Television Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Even if coulson whould live at some point I would realy like a pre-quel of avangers just to understand how SHIELD come to be.. similar to Iron Man that "Transformed our world , into marvel's world", it would be cool that they showed how US forces, or ONU forces combined to become SHIELD, and maybe they could show SWORD also.

So that confirms Coulson's alive alive, and not just shown in flashbacks! Okay this is really starting to intrigue me now. Knowing S.H.I.E.L.D. though, probably they probably just gave him some Infinity Formula coz he was too much of an asset to them?
And okay, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. does put more emphasis on the people, which the story will be about. I don't mind that.

 

I did get the chance to look up the cast and I see that they are going for a more diverse cast (Ming-Na and Chloe Bennet). Personally, I'm lovin' the Asian-Representation, although not sure if they intended that anyway hehe. Regardless, I'm darn excited and glad that we can trust Joss Whedon to do the magic. c:

Tis exciting!~ I'm curious to see if Quicksilver and/or Scarlett Witch will make an appearance, since Joss himself said they will in da Avenger's sequel. Also, RDJ cameos are necessary.

But I may be getting ahead of myself here. I will be watchin' dis pilot as soon as it comes on. #coulsonlives

 

Slightly off-topic, but it's rumored that the twins are going to be depicted as British rather than Eastern European. In other words: they're going to whitewash the twins. If this is indeed the case, I shall be highly disappointed. This is a rant best saved for another thread, though... (Avengers 2)

I am excited for the S.H.I.E.L.D. series as well.

 

Considering RDJ is in talks about his contract and there is currently some...disagreement between the Avengers cast and film company about pay -not to mention the ending of Iron Man 3 and lack of Avenger Phase 2 tie-in material- I would settle for RDJ not making any more Iron Man films, but still playing him in Avengers movies and a semi-role in S.H.I.E.L.D. (then again, I'm tired of RDJ as Iron Man anyway).
As for Pietro and Wanda: There are rumors about one or the other (or even both) being used for Avengers material and X-Men material. I think the studios said that they're in an agreement that if they're used for Avengers, they won't reference the X-Men or their mutant nature and if they're in X-Men, they won't reference the Avengers. Whether or not this means that if either is used for both, it'll be two separate continuities (different actors, universes, etc.) or same one, but without mention to the other studio, I don't know.
With the Fantastic Four reboot taking place in the same continuity as the X-Men films, X-Men: First Class semi-retconning the X-Men film series, and Days of Future Past tying in the old trilogy into the new First Class-based series, I am hoping that Days of Future Past changes everything to that all Marvel films take place in one universe. They don't have to interact, not even mention each other, but it would really help with a) advertising, b) making comic readers happy. Hell, with the Amazing Spider-Man's logo for OsCorp used in the Iron Man 3 video game, they might already be working towards a "reference only, never interact" entirely-encompassing Marvel Cinematic Universe. If that's done, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. could even be used tie everything together.

Man, I really hope this pulls through successfully after the pilot. I'd be curious to see if these characters will make it in the other movies, as well as introduce new Avengers.

There's a rumor going around that you can clearly see Doctor Strange around the one minute mark where the agent is looking at the hologram.

The color of the hologram matches Doctor Strange's color theme, the voiceover which the scene lines up with is "the strange and unknown," the guy kind of looks like a live action Strange (THOUGH HE'S NO PATRICK DEMPSEY. COME ON, HE WAS PERFECT FOR THE JOB), and it looks like he's working a little magic as well.
On top of that, around the 1:45 mark, when hacker chick is doing her little activist speech, at the part when it says "those who shield us from the truth," the monitor that the agents are watching seems to show the guy from the hologram arguing with a doctor. Anyone who knows Doctor Strange's origin story can see how this may line up with both Strange and the show's premise.
On top of that, black guy (I know he's famous, I can never remember his name, though <<) has been sparking a debate over whether or not he's Luke Cage (I hope not. Still holding on for the Rock to play him! Also, personality is...off for me), Rage (makes sense, but I'm sure he'll be extremely altered for the show), or Patriot (the line about holding a shield being an easter egg, maybe? Even a way to tie him into Cap's story?). Also, at one moment where he's about to be sniped, the sound effect sounds like super speed, but that may just be me.

As for the show itself, I'm getting really excited. Seems to have a lot of promise. Dialogue's great, story's something I'd like. It's one of those shows that seems like it'll be great regardless of whether it was connected to Marvel or not. Problem is...the premiering network may not be committed to the long run so if the show deliver right away, cancellation is possible.

Random: Time slot will be warring over with CW's The Originals (Vampire Diaries spinoff) and NCIS. Honestly...I don't see Originals winning this fight.

 

Ok look here's the thing I'm literally always hype for Joss Whedon like I can't turn it off

and the fact that there are like no superheroes from previous movies in the trailer only makes me more hype

but here's the real question: Is Stan Lee gonna make a cameo in every episode? or is he just gonna cop out and show up late in the pilot
