I woke up at 8 40, which is the time I'm supposed to be leaving. I was preparing to be late to school, so I didn't have time to eat breakfast or brush my teeth. All I did was throw on some clothes, use some mouthwash and run out the door. I was pretty much sprinting to school, which is about a mile from my house. I thought I would be late, but luckily some girl who I've talked to maybe twice saw me and gave me a ride to school, which was really nice. At the end of the day it was pouring (and still is) and I thought I would have to walk home in the rain. I started walking and before I could get far at all some other girl (she is probably the single nicest person I've ever met and so is her family) picked me up and gave me a ride home because it was raining. A lot of other things like that happened today but none worth mentioning. So yeah, my day went well. and now I have a sweet four day weekend, and my last day of high school is in 8 days. life's pretty good right now
In high school, whenever I saw this acquaintance of mine walking to school, I'd always offer him a ride. It's how I justified driving to school to myself. And you just feel like a good person.
I don't have a permit/license yet (but thankfully I'm starting lessons in July), but if I did, I probably wouldn't just give a ride to someone unless I talked to them a bit. At least you knew those 2 girls, even if the first one you never really talked to that much. Call me paranoid, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, especially when it's my dad's truck I'll be driving.
I wouldn't really offer a ride to someone unless I was friendly with them, just because I know I would never get into a car with someone I didn't know. But rides to school from people you know aren't a huge deal, to me.
Just be sure to do it with the right people because, well, you saw what happened with me and my friends.
I'm not friendly with the kind of people who would fuck with my vehicle. tbh I see that as disrespecting me and I ain't got time for that.
Touche. In my case, though, they were fine when I first started taking them. It's when they started becoming comfortable in the car that trouble started.
I used to turn down offers because I thought I would be imposing but I recently have been taking people up on their offers, it seems like the polite thing to do. I have no problem with walking, but if someones going to offer a ride, and if it's someone that I know and like, I'll accept. I won't accept from people I don't know well or don't want to know well.
Self-gratification will get you nowhere. If you want good karma you should've gave them a ride to school on a unicorn.
