Mr. Wheeler looked through some of the disks in his car as the prius changed lanes.

"Sorry, but i don't have any bach with me. I do have Beethoven though. Ode to Joy sound good?

And wasn't Fat Bottomed girls written by Freddy Mercury?"

 

''nah ill drink some oil......''

zaris's eyes then turned red.......

 

"Ok bro, now you've confused me. Are you turning into a car or something?"

Nikki watched Zaris with a mix or amusement and curiosity. Whatever he was doing, she couldn't work out how it would help them.

 

''as the god of war i control fire and oil taste good to me is anyone fallowing us?''

 

"No. They can't see us either, we're cloaked in darkness. The only one enjoying your show is me."

Nikki was glad when they reached the apartment block. She got out her keys. Are you coming up again, or going out to get beaten up by new gods."

Nikki hoped he would stay in the apartment. She gave him the spare key for the elevator.

"You'll need this to get to my floor, if you want to come in later."

 

''ill go do some investigating u stay in ur apartment and be safe.....''

zaris then walks off....

 

"Be careful........my brother."

Nikki meant the words this time. She was genuinely scared for Zaris's safety, but he was like his father and would not be stopped. She rushed up to the apartment and locked the door. Looking out over the city, she thought about how the two gods she liked were out in the danger.

 

Saule winked at Mr. Wheeler forgetting that he as wearing sunglasses and smiled.

"Beethoven will due nicely; I just need to remove the 'metal' that you pounded into my head."

Saule yawned and stretched, trying to put the ringing in his ears into the back of his mind.

 

Mr. Wheeler put the CD into the player just as the car changed lanes and moved toward the exit.

"Your stop's coming up. It might be inadvisable to get comfortable, because you're just gonna have to get back up."

 

Saule could never quite get completely comfortable in something that consumed gas, but he did as Mr. Wheeler asked and got even less comfortable by sitting his chair up.

"When you get there pull into the back; I'm in room 322." Saule was attempting to speak to the car but got no response.

Saule listened to Beethoven and for a minute forgot that he was not supose to get comfortable.

OOC: Feanaro and i are heading towards Saule's hotel in Pasadena.

MR. Wheeler's car had finally exited the freeway, and saule's hotel was close. THe chorus swelled as MR. Wheeler's car finally pulled into the abandoned hotel's driveway. Mr. Wheeler guessed that the meeting would be here tommorrow. It was, after all the place people would pay the least amount of attention to.

People were so ignorant sometimes, MR. WHeeler thought as he looked at the gigantic corpse of a building. No one had paid attention to this place since the 1940's. A shootout had taken place here. The police thought it was a gang war. Mr. Wheeler wondered what they would have thought if someone told them that i was a fight between gods.

"Here's your stop, saule. It's been nice meeting you, and i'll see you tommorrow," Mr. Wheeler said, not meaning the words at all.

 

Saule got out of the car looking around suspiciously first.

"It has been quiet interesting to meet you too. But you are wrong. I will probably not be at the meeting tomorrow. There will be some people at the meeting that it would be very bad for me to see again. Actually that leads me to another somewhat dubious request."

Saule adjusted his sunglasses and looked around again.

"Could you be my eyes and ears at the meeting. She will never tell me anything. And although you probably do not trust me I trust you (somewhat) and if you tell me what happened that would be good."

Saule was somewhat nervous (in case you could not guess). He knew that he had angered many of the new gods, and he was not sure if she valued his life enough to stop them from staying here.

 

"Yup. I can do that. Of course, i'm not 100% sure that i'll ever see you again, or if i'll even be alive to tell anyone anything. But, if i do see you again, i will be sure to fill you in."

Mr. Wheeler looked at the clock in his car. "Well, i've got to be off. It's been a long night, and i need to rest up for tommorrow. See you later, Saule."

And with that, Mr. Wheeler drove off, and put Children of Bodom back on.

 

Saule now had a legit reason to hope that Mr. Wheeler live longer although He already had a good enough reason to want Mr Wheeler to live. Mr. Wheeler had made a good impression on Saule despite the "terrorist" comment.

Saule watched Mr. Wheeler car leave. He had had the kindness too turn down his sound system as to not wake the other gods in the hotel. Mr. Wheeler was right about one thing: it had been a very long night and Saule needed rest and he silently headed toward his room.

 

Nikki sensed that Mr. Wheeler was no longer with the solar god, but was safe for now. Perhaps the solar god was not sent to kill him, merely to spy on him and report back. The old gods seemed to be friendlier to each other than the new gods at present, and hopefully their internal bickering would stop them hunting the old gods. She thought of Zaris and Jon. Were they alright? Would Mr. Wheeler turn up as promised. He would be welcome. She would be there to greet him. Being the goddess of night meant that interestingly, she didn't sleep, and never had any need to. This is why the internet fascinated her, as she loved the 24 hour virtual life.

 

Mr. Wheeler thought about saule. What did he want? WHy was he so curious about Mr. Wheeler's experiences. HE seemed so... edgy. Mr. Wheeler wondered why saule was working for media if he hated her so much, then decided not to dwell on it.

Mr. Wheeler suddenly remembered his promise to Nikkie. I don't know if you an hear me or not, or if you already know this, but i'm on my way.

 

'Be careful, the new gods are obviously being vigilant. I will meet you in the lobby as you need a key to work the elevator. I'm glad you are safe. I sense a solar god who may be trouble.'

Nikki got ready and went down into the lobby. The concierge was used to seeing her there, and being one of her followers, never commented. She smiled at him and sat on one of the couches, waiting and pretending to read a magazine. As a cover she told people she was an insomniac, which explained her being awake at odd hours.

 

"Bout time you got here!"

 

"Excuse me? I live here, and I've been here most of the night. Would you like to go up to my apartment, and make yourself comfortable. It's not safe out here."
