Alice in Dreamland

Watching, Eva gently ran her fingers over a necklace, then tried it on. It was rusted, the chain just a leather one, the red gem that would have been a ruby looked the color of blood. She smiled, trying to fasten the catch as she looked in the mirror. It fit her, somehow.

 

The Hatter took off his hat and laid it, along with his cane, onto a nearby table, then walked deeper into the shoppe. Eventually, he found some tools, along with several strange mechanisms he had been working on. Taking a screwdriver in his hand, he began to work fast. "I have a few unfinished projects that could, in theory, serve as weapons to use against the Queen. True, they may not work, but..." He grinned madly. "Better to go down trying than lying on our backs, right?"

 

"N-no!" Beatrice panicked as he moved closer and quickly bolted off in a random direction to avoid him. Should she climb a tree? Nah, he could burn it. Woods? She didn't like bugs.

Where do I go?

 

Cashtran gave out a hootin' and a hollirin' and gave chase for he had finally found an atheist. He would make her a hola believah of burning for all eternatah. Yes-indeedy. If they didn't believe, why bein' the nice guy Trashy was, why, he burned them folks up just for burnin's sake. Kind of like how that Santa man made people go around doin'. "When I make you start believin', you can burn with my momma and daddah! Burn, babbah, burn."

 

Alice tilted her head, nodding slightly after and following after the Mad Hatter. She pressed her palms against the cool fabric of her dress and took in a deep breath as she looked around. Hats hung from all over, the atmosphere an odd and familiar one. Though inside of a shoppe, vines and flowers seemed to grow in the most bizarre places. She looked around still, gazing intently at all of the odd clockwork around with a shudder.

"I suppose..." She whispered in response to him.

 

The Hatter turned and looked at her. "You suppose? You seemed ready to fight just a moment ago..." he mused, then frowned and went back to his work. "You're going to have to. Your imagination is the core structure of Wonderland, you know."
