Not bothering with a spoiler tag with this because the SITE KEEPS SCREWING UP MY VERY SIMPLE FORMATTING AAAAAAAAAAAAA

The Whedons are in charge of this show. Killing off one of Fitz-Simmons, or even both, is not beyond their cruelty. ;__; Does how low the plane was flying seriously affect the situation very much? Either way, they're trapped in a box in the middle of the ocean. Whether they were jettisoned from high up or lower, they're still gonna start sinking. Maybe they're clever enough to McGuyver a way out, but... Whatever the case, Fitz does still have the quarter tracking device on him, so the team will be able to find them sooner or later...

Exploring Skye's heritage is a confirmed part of the episode, I believe. I don't know much about the comics, but from looking up Inhumans, it doesn't seem unlikely that Skye is one. I've also heard theories that she becomes Ms. Marvel or Spider-Woman, but I guess we'll seeee~

Also YES NICK FURY BACK IN ACTION AAAAAAA

The Facebook page showed off two clips from the finale so far—one clip is the first minute of the episode, showing some interesting Cybertek stuff, and the second has a conversation between Garret and Raina, among other things, and gol'dang has Garret gotten creepy since that injection. ._.

Which is what I was thinking. Regardless, it just messed with my suspension of disbelief a bit because I was so nervous. Even my roommates asked what I was freaking out about because I legitimately said "Oh, no no no. Not FitzSimmons. Not them, please, no-THAT'S HOW HIGH THE PLANE WAS?"

Well, Marvel is wanting to do an Inhuman movie and the Inhumans are getting a little push in the comics right now, especially after Marvel's Inhumanity event (tons of Inhumans awakened on Earth) so it wouldn't surprise me at all if Skye was one of them. Especially considering the "monsters" remark about their parents, it would make sense. I doubt Ms. Marvel or Spider-Woman simply because I really doubt they would take an existing character with so much comic book history (even if they're not generally known) and change it to an existing character...unless Skye finds out her real name is Carol Danvers, Jessica Drew, or Julia Carpenter. Now that I think about it, finding out one of those is her real name isn't that far-fetched, but I still think the Inhuman theory is the most plausible.

Another theory I heard is that Skye is secretly a Kree, same as what the blue alien that they got GH-### from (not to mention, Krees were namedropped by Lady Sif in the next episode). Half-Kree would make sense, I think; keeps her powers dormant but allows the GH serum to more easily rejuvenate her without any side effects.

Ah, good point. This is the kind of stuff I'd know if I was into Marvel stuff beyond the MCU. XD You're right, (half?-)Kree and Inhuman do sound the most plausible. If I had to bet money on one of those theories, I'd guess Kree, though, because of the in-series foreshadowing you mentioned.

In other news, Forbes posted their (spoiler-free) review of the season finale and are hINTING THAT THE FINALE MIGHT AFFECT THE REST OF THE MCU??? [HEAVY BREATHING INTENSIFIES]

I am curious if the finale's events will tie-in to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Could have a connection to the GH-325 alien... maybe?

That's my guess. So far the series has tied into the theatrical and DVD releases of the other movies (The Well; Yes Men; Turn, Turn, Turn), so it only makes sense for them to tie in somehow to Guardians. It could potentially have to do with Skye's origins as well, considering last week's reveal that her parents were "monsters."

Now that I think about it, the main character in Guardians of the Galaxy (Peter Quill) is around the same age as Skye, and he was transported away from Earth during his childhood I believe... could there be a connection to these "monsters"?

Well, in the actual comics, Peter Quill is only half-human. The name Star-Lord comes from his alien heritage, the Spartax. I didn't consider the possibility before, but maybe Skye is similar to him? I still doubt it, though, as the Spartax appear human (they could change it for the movie and make them appear monstrous, but that would be difficult because Star-Lord obviously appears fully human, unless they get rid of his half-alien heritage).

This article states that MCU Peter Quill was indeed taken from Earth when he was a child, though I don't think that totally invalidates the idea of him being half-alien.

I doubt there is a connection between Skye and the Spartax.
There haven't been any hints to her being extraterrestrial, though I'm saying this having watched the whole season without this in mind.
There could be hints and foreshadowing that I don't know about.

I always assumed that the Guardians movie was going to be their introduction to this universe and that nothing that came before would be immediately connected. I kinda hope this is the case since they're not as connected to everything else in the comics (and I like it that way), being a part of cosmic Marvel and all, though if they were somehow set up in this show I would immediately like this show more.

For a while there I thought Shield wouldn't be picked up for another season. Glad it did because it's just getting good. And I think it's safe to assume that the next season or the rest of this show is going to be about rebuilding Shield. Or at least that is going to be the basis for everything that happens. I also think it's very possible that Maria Hill will become a major character in this show, 1 because she's a major shield member, and 2 because the actress that plays her is a television actress and her show just ended.

Yeah, I truly enjoyed that finale. Nick Fury's scenes were my favorite. And I really hope this means the new S.H.I.E.L.D. will make appearances in future movies.

    Can't wait for Season 2!

i like how they almost kill fitz right as he becomes my favorite character in the show

But seriously this season ended so strongly. Which is amazing considering how it opened so incredibly weak.

When my sister told me about this she asked who Mockingbird was so I also told her that she used to be married to Hawkeye or something. I hope that this means Clint will make an appearance in at least one episode this season.
