''like i said im Zaris not Aries thats my zodiac but since we are in the days of the aries why wont I sho u some power.........'' raises hand ''heh u wanna c?''

 

"Not really, but I definitely know you. Hotheaded still I see. I'm Nikki remember."

Nikki looked at him. She hadn't remembered him being this stupid.

"Goddess of Night."

 

''lets see............oh yea my sis ^^ *puts hand down and holds it out* long time no c ^^ were u been.......''

ooc: Yes. Nyx is older than Zeus and Hera, parents of Aries!! She is one of the originals.

"Nice to see you Zaris. It has been a long time since our paths have crossed. I see you have changed little."

Nikki took his hand, not quite sure what to do with it. Greek gods didn't generally do this. She obviously had been away too long.

 

''hmph dont get in my way i dont wanna kill u just let me enslvae the humans ok?''

 

Nikki smiled "You always did rule by fear, and it never really worked. I won't get in the way of your plan, but I won't help you either. Zeus and Hera fear me, so I really can't say your threats work. I'm a Titan, one of the originals, if you get my drift. I never really fitted in with the rest of you. Oh, if you see him, give Chronos my regards."

 

''*sigh* u kno u want to be there with me wen i rule the world and all........but anyway i dont rule by fear any more.......i rule by fire and violence fear is so 10th centery........''

 

"What do you mean 'want to be there', are you threatening me? There are easier ways to rule people's lives, I know as I do it already. This modern world is ideal for those who can master it. No violence is needed to control destiny. I've been doing it since the dawn of time."

Nikki gave Zaris a superior look.

 

''good for u i care less if ur a titan and if u ruled at the dawn of time i just want to giv these humans wat they deserve a good enslavement........''

 

"What's got you so riled? Not got many followers? There are many ways to get them other than enslavement. Would you like me to teach you?"

 

Mr. Wheeler cleared his throat loudly. "Zaris, you speak of enslaving the humans because it is what they deserve. And you may be right, but you forgot one little factor: you had your chance. You had the power to do it back in the ancient times, when impaled corpses littered battlefields, and they worshipped you as the god of war. But your time has passed. It's a new age, and your powers are nothing compared to what they used to be.

Besides which, humans are already enslaved. They have made their own rulers. They are enslaved to their own desires."

I should know better than anyone thought Mr. Wheeler...

 

"I couldn't agree more, and enslavement by force doesn't work for long. I like Mr Wheeler understand that a more lateral approach is needed. I am still in power as I work with predictions. Now people want to hear that they win prizes or get what they want. Who do you think has the followers that create the horoscopes. I ask you both, haven't you seen people who turn to the horoscopes in the papers, or rely on fortunetelling? It's very much alive. The internet has been such a boon. Now prophesy reaches out worldwide. Zaris, you need to move with the times or become obsolete."

Nikki smiled at Mr Wheeler.

"You're very observant and most gracious."

 

Mr. Wheeler smiled back at Nikkie in agreement, but it took everything in his power not to flinch. An old god telling another old god that their time is up? thought Mr. Wheeler. This guy must really be a black sheep.

"Besides which, You're not the only god of war anymore, Zaris," said Mr. Wheeler. "There are many others as well, more powerful, brutal and efficient than you could ever be."

I could even introduce you if you want thought Mr. Wheeler.

 

''really? gods more brutal than me? hehehehe my father may hav been soft bu im a another stor..... *sigh* but anyway whose the wanna be god of war.....''

 

"You know there are many Gods of War, just as I know I must compete. Mr Wheeler understands how the world works, why can't you see it? Zaris, calm down and think. Your kind of war died out long ago. Do you want to follow it? I hope not, for the sake of your father and mother."

Nikki could see that Mr. Wheeler was becoming uncomfortable.

"Still interested in having something to eat, Mr Wheeler?

 

Mr. Wheeler thought about the gods of war he knew. There were gods of guns and of combat knives. There were gods of war vehicles, of tanks and planes and battleships. There were gods gas and grenades and bombs and thousands of other gods that all constantly competed for the title of the god of war.

And then there were the triplets. Mr. Wheeler figured they took the title of the gods of war. They had only truly used their united power on people two times. Mr. Wheeler still remembered when he heard about it. He wasn't even a god then, but he remembered it like it was yesterday. Mr. Wheeler grimaced just thinking about it.

Mr. Wheeler quickly regained his composure. He looked Zaris in the eye. "I suppose if you want to find the true title-holder, look for Three children. Their names are Robert, Marie, and Albert. If you wish to look for them, lstart at a reactor in a town called Arco, Idaho."

Mr. Wheeler the looked back at Nikkie. "There's a nice Chinese restaraunt on the other side of down town. Would you be willing to accompany me?"

 

"I would be honoured."

Nikki smiled at Mr Wheeler and hoped he realised she was not going to fight him. She was however coming very close to punishing that idiotic hothead Zaris. He had been a thorn in the side of the rest of the Pantheon for centuries, and though he had not attacked her, he had caused enough trouble to make him unwelcome. Nikki knew she was taking a big risk going with Mr Wheeler away from the others, but he intrigued her. He seemed neither violent nor evil, but she still knew he could turn on her. She attempted to work out what he was the God of, but as of yet he had shown no sign of any preference, and he was certainly no God of War.
Could she trust him?

 

Mr. Wheeler had to admit that he was taking a chance. First of all, he was going out to dinner with an old god. She could betray him and kill him, and he would be flat-footed and powerless to do anything about it. Second, the Higher-ups would probably do something horrible if he found out about this.
On the other hand, she was smiling at him. There was just something about her attitude that made him feel like she wan't going to fight him. What the hell, he thought, let's see where this goes. It would be good to work out god issues peacefully for once.

He hoped he could trust her.

"My car's about a block away. Did you take a car to get here? If not, i can give you a ride."

 

"Thank you, I walked. It's nice to meet a gentleman."

Nikki was sure this God was different. He had not threatened her or attacked her. He was obviously intelligent and definitely brave. If he wasn't high up in the modern pantheons, he was prepared to take a risk for her. She admired his style. This could be a very interesting meeting. So far the other old Gods had treated her badly. Perhaps the new Gods would see her in a different light here. She had a lot of knowledge, and she could see the future. The others overlooked her, that's how she had survived. It is easy to be overlooked when you keep a low profile. But she had destroyed more powerful Gods in the past. Everyone underestimated her. She never underestimated others, that's why she watched everyone. It helped her survive. Mr Wheeler was an interesting God, seemingly powerful, more than a match for Aries, yet he had a wisdom that made him superior.
