I don't agree with alcohol being banned. It's just one of those questions that I thought of when the whole thing started, 'What if we didn't have alcohol?' just because of the situation.

What I truly don't agree with is the price. It's so cheap to buy alcoholic drinks in the UK, you get a six pack for aboutt £3 now, when it was around double that. And the reason their so cheap is because supermarkets are selling them so cheap. The demand is always constant for alcohol, and like cigarettes, I wish the government would put some sort of tax or something on them so teens can't afford large quantities.
This is the way they should raises taxes instaed of charging broadband tax andcutting funding to the education system, it's jsut annoying.

Fair enough, I mean I would agree with what you said but if i'm being truthful, our group is one of the most intimate of groups you may ever meet. I partly say this is due to teen juices flowing, but hell somethings I still can't believe. I mean we've turned a right straight bloke, to someone willinging to (and I've been told he even has) sleep with other guys. I could understand how they were led into this position, it's just something we do
Still I agree it still is there fault. Alcohol was the fuel but that night caused the fire.

I also agree that the dirlfriend of this cheating guy should have dumped him by now. I also wanna make clear that this is the first time this girl has done it with this cheater, but he has done it with other girls before (apparently when drunk aswell) so I still find his story and motives idiotic. He still hangs around with us, even though alot of us didn't like him in the first place.

doesn't work. raising taxes does not cut useage. it never has. something you need to understand is that people will do whatever it takes to get what they want, and the harder you make it the more danger you put them in.

make it illegal, people will make their own unregulated alcohol. make it too pricey, they'll do the same thing.
for instance, here in australia they raised taxes on pre-mixed drinks in order to curb teen binge drinking. it worked in the sense that they stopped spending $30 on a six pack of lemon, lime and vodka. but what they did instead was spend $30 on a bottle vodka and bought their own soft-drink which gave them MORE alcohol to consume.

and you can't raise prices all along the board because then you're going to start pissing people off.

Its a risk your friends decided to take. I don't know how old you/your friends are, but situations like these are pretty much why there is an age requirement. Besides, like CtR said, I dont think alcohol completely merits one friend cheating with another friend.

I don't think alcohol should be banned, just abuse prevention be enforced.

Lol Prohibiton just creates a black market trade which is completely unregulated. A black market is far worse than a legal market in every possible sense. It is worse for the actual health of the nation and doesn't contribute at all to tax revenues.

Also, a 21 age limit on alcohol is an utter insult to 18 year olds. You are saying that they can have a family, vote and join the army but aren't allowed to drink alcohol? What kind of a sick twisted person are you? All of those things require much more judgement than drinking alcohol does.

Just stating, here in the UK the legal age to drink alcohol in public is 18.
However if the law is still in place, at the age of 5 onwards you can drink privately at home leagally.
THe maturity of a person is not affected by the number of times the Earth has rotated round the Sun, it's how they act and how respoaible they are. THough truthfully, my friends aren't the mature ones, so meh.
