Algebra

I'm taking this math course next year, but I need a refresher on the basics. If anyone were to help me out just a little bit...

How would I use the zero product property to solve an equation like:

(x+4)(x-3)=-10

And also, how would I solve this equation by factoring?

x(squared)+2x-8=0

If anyone could help out just a little it'd mean a lot. I suck at mathTT

 

(x+4)(x+-3)=-10

X=1

x(squared)+2x-8=0

X=2

I took pre algebra last year, but right now my brain is turned off becuasse it is summer. I'll try to help though.

(x+4)(x-3)=-10

(0+4)(4-3)=-10

4-3=1

(-3+4) (0+-3)

-3+4=1

x=1
(to check this..)

(1+4)=5
(1+-3)= -2

5 X -2 = -10


(The zeroes that I used when doing each step of the problem are not actually there or used; I just do it like that to get rid of that half...that's just how it works for me. I do it half by half....And then check once I've got an answer.)

I took Adv. Algebra last year, but I can't remember it now. <_<; Factoring was the one thing I KNOW I did good in, too. Talk about ******ed.

i just finished taking Advance algebra 2day (summer school lol)
and its basicaly algebra just... more bogus... lol.
and the Zero Prop was included in my course, so if you need help or if you are stuck or soemthing, hit me up before i burn all my work cuz i dont want to see it n e more lmao!

Algebra sure is a hell of alot easier than Geometry......actaully no, they were both kinda the same. Though in Geometry we wrote sentences for half the year and did no math problems at all which was fun.

Can't wait for Algebra II ^o^

btw, if my memory serves me right. The above answers from the orange....thing are correct.

 

I took Algebra this previous year, however, entering this new high school, I have to take it again. -_-
