Mr. Wheeler grinned. "I'd rather be a drug dealer. A thief is just so... petty. What exactly will we be doing?"

 

"Well, what we will be doing is fairly simple . . . some basic shoplifting. Guess it is kind of ironic that you think a thief is petty as thieving will be exactly what we will be doing. Now, do you see any stores that look like they might be a good candidate? definitely one with a security guard."

Nikki watched the sun begin to rise over the horizon. She hated the built up cities, but had found from experience that they were the best place to hide. You jus became one of the crowd. Today she would keep a low profile. Padding to the fridge she poured herself a small glass of orange juice and then logged off the computer, shutting it down. Nikki wandered to the bedroom, changed into a swimming costume and wandered to the pool. She enjoyed swimming. This was a pleasure she could indulge in without feeling guilty. The pool was the main reason that she had chosen the apartment. She slipped into the water and felt her stresses of the previous day being washed away.

 

Mr. Wheeler looked around. "Well, the sun's just rising now, so i don't think that there'll be any stores open. However, there is a starbucks over there." Mr. Wheeler pointed to a starbucks that was near where his car was parked.

"I don't know if they'd have security guards, but it's a start."

 

'Take care Mr. Wheeler, it's daylight and Saule will become more powerful.. Watch out for yourself.'

Nikki wondered what this Saule was like. He seemed to have some sort of hold over Mr. Wheeler, but she couldn't work out whether it was due to fear or charisma. She hoped it was the latter, for Mr. Wheeler's sake. Climbing out of the pool she dried herself with a large fluffy towel and put on a robe. She walked to the elevator and went back to the apartment, checking her mail, which she had picked up on the way. Mostly junk mail and another set of fan mail. She would answer them later.

 

Saule felt the power of the sun flowing through his veins. He knew that it would be a while before he would have any charge stored in his body for later use, but for now he felt good, really really good. Saule signed and flexed his arms, he felt ten times stronger. He snapped and made a couple of small flashes of light to test the abilities he had been unable to use in a while. Saule then became aware that Mr. Wheeler had been talking.

"hmm, huh? What was that you said just now?"

 

Flicking through the post one envelope caught her eye. As soon as she'd locked the door behind her she opened it. There was a lot of information about the new gods and there meeting enclosed. Either she had a very good spy or one of the new gods was planning to switch sides. If the latter was the case she was willing to shelter and help that god. If not then the source was somewhere close to either the heart of the new gods or knew someone who was. She dressed quickly and got out an ancient chessboard. Carefully unwrapping one of the pieces she smiled. "Hello Zeus, I have something that might be of interest to you."
