brutal kills. Oh yeah. The map layout even allows for quite a lot of strategy, as running in blind probably won't end well. The maps are generally quite spacious and laid out seemingly well, allowing for stealthy moments and pure flanking. Each character also has their own ability, which are currently, for the most part, unknown. If that's not CRAAAAZZZZZZZZY enough yet, just remember this is a game where you can have a Marcus Fenix looking man with a chainsaw grafted to his arm fight a hair-witch with guns strapped to her feet while both brawl a robot ninja to epic rap music. But that's all common this gen, right? This looks rather enjoyable, and that soundtrack is quite sick and rather unexpected O: Might be buying this when it comes out.
An online game where little kids will be scarce due to not being CoD, Halo, or GoW? And you can beat the crap out of annoying people rather than just shoot them? I'm in. And the soundtrack is even better when playing and chainsawing people. My personal favorite so far is either "Soon Enough" by Sick YG, Here We Go by Theory Hazit, Find You by Doujah Raze, or This Is Madness by Dilated Peoples. Game's going to rock. Platinum never fails to deliver.
