So, Steam had the christmas sales on and I saw this game for about 3£ or something, so I thought i'd buy it. Now, i've heard that Amnesia games are scary, and the videos i've seen so far look scary. I'm bust playing other games at the mo, but just how scary is this thing people?

That gake is fuking terrifying! Granted, I did play it on a 50 in screen... I was hanging out with a friend of mine, so he bought it.to watch me play. I played for perhaps 30min - 1 hour. Im NOT planning on playing it any more soon... My anxiety didnt like it either, haha!

It's not that it's just scary, it's that it's also very tense. You'll be on the edge of your seat 3/4 of the time. You'll be waiting for something to happen, when it obviously should, but nothing happens. That's how atmospheric the game is. It doesn't rely on cheap scares to be scary. The music and the feel does that already >_>
Besides that I really love the storytelling in the game. It's different.
And there's also puzzles and whatnot, if you enjoy those.

Not to mention the sounds in general. You hear dead people sounds, squeeking doors, etc.

If you really immerse yourself into it, which is easy because the game is quite engrossing, it can be really scary. The atmosphere, sound design, and having no idea what could be around the corner are what really make this game scary. Oh, and let's not forget that you don't get a weapon to defend yourself. Just your wits and survival instincts.
