What about Mickey? Disney's poster boy and Square's poster boy should get one each. And then all of Org. XIII should get one. Among other people.

Forgot about Mickey, because y'know he's so forgettable in the games.

Understandable. However, I would say Mickey is just forgettable in general. Donald and Goofy are far more interesting characters than the mouse.

What if I don't want everything to be simple and clea-*shot*

Probably because Sora was the only Keyblade Wielder who was actively doing something to prevent the universe from being destroyed in the first game. Riku's all about that darkness or possessed for the first game. Kairi and Ven were comatose. Aqua is in a different realm and so is Mickey. Terra is practically dead. And Roxas hadn't even been born yet.

This, but I also feel that it's because Sora acts as a catalyst. His ability to wield a Keyblade, and how he uses it, may affect those around him in a way that enables them to wield one. How many people are connected to Sora's heart? How many of those can wield a Keyblade? I feel like the Keyblade used to be a lot more abundant (Keyblade War), but only certain people got famous for wielding them (Masters). Then after the War, the number greatly decreased. After BBS, no one with a Keyblade, save for the retired Yen Sid, was around. I don't think that Sora's special because he can wield a Keyblade and is some sort of chosen one, I think he's special because he's the first one to use the Keyblade in years.
