Video AMV Help Thread

i already have experience in amv making but my windows movie maker keeps crashing on me and sony vegas is hard,does anyone know how to fix this?if not does primere handle wmv and avi format?

 

I copyed and pasted my vid shortcut to upload to my thread and it kept saying upload error. How do i post my link to the forum?

 

I need help from someone who uses Vegas.

I use 7.0 Platinum, and I've seen videos that use the Masking effects (Like how in budds' videos she can cut out a character by their actual outline). I looked just about everywhere on Vegas and I can't find that feature. Help?

I've watched those videos before, and I don't see any where to enable Masking.

 

WMM does have a tendancy to crash.

For me, most of the time it's because it can't get enough CPU power. It really takes up alot of CPU so try to not have too many programs open. Also, check if your codecs interfere with the program. Once I had a Codec that screwed up WMM alot. Try disabling certian Codecs in the Options menu.

I'm a Novice at Sony Vegas. It's not too bad, the layout needs time to be getting used to though. Fortunatly, it's very flexable and you can change the layout however you like once you know where everything is. :)

 

The one about cutting shapes is masking, if you go to crop/pan for the clip in the bottom of that area is the option mask.

Anyone recommend anything against Windows Movie Maker? That's all I have right now, it's get the job done fairly well but it's horrible with glitches... makes it very hard to try to add everything and edit.

- Anything free possibly? Or next to.

I doubt 7.0 has it. =(

I've literally looked everywhere.

 

I really doubt they would get rid of it since it's the set up from 6.0.

 

Any idea where else it could be? (It's not in FX)

 

Does anyone know how to add watermarks in sony vegas?like know how to lower the transparency on there?

 

The best way to do it is like this:

- Create your watermark (text, logo, etc) and save as a .psd .
(Make sure your background is transparent)

- In Vegas, from the Main toolbar, select Insert -> Video Track

- Now drag the clip to match the length of your video.

That's the easiest way I've found that comes out looking good. A couple other things; make sure the video track with your watermark is above your video on the timeline, and it's best if your .psd has the same dimensions (width x height) as your video .

 

Yeah that pretty much explained it.

Or alternatively, create a text media and lower the ocapancy of it by clicking and dragging the top of the text on the timeline.

Does anyone know what episode that Light uses the Death Note to kill? Apart from Episode 1?

 

Question. Why does all of my vids come out looking funny, even though I try uploading extensions of AVI, WMV, MPEG4, and a bunch of other things?
