Mr. Wheeler stifled a laugh, and a few seconds later he realized that Saule was actually serious. "Ok", Mr. Wheeler said.

He drove for a while before he looked at saule and said, "Oh, and by the way, we both know that media is crazy."

That's about when they arrived at the restaraunt.

"SO what's your plan? Kill a cashier and steal his clothing? or somehting else?"

 

"My goodness, aren't we feeling violent today. No, killing anyone is not part of my plan." Saule paused and then added, "Yes, I know she is crazy but is the sociopathic way, but in the irrational way, she would not risk my life without reason. . . as long as I stay loyal."

Saule stepped out of the car with his head a little higher because he knew the sun would be rising ever so soon.

"Do you have any money?"

 

''*sighs then opens book* see lets look inside can u read egyption?''

 

Mr. Wheeler stifled a cough that sounded vaguely like the word "suck-up". fished in his pockets and pulled out a twenty dollar bill. He handed it to saule. "This enough?"

 

Nikki looked at the book, and realised just how powerful it was. She could read it, but wondered why Zaris had gone to such lengths to acquire a book he couldn't read. She decided honesty would be the best route.

"Yes, I can read the book, though why I would want to is beyond me. Zaris, do you have any idea of the power trapped within it's pages."

Niki sensed that Mr. Wheeler was with the solar god again. She had a very bad feeling about Saule, even though they had never met.

 

''yea the power of an eternal army and the power of the dead unfortunatly i havent slept in 2 days and my power is low so unless u giv me some power i cant use a spell''

 

"You have to sleep? I suggest you do today then. I don't raise armies of the undead for anyone. It goes against how I work. Try subtlety. The death gods have more than enough power to do this but they don't. Ever wonder why? You will end up the god of nothing, and will destroy everything worth saving."

 

''u totally think im gannah destroy everything? I'm just gannah put the humans in check or maybe checkmate''

 

"Checkmate is the end of the game. Humans need freedom to create their little disagreements that turn to wars. They are stupid enough to require no guidance. Just give them weapons and an ego and they will do the rest."

Nikki smiled gently at Zaris. "If you need to sleep, you have a room. I'm going onto the internet to research the new gods."

 

''ok but look up this one god mephilas i had my eye on him for sometime now''

 

"Of course I will. Now why don't you rest. I'll even make you your favourite meal, whatever that is."

 

''hmph i dont eat *goes in room* see u in 48 hours (35 posts ^^)''

 

Saule smiled. "You're coming with me, every self-respecting god has got to know the subtleties. I want to see what you've got!"

Saule stepped out of the car still smiling, he really loved this time of day, he may not have had the raw power that he could have in full daylight, but his mind was flaring.

 

"Eh, i guess i could always use a bite to eat, as long as it is quick. Let me park." Mr. Wheeler honestly didn't know what saule was talking about, but he was usually hungry, so he parallel parked somewhere and walked back to the entrance.

"ALright then, let's go."

 

"First off, 'okay, lets go' ii that anyway for two gods to enter a situation? And second off, we got to have a plan of action, and no killing the owner and taking his clothes is not that plan. What is your name?"

 

Nikki sat at the computer and typed 'Saule Posse' into google. Various news links came up. He was an environmental protester who had been killed.The papers splashed their usual cries of outrage on the front pages for a day or so then nothing. Yesterday's news replaced by something more shocking. Nikki sighed, no one really cared any more. He had died for what he believed in and he had become a byline in an old newspaper The solar god must be using his body, but would retain some of his memories and feelings. Why would a god obsessed with the environment hang around an automobile god, unless to spy on him. It made no sense.

She then repeated the exercise using Mr. Wheeler's name. He came up instantly as a successful buisiness man winning many trade awards and having a high reputation. She wondered if anyone had any idea why he was so successful. Interestingly enough, she found a small article on environmental awareness which mentioned him. Perhaps there was a link.

Out of idle curiousity she googled her own name. The links for her sites and an amateur fan site came up. She occasionally did regional TV appearances, but seemed to be seen as a harmless but eccentric woman who claimed to see the future and dressed in an odd fashion. She was due to make another TV appearance on a low budget talk show about psychic powers. She enjoyed these, as they found her more followers, but no one who didn't believe ever took them seriously. These cynics saw her as a harmless crackpot who claimed she talked to ghosts.

"My name is bob. There, that's as undercover as i'm going to go. Besides which, you're the one that needs to be undercover."

 

"Yes, I suppose I should be undercover. I am Officer O'riely is that too hard to remember? Not that you even have to remember that." Saule looked around, "It has been a long time since I have had someone to work with it makes things a lot easier. Now, what do we want to make you, a thief probably, right, unless you think a drug dealer would be better?"

 

Nikki updated her sites and prepared for the TV interview. She carefully scripted her words so that she sounded convincing enough for the believers, but totally false for the cynics. She had to be careful. If anyone guessed the truth (which was unlikely) she would be in a lot of trouble.
