How do you guys put flashes into your videos. I see a way to on vegas but I don't know if it's the right way.

 

there's multiple ways, one is to do a real quick fade to ether to a white or black background...Or put a frame or two in of black or white...or make a video track and put it above your other tracks, make sure it's selected then go to insert/video envelopes/fade to color Fade to color will make video tracks below it fade to ether white, or black depending on how you use it. To use it just right click on where you want the flash to begin *on the track with the fade to color* and place a point. then at where you want the flash to end put another point and another one followed right after that, now drag the center dot up, for white, or down for black. you can move the dots wherever suits your video best.
Any who that's all the ways I know how to fade o.o

 

that last one seems to be a bit complicated but more useful for specific areas. Ahh it feels great to be making AMVs again.

EDIT: Also how big do you guys make your videos?

 

Will I ether do 640x360 or 1280x420
640x360 if I want a quick preview on my computer/youtube
1280x420 for the final video
But really the size is up to you
640x360 = size of small youtube player (Default is 360p)
1280x420 = size of big youtube player (Default is 480p)

 

and how do you change the size?

 

*For 640x360* When you hit render as, you'll see a button that says Custom.. on your right, click on that. Then go to the video tab, and on the Image size drop down menu, look for (Custom) and then the two text boxes under it will allow you to type in them. For width put in 640 and height put in 360. Then click ok, and render.
*For 1280x720* When you hit render as, make sure your "Save as type:" is "Windows Media Video V11 (*.wmv)" then select your Templet as "4.8 Mbps HD 720-24p Video" or you could do what we did for the 640x360 option, but in the drop down menu instead of (Custom), pick "High Definition (1280x720)"

To change your preview box to the desired aspect ratio while working on the video go under file/properties, the video tab should be up, change the Template to Custom and put in the width as 640 and the height to 360. To make it so all your new videos start off with this template just check the box on the bottom that says "Start all new projects with these settings"

 

Good news guys. Our possible new recruit said yes! I told him to just post in here when he's ready. Also I made a new vid in the user portal. It's not really anything relevant but I just felt like doing something like it. Yeah, it is cool and it did. I'd love it if a KH anime was ever made that had animations like this. It'd be awesome.

Not to sound mean or anything Cat, but I must correct you on something, GIMP is not part of google in anyway. Actually the company that owns it, is in fact, GIMP.

Anyways I saw your video Cat, it's quite nice, the only pointer I could say is to maker blink, it looks kinda unnatural without the blinking...I'm not trying to sound mean at all D:
