Eh I know how it feels, I'm going to differ from Jiku and say that the hating and judging and being a stuck up asswipe business can, I hope, change post-high school. I really don't like the person I was in high school at all, I was very lonely and depressed and angry and that made me resistant to seeing the good in anyone there, or giving anyone a chance. I like to think we can grow out of that once we're taken out of the environment.

I think high school is just a really strange thing even if you don't have the negative experience I and so many others did. Even people who loved high school will get out of it and change into a really different person. That's something I'm noticing, at least, seeing this transition people are making from high school to college or the workforce. People start to become the person they're meant to be or want to be, I guess, when they're freed from high school. It's interesting. I think we can change and grow from that. I'm hoping I have.

That's me, everyone is a terrible person and good does not exist in this world.

I'm hoping I'll be given a reason to change that outlook when I leave high school.

Because the world hates you just as much as it hates everybody else.[DOUBLEPOST=1354433623][/DOUBLEPOST]
You'll like Catcher in the Rye. I can feel it in my old bones. My old, nineteen year old bones.

I really hope there will be for you too, that feeling is just a terrible one to wake up every morning and carry around with you. But if you're determined to make your life post-HS (whether it be college or work or just taking a break) different, it will be. There are people out there worth holding out for, and they might not be that hard to find if we just open our eyes a bit. It's difficult and scary but you've just got to open yourself to the possibility and dive right in.

But for now, just try to make it through six more awful months. It's not that far now.

    I hated it lol.

I did too on my first readthrough, but then I read it again and liked it, then listened to an audiobook of it and loved it. Ray Hagen's voice is perfect for Holden.

    Thanks.

I'm going to try to get a job at the beginning of 2013, and then I'll start college in the fall semester. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and seeing a side to life other than that of high school.

Do not worry, sir. If life consisted solely of around 80% of North American public high school experiences then we would have no need for Orwell or Huxley because we would already be living in a terrible, unrealistic dystopia.
